    Aglaea

In the vial (initial impression): Wow, bubble gum and wine? What a curious sensation this is! *curious* Initially on (wet): The bubble gum breaks into other components, amber and myrtle and musk, and the peach wine lingers in the background. It's rich and lovely! Mm! For a moment I get a pinch of orange in there, for some bizarre reason. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it has grown very spicy, with a soft background. The myrtle seems overwhelming. 20-30 mins later, the myrtle is still stinging my nose, but the other notes are coming through better. An hour later, it is much softer and MUCH more pleasant. Mmm, peach and amber... Finally: I'll happily keep this one! ^^ Unsure of when I should use it, but... keeping!

    Persephone

Beautiful, radiant daughter of Demeter... her loveliness was so exquisite that even Hell itself could not resist her. Pomegranate and rose. In the vial (initial impression): Mmm, pomegranate! I adore the fruit itself, and its taste, so this is sweet to my very soul. Initially on (wet): I could really do without the rose, because it's good enough without it! I wish my skin would bring out the pomegranate more. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, the pomegranate is coming through more, but the rose is still "in the way" of it. 20-30 mins later, that pesky rose is still bugging me. An hour and a half later, it has nearly faded away entirely, but the pomegranate is at least prominent. Finally: Really ambivalent about this one! I think it'll go in my swap pile...

    Endymion

It smells pleasantly of lilies and fruit, but ack, since it broke in the transport, there is not much else to say. Shame!

    Antique Lace

In the vial (initial impression): Soft vanilla that reminds me of - yeah, lace! It's soft, humble, and aged. Initially on (wet): I still get vanilla, but soft and not as "warm" as I've come to expect out of vanilla-notes. It's soft. So soft! Ahhhh... Wearing it (dry): After 10 mins, the vanilla has faded into my skin a bit, and it really feels like smelling linen. It's wonderful and soothing! 40 mins after application, it's still a heavenly soft, soothing and warm scent. Mmm. Finally: Keeping.

    Bathsheba

In the vial (initial impression): Sharp carnation and musk. Tickles my nose! Initially on (wet): As usual, my skin goes all "green!!" and that's all I can sense before it dries. Wearing it (dry): After 30 mins, it's really rich and warm - it's mostly musk to my nose, but there's certainly something else playing in the background. It's almost gone a little spicy, like mulled wine. An hour later, it's much softer and more of a harmony. Nice! Finally: It wasn't what I expected, even though it was pleasant, so this goes back in the swap pile.

    Arachne

In the vial (initial impression): It does smell like mist! Mist in an ancient woodland, where dreams come alive... *eyes glaze over* Initially on (wet): This confuses my nose, because I've never encountered anything like this before - it smells like melon, cucumber, and then something warmer that I can't identify. Not quite vanilla and not quite chocolate, although it does remind me of chocolate milk. Wearing it (dry): 10 mins later, the scnt remains fresh, but has warmed up a bit. It just feels... warmer. It's quite perplexing. 20 mins after application, it has gone a little more fresh and fruity again, but not overly so. I never expected it to hit me as melon and cucumber scents! It's a very sensational and unexpected scent, but I enjoy it. After half an hour, it's a better harmony of notes, and a pleasant and dreamscape-like one at that. It remains "gossamer" indeed, and even after an hour it's a peculiar fresh-but-spooky scent. Finally: Keeper! This'll be my Serqet/scorpion scent. ^^ (I can't believe this scent was recently discontinued! How very sad...)

    Nuit

In the vial (initial impression): The softest jasmine ever tempts my senses. It's so gentle that I think I may have imagined it all together. Initially on (wet): Soft, soft jasmine - how can such a powerful flower go so meek and humble? I'm a little amazed. There are tiny specks of "ugh green" in there, but I expect it'll die down once my skin realizes that florals are not all evil. (Please?) Wearing it (dry): After 10 minutes, it has grown a little braver. White musk, jasmine and something possible incense-like blend in perfect harmony. It really makes me think of a warm summer night, in a garden under starry skies. 30 mins after application, it has grown a little stronger yet, with more jasmine, and I think I can pick out more incense and even a liitle of the moss now! Mmm, moss. An hour later, it has changed quite a bit - the cool florals have been overpowered by the moss and (primarily) the incense. It seems much darker now - indeed like a black sky with little starry specks. Finally: I really enjoyed this one, though I confess that I don't know quite what to wear it for. I'll ponder that for a moment...

    Black Pearl

In the vial (initial impression): It confuses my nose - florals, and not, and it keeps... morphing! I'm fascinated. I've GOT to try this on! Initially on (wet): Piercing iris, but with the slightest coconut background. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, the coconut, musk and iris (and hazelnut?) all blend softly and wonderfully. Mmm. 20-30 mins after application: Mmmm, exotic and oddly... spherical! What a strange word for a scent. ^^; An hour later, it's a bit faded, but overall a highly pleasant scent. Finally: A keeper for the moment.

