  1. TKO and Love's Philosophy had a baby and gave it a buttercream smash cake and I’m here for it! Everyone in the house plus the dog loves this one. Seriously, my BPAL-loving pup barked at me to give it to him.

ETA: I am so smitten with this scent I’m considering my first ever backup bottle! It’s that good! 😍

  2. Oh my, how did this one fly under my radar all these years? It’s delicious syrupy honey vanilla sweetness tempered with spiced, darkened fruit and a slight alcoholic kick. It’s a very smooth and red scent, with both brightness and a deep dark heart, like a cabochon garnet. Blood Kiss reminds me of a sweeter Voluptuous Wantonness, and I prefer BK. I will be needing a bottle!

  3. impable:

High Strung Daisies is a sugary spicy carnation,

Chimera is like Cinnabon in a bottle I looove it in the fall

Persephone is juicy pomegranate and rose

    Bliss is pure milk chocolate

Bon Vivant is realistic champagne with sweet strawberry

Jezebel is a super sweet honey/rose/orange blossom

I also second Titania and Dragons Milk!

    Not impable:

Hope and Faith from the Carnival Diabolique are sugared rose and violet respectively, but not impable, and only sold together,

TKO is also not impable, but is a super popular marshmallow lavender,

Melisandre the Puppet Mistress is my favourite jasmine of all time, very purple-sweet.

I also love Eostre of the Dawn, it’s so sweet and creamy.

  4. Honey is probably my best and favourite note and honey blends are normally a sure bet, so I was surprised when this went so sideways on me. It takes on the same high pitched, burning, on the razor’s edge of pee tone that make caramel and brown sugar not work for me. Maybe it’s the beeswax?

  5. Oh my god, it’s Lush Potion lotion, but better! I was scared to try this because of the bubblegum comments I’d read, but I only get any bubblegum if I really focus on it and squint my nose lol, and it’s only in the wet stages. It’s warm, sweet, creamy, spicy carnation goodness! Very happy, pink and comforting! In these times anything that makes me feel calm and happy quickly is an instant necessity. Bottle, STAT!

  6. Ah, lovely! Real, natural cherries and real, natural pinky-red roses, both fresh and wild and alive. The cherry/rose combo makes me think of Persephone’s pomegranate/rose combo, but brighter. A bright red ruby as opposed to Persephone’s wine-red garnet. It’s simple, beautiful, natural and cheering. Great staying power too!

  7. Can’t speak to how it smells on me, but from the half imp my mom spilled on herself and my nosy labradoodle pup it’s a very nice, calming sea breeze scent with a creaminess to it. It reminds me a bit of some of the milky scents Lush comes out with. I especially like it on my puppy! 😁

  8. Crow Moon 2007 was my first bottle of bpal, which I swapped away because as a 20-something newbie I thought while beautiful, it was too sophisticated for me to ever actually wear. I was delighted when it came back as the new lunacy, I’ve been kicking myself lately wishing I still had it since I suspected I would feel differently now, and I certainly do! Gorgeous, deep, dark evergreen woods with dusky violets and wildflowers peeking out through that chilled minty slush. I can’t speak to how the slight note variations make it differ from previous versions, the scent brought me back to that time like a scent memory does, though I think it may be a bit softer and sweeter. If Skadi was a forest in the dead of winter, and Elf was the same one in summer, Crow Moon is that forest just as winter turns to spring. Magical!

  9. Oh beautiful! All notes are present and accounted for, but the patch is very soft and grounding to the sweetness of the sugary lavender and lovely golden amber. A very warm, comforting scent that just glows. I love it!

  10. Quote

Not with peach in particular, but I know some fruit notes that go artificial on me tend to do a little bit better when they have good base notes like wood or patchouli to fix them so maybe you'd have better luck with Peach Chypre?

You know, that’s a really good idea! Lots of grounding notes in Peach Chypre and I notice there’s no musk in it, which I think was contributing to the “generic perfume” effect. I’ll give that a try, thanks! 😊

  11. I’ve had no luck with peach blends actually smelling like peach. It always ends up smelling like a department store perfume counter on me. I’m eyeing Peach Chypre and Impeachment but I’m wondering if the same thing will happen. Does anyone know any real, fresh peachy peach scents? Maybe I should try apricot instead?

ETA: This has happened with Fae, Cat Chasing Butterflies, and Alleviate the Frenzy.

  12. My Mom likes to make a variation of “maid of honor” jam tarts, which have a soft, creamy filling made of coconut and condensed milk. This smells like an even richer version of the filling. Soooo warm, sweet and yummy. I can’t get over how true the condensed milk note is, it’s bang on! A real comfort scent.

  13. I've been dying to try this one for years, but the pepper made me nervous. I needn't have worried a smidge, this is absolutely glorious! It smells exactly like the description: a sweet, milky cup of black ginger tea (with gobs of honey!) and a trace of linen. The honey is especially light and sweet, and makes me think of Spring. The White Rabbit bunnyhopped straight to the top of my favorites and I need a bottle ASAP, I'm swooning here!

  14. When I first got my bottle there was something about it that made me think of overripe fruit and made me queasy, so for a couple of years it sat in my cabinet unused. I tried it again while gathering possible swap bottles and I'm glad I kept it, because that sickly edge has aged right out! Now it's a beautifully blended creamy pink dream! There's a suggestion of strawberries, like a light blush, but it's not super fruity. Very pretty and princesslike. I love it!
