    Aizen-Myoo

In the Imp: A bitter citrus smell, almost like resin or sap. Wet on skin: The citrus smell gives way to a sweeter, almost fruity-floral scent! Very surprising, very soft and almost glittering. Dry on skin: Like a juicy kind of exotic fruit, mixed with sweet yet soft flowers. Overall: This one really surprised me. It turned from biter-smelling in the imp to a lovely, complex and soft scent. I really like it, and I'm definately considering getting a bottle!

    Phantasm

    In the Imp: A sweet and sour scent of tea and flowers. Wet: A little lemony, but with a twang of something crisp...possibly the jasmine? I'm not sure. Dry: The lemon died down, and it smelled of tea and flowers again. An interesting smell, but it disappears on me so quickly! It was gone after 2 hours. :/ Overall: I liked it, but it's very light on me. If I wore it regularly, I'd probably have to reapply it several times a day. ^^;

    Ulalume

n Bottle: Very pine-y. Wet: Floral and pine. Hmm... Dry: Still didn't smell any of those aquatic notes. Overall: I'm not too big on anything with lilies in them, and it smelled way too forrest-y for my taste. Just doesn't fit me, sadly.

    Omen

n Bottle: Hello, myrrh! Wet: Very sharp and musky, and very strong. Myrrh and patchouli is all I can smell. Dry: Still smells wet and musky, waaaaay too strong for me. Had to wash this off. :/ Overall: Definitely not for me.

    March Hare

In Bottle: Like peaches and cream, almost! Wet: Sweet and summery, like some kind of peach pie drowning in syrup. Dry: Not as sugary, but still very sweet and fruity. The clove is so mild and mixes with the apricot so well, it almost doesn't smell like clove at all! Overall: Nice! I was a little worried about the clove in there at first, because it usually doesn't work on me, but this turned out very nice. I'm usually not a fan of peach/apricot smells, either, but there's just something about the mix of this that really appeals to me. It goes well with Cheshire Cat, too!

    Centzon Totochtin

In the bottle: Like an Irish coffee! Chocolatey, but boozy. Wet: Delicious cocoa! Very sweet, but not sugary-sweet. A more mature, deep sweetness. The red wine scent goes very well with it, like some kind of cocktail party mix. Drydown: A bitter twang of blood starts becoming more noticeable once the sweetness of the chocolate starts dying down a little. It balances out well with the boozy scents, though. Overall: I love this! I might have to get a bigger bottle in the future, it's so unique and I love that it has something to do with partying bunnies.

    Budding Moon

In bottle: Sweet and flowery, like sugared peony. Wet: Crisp, but still floral. The ginger and musk are whisper-soft, and not overpowering. Dry: The florals fade a little, but it still smells very clean and fresh, like a journey through a lush, Asian garden in the spring at night. Overall: I was a little worried when I saw "lotus" in there, lotus has a tendency to go bubble-gum on me--but thankfully it's lotus ROOT, so if you have similar issues with lotus, don't worry about it. This was a very lush, yet refreshing scent. I might have to get more of it!

    Snow Bunny

In the bottle: Piney, with a hint of something aquatic. Wet: Green trees, wet snow, a bit of light florals. Dry: The green notes died down a bit, but still linger. It's a lot sweeter when dry, like berries or a sweetened floral. Overall: A very fresh scent (without smelling like an air freshener!) that's sweet and feminine. I love it! It really does make me think of playing outside in the snow.

    Intrigue

In the bottle: Warm and inviting. Woody with a hint of cocoa. Wet: Still very warm, but a little sweeter. The fig gave it an almost citrusy tang, but the wood and the cocoa smells sweeten and tame it well. A good balance of sweet-and-sour. Dry: Almost boozy, but sweeter. Still very deep and warm. Overall: A great scent! It made me think of staying up late reading a book in front of a fireplace and drinking wine. My fiance even used the word "intriguing" when I asked him to smell it.

    Hollywood Babylon

In the bottle: Flowery and elegant. Wet: Berries! Lots of berries! Strawberry was the dominating berry scent, though. It smelled like jam, almost. Dry: The berries and heliotrope worked very well together, I think. It started out smelling almost too sweet, but the flowers help it smell a little less "OMG, CANDY!". Overall: A nice light, feminine scent. I dunno if I'd buy a big bottle, but I'll probably wear it again.

    Belladonna

In the bottle: Hello, eucalyptus! Wet: Strong eucalyptus, mint, and some flowery, wet earthy smells. A sharp stab of something in there, too...I almost want to say pine. Dry: Not as strong, but my my my, that eucalyptus overpowered everything! Overall: Not bad, but not for me. If you like very green, sharp scents, though, you should definately give this a try.

    Shango

In the bottle: Very sweet and juicy. Wet: Like some kind of amazing fruit cocktail drink! Dry: Fruity, but not overly so. The chili powder added a great little kick to it, too. Overall: Very fun and fresh. This is a great summer scent!

