  1. In the bottle: Sweet floral with smoky incense. Wet: Sweeter and more floral; less smoky. Still heavy on the incense. I'm definitely picking out the lilac and weeping cherry. I don't usually like smoky stuff but this smoke is not bad; it's very woodsy. Really unique blend, this one. Dry: Really delicious floral-woodsy incense. Summary: I love it, but it's not a skin-scent for me. A room scent, more like. I must say it's very well concocted and fits the description/concept perfectly.

    The Cup of Death

In the bottle: Green-planty (like new leaves), fresh, hint of sharpness, and slightly sweet. Wet: Much more floral & sweeter - mmm peach blossom - but there's still a goodly amount of fresh greenness. It also smells like some of the lunar oils to me too. I'm thinking the greenery must be myrtle( I really liked it in another oil also) and peach tree leaf, maybe the blue yarrow too? There is an herbal note present. Dry: Herbal-green with touches of fruit and flowers. Quite lovely! This could be a bottle buy for me.

    The Ecstacy of St. Theresa

Frankincense, iris, white gardenia, Roman chamomile, amber, and agarwood. In the bottle: Sweet and herbal. Wet: Gardenia, BAM. Chamomiles comes in closely behind, and amber and frankincense are strongly present as well. The iris is there, but distant. I think I can maybe smell something else that's resin-y and must be agarwood. Dry: The iris has sprung to the forefront, and is battling it out with Gardenia. Between the two of them, I can no longer smell anything else. And I am not a fan of iris, so off to the sink I go. Summary: Powerful gardenia and iris.

    Sunrise With Sea-Monsters

In the bottle: Soapy- light green aquatic, can smell the pear and floral notes. Wet: Much more floral, and while still clean, it's not too soapy. I'm totally smelling the salty-kelp too, and a breezy scent - amazing. The pear is nice and light; barely sweet. The osmanthus is not too heady so far; it's playing nice. I love the freesia which I think is the dominant note coming out right now. There's a hint of dry warmth in the background which must be the amber. Dry: Damn. I think it's giving me a headache. So far dry it's virtually the same as wet, though I can tell the pear is fading and would be totally gone after an hour or so. I can detect the osmanthus though the freesia is much stronger. It doesn't seem to be going too soapy or powdery. But I'm going to wash it off now. Moderate-to-strong throw.

Itasô Kansei Nenkan Jorô No Fûzoku

In the bottle: Sweet, green-herbal, and light florals. Wet: Sweeter, more floral, still herbal but less green-fresh. The honey and sugar cane are really lovely, as are the hibiscus and ti leaf - each coming out strongly and yet still distinctly - amazing! Hint of a mildly soapy floral. Dry: A bit soapier, but tolerably so - it gets away as being 'fresh'. Honey and sugar cane are strong but not too sweet - lovely together, as in Gennivre, one of my faves. Hibiscus still strong; ti leaf has faded a wee bit, and overall this is fresher than it was wet, but less herbal. Summary: Complex, slightly-sweet fresh herbal-floral, with sugar cane dominating but not overwhelming. In the end, a little oakmoss and musk even came out too! Happy goodness. I have a bottle of this one.

    Cupid Complaining to Venus

In the bottle: Sweet, delicately fruity. Wet: Still fruity, but less sweet. Sandalwood coming out strongly, and that fruit is definitely apple and peach. The thyme is there but faint. Fruit overwhelms, with sandalwood underlying. Dry: The honey has really emerged, the sandalwood has faded, and the thyme has disappeared. The fruit is still majorly strong, and the peach and fig have amped especially; the apple blossom barely remains. Summary: Sweet, cloying fruit. Yech.

    Garden Path With Chickens

In the bottle: Strong, sharp, & green. Almost bitter. Wet: Wow, nasturtiums. Spicy-peppery- green. Grassy. Some gentler florals linger in the background as do some herbal notes. This most certainly evokes a garden - very outdoorsy! Dry: The florals have strengthened substantially; I can now detect the heliotrope and other florals I don't individually recognize. If I really sniff, I can get a bit of bergamot too. The nasturtium is less overpowering. Summary: Spicy-herbal-floral. This one morphs alot, but in the long run it's quite lovely and balanced. I can see this being a great scent on men, though I like it on myself quite a bit. I think, unfortunately, that it's irritating my rosacea (even though I didn't put it on my face!). Alas.

Spirit of the Komachi Cherry Tree

In the bottle: Fruit and flowers with a hint of sandalwood. Very feminine. Wet: More floral and sandalwood; the fruitiness fades to the background. I can definitely smell the cherry blossom and lilac. The cherry blossom is the strongest note, fittingly enough. Dry: Cherry blossom still going strong; the other notes have faded alot, other than the honey which is very nice and has come out. Over time though the honey comes out more and more on me (I seem to amp honey, and that's good, bc I like honey) and the cherry blossom fades. Summary: In the end it's mostly honey on me, with a very tiny hint of cherry blossom - but I like my Gennivre as far as honey scents go more, so this is up for swap. It's a lovely scent though!

