  1. This is soooooo good. In the bottle it's a bit strong on the creamy note, but on the skin it is pure Hershey's chocolate with almond! I was sniffing it last night and accidentally touched my nose to the lid - which means I smelled it for the next hour. Normally I'm like, "gaaah!!" but this was an "ooooo!"

Love it! Except for the staying power - it was gone in an hour. :(

  2. Oya

Hmmmm. This is a morphing scent. First of all, it's thick. Like runny honey. And the oil itself appears iridescent. Or maybe that was because I was driving while I was examining it.

    Goes on super strong incense.

    Quickly fades to lemon/lime citrus/incense.

Fades about an hour later into Aramis men's cologne.

  3. I think this is a dark horse BPAL. It's one of those scents that doesn't have many reviews and kind of falls by the way side. But it's lovely! It goes on strong cologne and pretty much stays that way. It's too strong for me, but I put some on my husband and son, and they smell fabulous!

  4. I just don't know how she does it! This smells exactly like champagne and tobacco. Not cigars exactly, but still..... what oils would one combine to get a champagne scent?!?!? The woman is a olefactory genius.

Now for the review! Sweet champagne on me. Fades to faint champagne and wet tobacco. I don't love it at all, but I love the idea and I appreciate the complexity.

  5. This has a surprisingly great throw! I tend to have anything with green tea get completely watered down on my skin but this hangs around nicely. No neroli or jasmine THANK GOD, but the lemon pops as soon as it's applied. Initially it did have a cleanser odor, but dried down it's really not intense at all. Bottle worthy!

  6. Wet I get the woody tone, with a little pine (? maybe ?) and lemon. On, it's lilke a man's cologne. After an hour or so, it drys down to a faint lemon balm with a bit of vetiver. While this is very nice, it's more for my husband.

I was hoping I could get more of the burnt sandalwood, because I'd really love to know what that smells like!

  7. Has anyone else noticed that Aeval smells very similar to Snow White? I can't be the only one. This smells like fresh from the Lab Snow White. With a dash of sparkly clean thrown in. I like this, and I'm surprised because I didn't think I would.

  8. Love this blend! I've had this imp for ever, and never tried it. I really enjoy the grape and plum, which makes me thrilled because I just ordered from the new update a blend that has plum! I think I'm going to love it! Back to Purple Phoenix: watery grapes. Lovely! Sigh.... now I have to go hunt up a bottle.

  9. I really really like this, but it is an odd scent on my skin. Something reminds me of childhood. I'd say the incense, but we never went to church. It really has a strong scent of powder on me, so that may be the de ja vu. What I like most about this is the deepness it has. It has lasted for over an hour on me, although it doesn't have much throw. I have an imp of this, not sure if I'd want a bottle, but I do like it.

  10. Hmmm. In the imp this was all fruit and flowers. On the skin it was really strong flowers. Dried down after half an hour all I get is a whisper of lily of the valley. :(

Maybe I need to apply more, because the notes in this are much of what I like (except for jasmine and carnation).

    Overall rating? So-so.

  11. In my hometown, there is a small boutique that carries bath & body products, cool hemp and organic clothing/shoes/purses, and other cute little things. They have an old fashioned, white claw footed bathtub in the middle of the room, and it overflows with soap. Soaps from around the world. Many Asian, Indian, British.

I love that bathtub and always spend the majority of my time in that store with my head hanging in the tub.

It's been about an hour since I applied Silk Road, and it's mellowed to smell exactly like when I stick my head in that bathtub to pick out soaps.

The scent is a mingling of many earthy, natural notes. It also smells clean, but oddly without that odor mostly associated with clean scents, like linen or breeze or aquatic.

    Another on the bottle list!

  12. Another one I didn't think I would like but I do! I usually stay away from the Lab's rose scents because they smell so true to life. I like the soapy, old fashioned rose scents. Which are very similar to what this is. It reminds me of my Grandma, which is sweet and nostalgic. I'm getting a bottle of this for spring.

Has really great staying power, too!
