  1. CLXI (as far as I can tell)

Very grapefruity with a slight undertone of SO. Maybe a very slight bit of chocolate.

    Nice but just not me.

    Next!

    XI

Mainly SO with a bit of red musk (Lust, is that you?)

In the bottle it reminded me of Mme Moriarty, but not once applied.

A tiny little bit of nutty/resin.

Will have to see how it develops before deciding whether to keep or not.

  2. Madonna, Edvard Munch.
Hyssop, pomegranate, Angel’s Trumpet, Indonesian patchouli, iris, white orchid, and frankincense.

Odd. This reminds me of "Angels on Bare Skin" scrub from Lush.
    So-so overall.

  3. Definitely getting a red berry hint. When I hold the bottle up to my nose and huff, I get a very slight blood note (which is okay because I hate blood notes- couldn't stand Blood Garden), very slight smoke, and very slight peppermint. No snow.

    All in all, okay. Unusual.

  4. This smells like a cross between Lust and Snake Oil to me- don't get me wrong, I love them both, but individually. Together, ergh.
Perhaps it is just because I am saturated in Gingerbread Poppet right now that I can't appreciate the full Snake Charmy goodness, so will have to try again.
Not giving away my three bottles yet, but so far am glad I didn't spend 50$+ on one bottle.

ETA- I changed my mind, this smells so good.

Aged several years, smells rich and warm and sensual and unique.

  5. I didn't think I would like this one, and guess what?! I didn't! It smells like dirt and vetivert.

Not quite a scrubber, but one that I don't need to test twice to find out how I feel about it. In general, dirt scents don't appeal to me. Graveyard Dirt? Awful. So I guess this one is a bit better than Graveyard dirt.

    So in total, no.

  6. Well, let's see.

    Butter? Check.

    Rum? Check.

    Cookie? Wait, where's my cookie?

Sugary, almondy, but no orange rind. A nice comfort-foody scent, perfect for winter, but I don't need a bottle.

ETA: Well, apparently this scent makes everyone else think that something is burning. How embarrasing.

I guess I will keep Gingerbread Poppet as my go-to Winter scent.

  7. I got my CnS on the 7th of November, and until the package arrived today the tracking status on the site did not change. I wasn't worried, but I was starting to wonder when my package would actually get shipped out. Is this common for international CnS?

Because other countries' postal systems don't have access to the USPS system (unlike, say, when you send something via courier and so it is the same company handling the package all the way through), international Click'n'Ships don't update beyond the notification stage. It's annoying that they leave the track&confirm link in the email for internationals, but there's not much to do about that.

I recently moved to Europe and while I'm moving back in 8 months I'm not about to change everything. Paypal, however, doesn't allow you to change a US address to an international one. What should I do? Do you think I could type it in a note or something? It makes it a bit difficult to send oversea gifts, I can imagine.

answers (at) blackphoenixalchemylab (dot) com may have a better idea for you, but it could be an option to send the payment as "other" (rather than "goods), which then does not include your US shipping address with the payment. Can you fit your order and current address in the notes field of the payment?

Aw man. Oh well, I guess that means I can't obsessively be checking it every two hours to see WHERE IS IT NOW and WHEN WILL IT GET HERE?!
