  1. So far I'm having bad luck in the District and it continues here.

Initially I get a blast of honey, but then it fades into lemony cough drops. That I would be able to handle, but for some reason (maybe the honey?) it seems to have a rancidness or rottenness underneath. Very sad.

  2. This was a freebie with a recent order from the lovely lab.

My skin devours this. Right after applying the oil I can barely smell it without sticking my nose directly to my arm.

What I can smell, however, is quite nice. A little masculine (from the metals, maybe?) but really nice.

I'm not trusting any reaction to this until I can really get a whiff of it, though.

  3. I love the way this smells, a lovely mixture of sweet with a dash of spice. Unfortunately, it hangs way too close to the skin, I can barely smell it unless I stick my nose to my arm.

But I really, really love the way it smells.

  4. This was a freebie from the Lab and I am happy they threw it in. I looked at the description when putting an imp pack order together, but passed it up as it didn't sound like something I would like.

On me it starts off spicy herbalicious and then softens a bit. It's a little while before the powderiness creeps in and even then it's not the dreaded baby powder.

I don't think I need a big bottle, but the imp isn't going anywhere.

  5. Praise the Lab! No Obnoxious Rose Explosion! It's a scent with rose that I can wear! Until it starts to turn to baby powder after a few minutes. I like the first stage of this enough that I might try the last resort: scent locket.

  6. I keep trying the bookish scents, hoping for the perfect one to go with my ever growing book addiction.

    Lurid Library? Bust.

The Buggre All this Bible? Just tobacco. I keep waiting for the tobacco to go away, but I'm starting to think that my body just amps tobacco as the same thing happened with the last blend.

So very sad. I really wanted to love this.

  7. I was a little wary of trying this because my skin tends to amp roses to the extreme and florals can trigger bad headaches, but so far everything is balanced so perfectly that I'm really liking it.

I'm not really getting anything old ladyish so far. To me it seems more like a young girl walking through a misty morning garden.

So far it's my favorite of the Gaiman scents.

  8. Got this as part of decant circle. Misplaced it and just found it.

    Wet: Mmm. Creamy goodness.

Dry: Oh my stars. I LOVE this. Still creamy, but I can smell some of the other notes joining the party. Hopefully, it will turn to baby powder so I don't have to kick myself for not springing for a bottle.

A bit later: Drat. I just keeps getting better! *kicks self*

  9. Wet: Old Spice? Hello, nostalgia!

Immediately, as it begins drying, it starts to soften a bit and some florals start peeking through. But it smells like a slightly floral Old Spice. Weird.

  10. (2006 version)

In the bottle I'm getting a strong, but lovely apple scent. Mmm.

As it dries, however, the apple disappears completely and I'm left with a very, very strong floral women's perfume that is beginning to give me a headache.

  11. I was a little worried about trying this because my body tends to amp Rose notes up to eleven, but the orange blossom made me want to try it.

Wet: ACK! Attack of the Roses of Doom!

Dry: Hmm... Hey, the roses are backing down a little. This smells really nice. Wait a minute... Catherine? Catherine? Where did you go?

My skin seemed to just gobble this up. Maybe I'll give it a go in a scent locket and see what happens.

  12. Unfortunately, from wet to dry this just smells like black licorice to me and I am not a fan of black licorice at all. Very decent throw so far though, if anyone's interested.

ETA: It's settled down now into something spicy. Not really getting anything green or bright smelling.

  13. My body chemistry has definitely changed recently. I used to love this as sort of a more formal bpal, for a special occasion. Suddenly it just straight to a headache-inducing floral explosion. Sad. Maybe I can find a better home for it.

  14. From wet to dry all I'm getting is a very smoky incense that is making me nauseous. Must go scrub it away.

Why does this oil have such tremendous throw on me when the one I just tried that I loved turned nonexistent within 15 minutes?

Ugh. Feel like I'm in the middle of a smoke cloud. It's actually making me feel like I have to cough.

  15. Wet: A musky explosion with some woods-yness. I'm a little worried because my body seems to amp cedar and woods in general and the more time that goes by the more wood I smell (to the exclusion of everything else).

Dry: The scent seem to be disappearing quickly into my skin. If I stick my nose close enough I still get whispers of... woods.

    Darn.

I wanted to love you, my favorite bookstore-owning angel.

  16. As with the others I'm definitely getting lavender as well, but the lavender is tempered with something sweet. It's lovely.

The only thing I'm worried about is that this seems to be heading into "air freshener" territory with me. *crosses fingers*

  17. On me this is either a very floral aquatic or a very aquatic floral. Florals have a tendency to overwhelm me, but the dreamy aquatic notes in this seem to balance everything out (so far). It's a very clean smell, relaxing and gorgeous.

Unless the florals sneak up and bash me on the head, this is probably a keeper.

ETA: Drat. As soon as I finished typing that I was hit in the face by a wave of florals. They seem to have beaten the aquatics into submission and now I'm kind of surrounded by a floral air freshener scent.

  18. Honestly, I just ordered it because I love the name.

I'm getting a weird "salty" smell from this. If I get very close I can almost make out something citrus-y hiding behind it, but it's fading very fast and all I can really tell is that it's not for me.

  19. (2008 version)

I got all excited about this because some of the notes are right up my alley, but as soon as I put it on something just smells wrong to me. My nose wrinkles and just... no. I wish I could put my finger on what in this blend has such an effect on me, but my nose just says no.
