    Harvest Moon 2006

In the imp, I get a very outdoorsy, fresh smell - apple-y and woodsy. On my skin, the apple blends with the wheat, the leaves, and the woods - it's a perfect autumn scent. When it dries, it's a really beautiful blend - it's hard to pick out individual notes.

    Ochosi

In the imp, I smell shea and herbs - it's creamy, yet herbaceous. On my skin, it's very light and refreshing - herbs and wood backed up by a hint of shea. When it dries, it's light, herbaceous - I can see this working really well for someone, but not for me.

    Laudanum

In the imp, wow - something strong - and almost musty - sassafras? poppy? On my skin, it's very harsh and medicinal. When it dries, the nutmeg is there, but everything below that is too strong and harsh.

    Yemaya

In the imp, this is definitely melon-y. On my skin, it's all melon. When it dries, it's a softer, melon-y floral - it's really beautiful.

    The Apothecary

In the imp, this is tea - very clean - with a hint of grass. On my skin, it's still very tea- and grass-prominent - almost something lemony here as well. When it dries, the herbal notes are the most prominent thing now; just barely any tea scent left. I loved the wet phase, but the dry phase is too subtle for me.

    Incantation

In the imp, I get vetiver and lemon, over the woods. On my skin, it's still strongly vetiver, with sandalwood underneath. When it dries, it's all vetiver with a hit of lemon - vetiver's not my favorite thing in the whole wide world, so I'll pass this on.

    Robin Goodfellow

In the imp, it's hard to pick out anything - a little wood and a little sage is all I get. On my skin, I smell sage, heather, and ragwort. When it dries, there's herbs, wood - it's nice, but not for me.

    Obatala

In the imp, I smell something warm & rich that I'm assuming is the shea butter. When it's on my skin, it's creamy and warm - I smell the shea, and a really subtle coconut-y undertone. When it dries, it's still just creamy and sort of shea-y - I can barely smell anything, truth be told.

    Aureus

In the imp, this is harsh - something familiar that I can't place, but it is very medicinal. (Reading reviews, I see the magic words "incense" and "patchouli" - these are not my friends.) On my skin - yes, it's incense and patchouli - lighter on than in the imp, but still not really for me. When it dries - all patchouli - nope!

    Arcana

In the imp, this is lemon verbena and lavender. On my skin, it's - mmm, lemon verbena - there's also just a hint of rosemary's herbalness there. When it dries, it's much lighter than I expected - the lemon verbena has faded, but it's still present, and the lavender and the rosemary have come up for a herbalness that's really nice.

    Drink Me

In the imp, this is sweet and buttery, with a hit of pineapple. On my skin, it's toffee-ish, with the pineapple wafting over it - actually, it smells almost exactly like pineapple upside-down cake!! (Which I love!) When it dries, the pineapple and toffee's faded quite a bit, now it's just buttery baked goods with a hint of cherry and pineapple - sort of a "poor man's Fruitcake". Definitely a keeper!

    Temple Viper

In the imp, this is thick yet sharp - I smell the Snake Oil and the sugar cane with the frankincense & hyssop. On my skin, this is definitely frankcinsense, definitely Snake Oil. When it dries, it's too frankincense-y for me.

    Boomslang

In the imp, this is cocoa - all cocoa. On my skin, it's still just cocoa. When it dries, the Snake Oil comes out - there's almost no cocoa left. And Snake Oil doesn't work for me.

    Anaconda

In the imp, this is sweet - almost caramel-y, with hints of coffee and brown sugar. On my skin, it's sweet tobacco with brown sugar - really yummy. GAH - why do I always love the ones you can't get?!? When it dries - wow wow wow wow wow - it's carmelized brown sugar, with just a hint of the warm sexuality of Snake Oil behind it.

    Habu

In the imp, this is almost fruity. On my skin - I can't explain this - it's very light, and I don't get any sense of the woods; the foundation of the scent is almost chocolate-y. When it's dry, it's so interesting - I don't get any of the scents I'm expecting. I'm passing it along, but it's truly fascinating.

    Death Adder

In the imp, this is all Snake Oil and vetiver. On my skin, it's Snake Oil plus vetiver - two not-so-great tastes (for me) that don't go great together. When it's dry, it's Snake Oil plus vetiver plus a hint of vanilla of coconut. Definitely not for me.

    Green Tree Viper

In the imp, this is strongly, sweetly minty with a touch of vanilla. On my skin, it's minty, sure, but complex - there's vanilla, and a hint of tea. Once it dries, the Indonesian oils from Snake Oil are definitely walking hand-in-hand with the mint - too strong for me.

    Coral Snake (2006)

In the imp, this is spicy up front, and then - mmm, apple-y. On my skin, the apple comes up more, with the gardenia and plumeria in the back. When it dries, there's not as much fruit as I wanted - but very warm, sweet. This is almost a keeper.

    Asp Viper (2006)

In the imp: mmmm, almond - both the cherry-esque almond oil smell and the nutty smell of actual whole almonds. On my skin, it's still almond, just a hint of myrrh and SO's "Indonesian oils" - so far, the best Snake-Oil-based scent yet. When it dries, it's warm and sweet - definitely almond-centric, with a hint of mandarin, but complex underneath. Nice, but not for me.

    Banded Sea Snake (2006)

In the imp, it's surprisingly light & fresh - the mosses float over the Snake Oil. On my skin, I like this quite a bit so far - the mosses and the olive leaf, but with the warmth of the Snake Oil. When it dries, it's really light and nice, but not for me.

    King Cobra (2006)

In the imp, this is rich, spicy - the frankincense is very much up front. On my skin, it's mostly frankincense - there's barely any Snake Oil. When it's dry, it's sweetened up and is more well-balanced, but not for me.
  22. SarahScent44

    Cottonmouth

In the imp, this is surprisingly light - the floral works really well with the Snake Oil. On my skin - this is going to sound strange, but this has an almost cola-ish scent that really works for me, a sort of sharp sweetness. When it's dry, I think this is the Snake-Oil-based scent that comes closest to working on me, but it's just not quite there.
  23. SarahScent44

    Western Diamondback

In the imp, this is sharp, leathery, with an almost medicinal overtone. On my skin, this calms down - the leather is much softer; the sage is still a strong herbal note in the back. When it's dry, the Snake Oil overwhelms everything - and Snake Oil does not love me. Too bad.
  24. SarahScent44

    Saw-Scaled Viper

In the imp, this is smoky and cinnamon-y - it's very strong, very unusual. On my skin, the vanilla from the Snake Oil comes out a little more, and it's quite weird with the cinnamon and the ginger. When it dries, warm, very warm with the cinnamon/ginger - but there's something strange about it that I can't quite pin down.
  25. SarahScent44

    Kumiho

In the imp, I get all tea - mmmm. On my skin, it's still clear, nice tea with the slightest hint of ginger-y heat. When it dries, the ginger becomes much more prominent; the tea is almost gone. Nice, but not a WOW for me.