    Tum

In the bottle: Bitter. Raisins and cloves. Wet: Slightly sweeter, but still heavy on the raisiny, clovey smell. Dry: Didn't work with me at ALL. I had to go wash this off. It made me smell bitter, bitter, and more bitter. Overall: A lot of people seemed to love this, so I was disappointed when this came out so bitter on me. :/ Ah, well.

    Blood Kiss

In the bottle: Sweet, but spicy. I could really smell the clove. Wet: Sweet, but DARK. Has an almost coppery twang to it, which made me think of real blood. VERY strong, too, this had an insane amount of throw on me right from the start. Dry: The clove and musk finally settled down after about an hour or two, and turned into a deep, sweet smell. Overall: I generally don't like really husky, heavy scents...but this was actually a really nice one! Usually I don't like heavy scents because they're bitter and too cologne-y, but this was sweet and rich with musky overtones. It lasts a LONG TIME, though--I put this on last night, and I still smell like it. This would be a great scent for going to a party/club, I wouldn't need to worry about reapplying at ALL, I think.

    Forbidden Fruit

In the bottle: Very fruity! Wet: Still fruity, but a little deeper and not as sweet. Dry: Uh-oh. Lotus. This starts smelling like bubblegum. :/ Overall: Lotus has a tendency to smell way too bubblegum-y on me, sadly. I really liked it in the bottle, and wet for the first 2-5 minutes...but as it started to dry, I started smelling like a gumball. :/ Darn.

    The Deep Ones

In the bottle: Satly but sweet...kinda lke saltwater taffy. Wet: Still salty, but very cirtusy, with a hint of florals. Dry: Saltiness dried down a bit, still a tad citrusy. Overall: It wasn't bad, but I don't think it works well on me. A great aquatic scent, for those who like them!

    Gluttony

In the bottle: Hazelnut and cinnamon...kind of like a thick latte smell. Wet: A little more sugary-sweet. I smelled the chocolate for all of 5 minutes and then it was gone. Dry: I smelled like the baking pans after a tray of cinnamon rolls, I think. Overall: It made me very hungry. My fiance seemed to like it, too. I'm thinking I might have him try it on, maybe he'd like it more than me. But still a nice scent. Might be better suited for a Christmas party.

    Ultraviolet

In bottle: Sharp mint and eucalyptus. Wet: I instantly smelled the metallics mixed with the lavender. It literally smells like it's description: it reminded me of cold, wet metal with flowers smeared over them. Drydown: The mint faded quickly, but in a good way. It smelled like I was standing in the rain, next to a big city flower market. Urban, but feminine. Dry: Eucalyptus and lavender are all that remain, and are still fairly strong. Overall: I bought an imp on my quest to find a replacement for Neo-Tokyo. While this scent isn't the same, there's a similar feeling to it. I may have to buy a larger bottle of this!

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Okay, so I got an imp of Ultraviolet today. It has a similar metallic/urban scent to it...but the floral is, of course, lavender instead of cherry blossom. And there's no citrusy-ness to it. But it IS similar. To others who liked Neo-Tokyo, I think it's worth a try. I might end up with a full bottle of this one!

Thanks for the great suggestions! I have an old imp of Kyoto around here somewhere, I'll see if I can layer it with something(s)...I'll report back any findings for other Neo-Tokyo lovers. ;D

    Strawberry Moon 2005

This was one of the first imps I ever got. In the bottle: Sweet strawberry with a crisp, clean edge. Wet on the skin: A bit of spice, but still very fresh and sweet smelling. Dry: Reminds me of strawberry shortcake on a warm summer night. Too bad this was an LE, I would've bought a full bottle of it.

    Kyoto

In the bottle: Very sweet cherry smell, almost candy-like. Wet on the skin: Sandalwood overpowered everything else, couldn't smell any star anise. Dry: Still very sandalwood-y, but finally the cherry smell comes out and lingers around a bit with the anise. Overall: Not bad, but it might not be for my skin. Maybe my imp was a little old (I got it in a sale). (edit: tried a newer imp recently, and it was MUCH nicer! Not "OMG SANDALWOOD" like the first time. I might have to buy a larger bottle in the future.)

    Lolita

In the imp: A spicy floral with a hint of lemon. Wet: Spicy, almost peppery. Citrus-y playing with lazy florals. Drying: The citrus dries down a bit, leaving a heavy, wet floral scent. Overall: Nice, but too lemony for my skin. Even after the citrus died down, I got comments that it smelled almost like a grandma's flowery perfume on me. :/ Sad.

    Alice

In the bottle: Very sweet and floral...I want to say roses. Wet: The honey was the first thing I noticed, followed by a light spiciness, then the roses. It was a very sweet, feminine smell. Dry: Sipping tea in a rose garden. Overall: Very graceful, but tart. A great formal scent that's still playful and innocent.

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Ah, that's a great idea, I didn't even think of layering! I'll see if I can try that. An update: I tried Shattered, and while it was pretty nice, it's not that close to Neo-Tokyo. :/ Too minty, and when it started drying on me, it was really bubble-gum-y. Ah, well.