    Silence

In the bottle: Sweet, sharp floral. Wet: Less sweet, sharper and more floral. Heady-type floral. Iris very strongly. Definitely some musk and plum blossom. Dry: Still very heavy on the iris, other notes still there but less strongly, and the peach has come out. I'm not getting mint. The moonflower has gone predictably soapy on me. Summary: Lotus and moonflower - evil stuff on me.

    Cold Moon

In the bottle: Sweet, very fruity floral. Wet: Strawberry-ish? Still much as in the bottle. Not at all what the description evokes for me! Dry: I feel like there is something minty in here, maybe, giving it a coolness. It's still super sweet and fruity, and a slow-drying oil. The floral notes have a emerged a bit. Summary: Lunar-woodsy floral with some fruity sweetness. Meh, too sweet.

    Tamamo-no-Mae

In the bottle: Fruity-sweet, floral-herbal. Benzoin, strawberry? Wet: Still fruity but less sweet, more herbal-resiny - the tea, benzoin, and sandalwood. Sort of warm, creamy, and soft. Definitely musky. Dry: Soft, sweet, musk. I find this to be a very comforting scent. I want to cuddle into it. Average throw, good wearlength. Nice, but I won't wear it.

    Rose Moon

In the bottle: Dusty rose, something sharp. Wet: Rosier, still quite dusty, almost powdery. I can smell some heady floral-type notes. Dry: I'm getting powder-soap now, and the lemon peel, on top of dusty rose. Summary: Soapy old-lady.

    Christmas Rose

Sniffed in imp: Sweet and piney.

    The Haunted Palace

In the bottle: Sweet, rosy cinnamon. Wet: Sweeter, spicier. Still some rose but some other florals too; yes, I can detect the heliotrope. Definitely something giving this scent warmth - the amber and the vanilla? Amazingly, I still like it (vanilla doesn't usually work for me)! And the musk in this is nice, sexy. I'm thinking the cinnamony-smell is the toasted vanilla. Dry: I'm getting some really yummy fruit now, must be the blood orange but it registers as apple to me - wow, delicious! The rose and heliotrope have faded and the gardenia is peeking out. Something in this has also turned woody on me, and it's providing great depth. Summary: This is totally not a scent I would ever thing to try, with the vanilla and amber, and I don't even like it that much at first, but it morphs quite well on my skin. Overall, I'm impressed by its complexity and mutability. It's still not something I'd wear, but I have to admit it's yummy.

    Dreamland

In the bottle: Fresh green floral; iris base. Wet: Heady white-green floral, a little soapy (damn you tuberose). Strong throw. IRIS, amping like crazy on my skin. Thankfully there's some nice musk preventing me from washing this off ASAP (as I'm not a fan of tuberose and iris). There's a mild, underlying sweet note, perhaps the phlox? I'm not getting any carnation. There's also a fruity-floral-heady sort of note, maybe the osmanthus? Dry: I'm getting a 'dry' feel now, not the wet greenery of in-the-bottle. And it's getting sweeter and even more floral as time goes on, and I don't like the florals, so ughh. Time to wash off; it's making me feel ill. Summary: Heady, sweet floral with powerful throw.

    Oisin

In the bottle: Very very light herbal floral. Wet: The same. So faint though! I amp florals and I'm BARELY amping this. Ok, slathering some more. Now I am getting a sort of 'fresh' clean scent, herbal-cologne-y. A little bit of sweetness. Dismal throw - by far the weakest oil I've ever smelled, maybe it was diluted with another oil? it's still not dry after 10 min, even when I didn't slather, but I can barely smell it. Dry: Okay, I'm getting a WEE bit of musk, but barely...and usually I can detect musk right away and usually I amp it too. I'm getting a nice herbal-woody smell too. Definitely a gender neutral scent, not strongly one way or the other. Summary: The musk and the woods emerge much more fully over time, such that in the long term it's very woodsy (oakmossy) musk, and at this point it's STRONG, which is a little mind-boggling - how did it go from weak to strong throw? I end up quite liking it, but it's not really distinctly feminine enough for me for frequent wear. SECOND REVIEW (first review was on May 3rd 2008 from a full lab imp, the following from July 13 2008 and a different testable sniffie/decant): In the bottle: Extremely pale yellow. Sweet, fresh, crisp. Most notably herbal, but somewhat aquatic. A bit of sharp white musk, and maybe some fougere, as this has a cologne-y feel. Touch of lavender and faint white florals. Wet: Sweetly herbal, quite musky, fresh and clean and verging on aquatic. Almost fruity. There's definitely fruit (currant? apple?) of some sort in this, which gives it a tart, juicy feel that verges on citrusy. Quite unisex. Soft florals (freesia, lily, apple blossom). Grassy and a bit mossy too. That same gorgeous bright, floral and softly herbal, blue-vibed lavender from Yvaine, that gives this a shining feel. Dry: Dries slowly. I find this more springlike in feel, but it's probably geared towards summer wear because it's so light, brisk and refreshing. I think there is some truth to being a cologne version of Leanan Sidhe as sarada notes. Also (thanks L-z_Empress!), it does remind me a bit of RL's Romance - a favourite perfume of mine - though it's a bit sweeter and less floral, and less overtly feminine. A bit of a soapy edge has emerged, but it's quite pleasant and adds a clean, shower-fresh feel - making it more unisex. Later: Still, the apple blossom remains strong and sweet, as does the red currant/blackberry/huckleberry (it's one of these, and bears a resemblance to all 3 - so either an unusual berry, or red currant). The musk has amped into a sexy, shining thing. A floral (lily?) has taken on a creamy feel. I think sweet, resiny benzoin adds to this creaminess while providing a bit of earthy depth. Summary: In the final drydown the sexy white musk shines brilliantly, augmented by fresh white flowers along the lines of freesia and lily (amongst others I'm guessing), apple blossom that adds a gentle sweetness, and a sweetly earthy and softly vanillic benzoin and earthy oakmoss base. A hint of the lovely juicy-tart wild berry scent provides a crisp edge. Though rather distant, softly floral lavender and grass notes add an outdoorsy herbal feel. Unisex, but slightly feminine on my skin. Good throw and great lasting power. If you like this, try: The Oblation, Yvaine, The Unicorn, 51, The East, Kitsune-Tsuki I tried another (full) imp of this many months ago and it literally smelled like NOTHING - it was incredibly weak and my review was not very complimentary. I am now utterly convinced that imp had been diluted and possibly also contaminated. THIS I absolutely adore and must acquire more of. It's so bright and shimmering and yet deep and rich.

