  1. I'm going to toss in another big vote for Eat Me, if you'd like to smell like a rich vanilla frosted cake with berries. It's delicious!

Zorya P is gorgeous, a very cool and elegant vanilla.

    Shub-Niggurath really is perfect gingerbread.

Love's Philosophy is my ultimate vanilla, it's what i go for when i want VANILLA lol.

Chimera smells like sticky cinnamon syrup if you like cinnamon buns, it's one of my favorites!

Dana O'Shee smells just like sweet almond marzipan.

I've never tried it myself but Detestable Putrescence in the Gris Grimly category is supposed to smell like melted vanilla ice cream.

  2. I always found Rose Cross in the Sin and Salvation section to be a smoky rose incense.

Rose Cross: A profound symbol of an individual’s personal initiatic process, spiritual refinement and evolution, synthesis, grace found as a result of trial and suffering, and the alchemical process by which we transform the raw essence of our souls through light in extension. This is a holy oil, a representation of the triumph of spirit over matter: purest rose with sacred frankincense.

  3. I love love love creamy scents!

  4.

Ooo Overwatch! Trying not to repeat suggestions. I'm sick as all get out so this is my project for today.

The Intangibles for Orisa is perfect! (and of course Hanzo and Genji are both Ars Draconis scents! I should have thought of that).

Thanks! I was stuck for the Shimada Bros, then a light bulb went off lol. I had a hard time trying to come up with something as great for Junkrat as Agnes Nutter, and didn't realize you also put Djinn down for him.

  6. Ooooh very pretty! Creamy, milky, sweet, flowery and ultra feminine- this is exactly how Easter would smell! It's ladylike with a serious flower child streak. It reminds me a bit of Vasilissa and Venus Verticordia, and after some wear reminds me a lot of Alkmaar/Silky Underwear/Fairy Jasmine from Lush. I've been wishing fervently for an Easter scent for years and I'm not disappointed. Love it!

  7. The subject of our latest #BPAL7wordstory contest was Gluttony. The winning entry was submitted by Crystal Rose-Thompson:

The Sirens Eagerly Beckoned the Approaching Ship

Sea splash on murky labdanum and gleaming olibanum, veiled in lavender, diaphanous osmanthus, gilded saffron, and honey incense.

I guess it's fitting I'm the first to review this one, since I was super lucky enough to have the winning entry! (Thankyouthankyouthankyou Beth!!!)

This is absolutely glorious: my favorite oceanic scent I've ever smelled! They tend to lean too far on the masculine side, or have that dryer-sheet twinge, or turn into salty melons, but this is pure magic! It opens with a cold blast of salt straight from the inky depths of the Atlantic, then gradually warms up to a sea-sprayed incense-clouded, honeyed glow. It makes me think of emerging from a stormy ocean into the cold night air, and coming across a salt-crusted temple just brimming with magical mysteries! It's wild and beautiful and magical, and I am so, so honored to have had a hand in it's creation!

PS- My mother tried it too, and she said it was like being transported to a tropical island. Beautiful and very refreshing!

  8. I'm looking for more feminine scents with a light leather note and a competing vanillic component. Anyone with recommendations beyond Liz, Amaterasu v3, and Clockwork Couture: Female?

The only things I'm not keen to smell with these two notes are anise/sarsaparilla/liquorice and anything too woodsy, piney, minty, nutty or citric. I also am not too keen on masculine scens (such as Disrespect for Established Authority).

Paladin!!! A thousand times. It's sweet, light, complex, and gorgeous. I can't wear masculine leaning blends, and I've always shied away from leather and metal, but Paladin is one of my must haves, I've gotten lots of complements on it.

Paladin- Immaculate white musk, sweet frankincense, bourbon vanilla, white leather, and shining armor.

  9. Very sweet, smoky incense and bright red musk, with the dead leaves giving the overall sweetness some nice depth and interest. It's sexy, wild, a bit rough and raw. I could actually see this working on a guy or masculine lady, similar to Samhain, it reads as rather unisex.

  10. I had a bottle of the original but foolishly swapped it away, then discovered too late I loved it. Every time a BPAL jasmine crossed my path I'd compare it unfavorably to Melisande, which was my perfect jasmine. I finally got around to getting another bottle and remembered why I wanted this sophisticated lady back in my life! She really is my favorite jasmine of all time and the delicious duo of the jasmine and violet is so darkly, deeply, royally PURPLE! The other notes lend a lot of sweetness and sparkle, and make the scent really sing. Very dramatic, elegant, and substantial.

  11. I wanted to try this scent for years, and finally got a bottle. At first I smelled nothing, strangely enough, then it went through a short dryer-sheet phase when wet, and then finally morphed into a gorgeous candied floral/incense very reminiscent of a darker version of my dearly departed Fairy Market! Since that is exactly what I was hoping it would be, I'm over the moon to have a bottle.

  12. I was so excited that my sign had notes I'd actually like, I was expecting something too leathery or dirty for me. This is so complex and gorgeous: dark, purple, fruity incense with the subtle herbal notes adding interest. So mysterious and deliciously witchy, it could easily be a Halloween scent! Scorpio is very dark, but with a sparkling brightness to it, it makes me think of shimmering deep purple satin- dark and decadent!
