  1. My friends are having a Halloween party next week, and the theme is "inspired by art". The costume I decided on is "Pre-Raphaelite Artist Model on Break".

If you've ever spent any time in a painter's studio, you know the particular blend of smells - linseed oil, turpentine, canvas, charcoal, dust. I want to add this element to my costume without having to acquire the individual components and risking creating an overwhelming stench by trying to mix it up myself!

Is there a BPAL or BPTP blend that has what I'm looking for?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. The Great Python Snake (Motherhood 2016/Liliths 2016)

Straight from the Lab, so not aged; allowed to sit for a few hours. Tried on right inner elbow.

    In the bottle:

    Green and kind of spicy.

    On, wet:

Still green and spicy, very much like fresh greenery.

    Drying:

...there are animals in this jungle! And now they’re peeing. In the jungle. As they do. And they’re wearing lemony-smelling flowers...tropical blooms? Wow, this is a weird one!

    After 20 minutes:

Still getting a sort of lemon-pee impression. Not much greenery now.

    Overall impressions:

It’s not *bad*, just strange...and I’m not disliking it. It might end up being a room scent, which is what I got it for. I need to see how it ages.

ETA: Just to clarify, the pee note went away after a while, but I can't describe the scent now.

  3. Spider Witch (Motherhood 2016/Liliths 2016)

Straight from the Lab, so not aged; allowed to sit for a few hours. Tried on left inner elbow.

    In the bottle:

Chocolate and smoked patchouli...this smells super delicious!

    On, wet:

A little bit of caramel comes out.

    Drying:

Salted caramel? Also a little patchouli. Then caramel was scared away by leather. Ooooh, hello hot guy in leather! Where did *you* come from?

    After 20 minutes:

We should just call this one Spider and have done with it.

    Overall impressions:

I seriously need to find a man to put this on. Until then, I’ll be in my bunk.

  4. Straight from the Lab, so not aged; allowed to sit for a few hours. Tried on left wrist.

    In the bottle:

Fresh juicy coconut meat and some other soft scents, with a hint of soapiness. I don’t get any salt or fruit.

    On, wet:

The notes all blend together and I can no longer make out any specific scents. Overall impression of sweet nuttiness, but still soft.

    Drying:

Getting a little more soapiness, but otherwise about the same. Not much throw.

    After 20 minutes:

Only a hint of coconut soap remains. :(

    Overall impressions:

I am a bit hesitant to try slathering while the bottle is fresh (hate soapy notes so much), so I think I’m going to let it age and see what it does.

  5. I got an imp of this for my husband.

The morning he tried it, I had left for work before he put it on...he emailed me later saying "Ew ew ew, I smell of baby powder!" He hates baby powder. :D So much that he emailed me several more times to say that he couldn't wait to get home and wash it off. Poor hubby.

I decided to give it a try myself, just a dab on the wrist. Wow, it has a lot of throw! unfortunately, on me it smells like baby powder with a few spices. Hubby does not want. :P

Poor Dracul...to the swap with him!

  6. I first got this as a frimp from the lab. I never would have given it a chance otherwise.

In the imp: Ooooooh...are you sure I can't drink this? It's sort of like butterscotch.

On me: Still kind of butterscotch, with a touch of fruit. Very light; I have to slather to be able to smell it after an hour.

I wore it every day, layering it with other oils until it ran out. I was sad. :( So I ordered a 5ml! :D Love