    Chiroptera

A bat-friendly bouquet! Evening primrose, night-scented stock, moonflower, night phlox, lemon balm, lavender, honeysuckle, sweet sage, salvia and thyme. In the bottle: Green, clean, sharp with a hint of sweetness. Wet: Sweeter, more floral. Green scents tend to go this way on me, I think. I smell something faintly soapy, which must be giving me that 'clean' note. I can detect the lavender and the thyme - the latter is really lovely. I can find the sage and honeysuckle if I really search for them, but they're more subtle and blended. This oil dries REALLY slowly. Dry: Much less sweet now, and I don't know if I'm focusing on it or what, but the thyme seems to have come out even more. Still a bit of soapiness, verging on too much but still tolerable. The lavender is a bit stronger now too. Summary: Sadly, in the end the soapiness became a bit too much, overwhelming the lovely soft herbiness of this oil. This oil has excellent throw - even after several hours, it's still not fully dry on me!

    Selkie

In the bottle: Fresh green and cool, cucumbery. Definitely aquatic. Wet: Sweeter, fruity, melon maybe? Still very cool, green and cucumbery. Dry: Floral coming out, something rather heady that I don't like much, orris-like. It's also making my rosacea flare. Summary: Cool waters and heady florals, with a hint of oakmoss in the longrun. Reminds me greatly of The Gibbous Moon.

    Peony Moon

In the bottle: Peonies, fresh green things, with a hint of fruit and soap. Wet: Sweeter, much more distinctly fruity - maybe strawberry? Gah, why does my skin amp sweetness usually when it's not so much my thing? Fortunately the floral is amped too, peony and something else. I can barely smell any green notes. Why do things nearly always smell better in the bottle? Dry: Strawberry still there. Something spicy-woodsy has come out, it's maybe even a bit smoky, and it's taking over. Everything else has faded away virtually completely. Summary: Spicy-woodsy-smoky strawberry. Not my thing.

    Storm Moon

In the bottle: Sharp ozone with floral and herbal-astringent hints. Wet: Much greener-herbal. Very clean, but not too soapy. Floral slightly stronger, and ozone very faint. Dry: This is pretty darn masculine. Cologne-y, astringent herbs, whisps of delicate flowers, over that drizzle of ozone-rain. Summary: Masculine, clean ozone with touches of herbs and flowers.

    Swan Maiden

In the bottle: Lily of the valley, other white florals. Wet: Crazy strong muguet, iris, and orchid - all potentially terrible florals on me. Which I had not yet learned when I decided to get this imp. Alas. I had to wash this one off right away.

    Sea of Tranquility

Silver-dusted lotus, white amber, rose otto, passion flower, white sandalwood, buttonweed, and white poppy. In the bottle: Dry, slightly sweet, spicy floral. Wet: Very faint. Still dry, but less sweet, and there's a sparkling quality. The florals are classic and soothing, and a tad bit soapy. Dry: The florals have faded a bit and the amber and sandalwood have really amped. Still that hint of sparkling quality, though, despite the dryness. Summary: Dry, classic white floral Meh. Dry, generic.

    Hunger Moon

In the bottle: Sweet lemon and woods (pine almost), with underlying spice and herbs. Wet: Warmer. I think the amber is giving it that sweetness and also some of the warmth. The sandalwood in this is really lovely, and the verbena isn't as overwhelming as it is in some blends, though my skin is still amping it. I can smell the citrus rind as well; two citruses are definitely present. Oakmoss and sage love my skin, and are providing delicious herbal depth. Dry: Amber and sandalwood reign, with a touch of citrus, and it's wonderfully well balanced. The oakmoss and sage hid for a while but have come back, I think because the citrus faded a bit to expose them. Too dry for me, but a lovely blend.