    Black Lotus

In the vial (initial impression): It's dark, yet oh so tempting. It's strange, because it reminds me of a certain type of candy that used to be around when I was much younger. I'm hopelessly in love - let's see how long this infatuation lasts! Initially on (wet): It's bold and mysterious - but there's no sense in my trying to pick out different notes. It's all harmony, all blend, all one! Wearing it (dry): 10 mins later is has gone SO floral. Not at all like it was in the vial or wet on the skin. Darn. I'm hoping for the awesomeness to return again... 30 mins after application, the incense-like smells mellow the floral a bit, but it's not nearly as awesome as before. *pout* An hour later, it's better, though not nearly as lush as in the beginning. Finally: Greatly ambivalent with this one. It started out so good... It's a maybe.

    Ra

In the vial (initial impression): To my nose, it's all opium when I open the vial. Warm, sunny opium. Initially on (wet): Sweet and warm, with little bits of green. It's still opium to me, heh. I'm guessing there's amber in there, too. Wearing it (dry): 10 mins later it has gone from sweet to floral, and from there to oddly bitter! It's weird. Now it's spicy, and it brings my thoughts to burning hot rays of sunlight (how appropriate). I'm fascinated by this! 20 mins after application, it reminds me of Swedish glögg (mulled wine) - it's hot and it's spicy. Not unpleasant at all, though. 30 mins after application, it has softened a bit, but it's still like hot, spicy wine - but now with the tiniest hint of what I think might be orange. An hour later, it has gone much softer, and I can almost swear that there's some vanilla in there, taming the spicy sunlight contained in this perfume. Finally: Quite strange, and quite interesting! (Swapped away.)

    Eden

In the vial (initial impression): Coconut and almond in such a strong and intoxicating mix that it had me staggering! Wow! This is powerful stuff. Initially on (wet): Surprisingly heavy almond and some stingy green in the background - the fig leaf? My skin reacts badly to any green stuff, initially, only to make it all better after a while. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it has grown softer and more... fruity. I can sense the coconut somewhere. It's soft, serene, peaceful, and warm. 20-30 mins later, the fig has returned, but it's still a soft harmony of different notes. Mmm. It has faded a lot after an hour, but it's certainly very wonderful. Mmm! Finally: Keeping for the moment.

    Mata Hari

In the vial (initial impression): Lush jasmine and a few roses, but none of the "exotic" ingredients. It's strong and vibrant, and very feminine. Initially on (wet): Jasmine, once again - but wait! Something warm - vanilla, figs? Mmm. More of that to come, I hope! Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it has turned warm and lovely. The jasmine isn't overpowering, the roses stay in the background, and warm spices mingled with softening vanilla seal the deal. It's alluring! 20-30 mins after application, it has turned very soft and gentle, but still warm, semi-spicy and alluringly seductive. Mmm. An hour later, it has gone warm and gentle, and it's overall an incredibly sexy and pleasant scent. Yay! Finally: Gotta keep. I think this is my new Bast scent, heh - more so than Bastet!

    Magdalene

In the vial (initial impression): It reminds me of my mother's opium perfume. It's strong and vibrant. Initially on (wet): Opium mingled with "green" bits that I can't make out yet. But it's a lovely scent - so much stronger than I anticipated. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, I'm pleased to say that this is a LOVELY floral on me. It has gone a bit soapy, unfortunately, but the orchid is great, and the roses aren't too bad. It's no longer "green" on me, just flowery. 20-30 mins after application, it has gone much gentler and softer, and more malancholic somehow. It's pure beauty. An hour later, the scent has faded a LOT, but is also more pleasant than ever - now I get the softness and gentleness I was looking for in the first place. Mmm. Keeper. 6 hours later, it's almost gone, but it was lovely while it lasted. Finally: Keeping!

    Depraved

In the vial (initial impression): I initially only smell the patchouli, reminding me of scorched earth and dusty incense, with a little bit of extra spice in it. I can't actually make out the apricot. Initially on (wet): Heavy patchouli and something sweet yet rancid in the background. I really hope this clears up, because right now it smells quite vile. Maybe my skin doesn't approve? Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, I can finally make out the apricot! However, my skin seems to mutate this into a really rancid and horrible smell thus far, which saddens me. 20-30 mins after application, it has softened a bit, but it's still rancid on me. An hour later, it's a tad better, more harmonic - but still a tad rancid. Shame. Finally: Not for me, so this goes in my swap pile!

    Grog

In the vial (initial impression): Woah! Creamy, delicious, boozy. Mmmm - heck, I'm tempted to drink this! Initially on (wet): A strangely spicy and intoxicating scent, with a creamy background. Wearing it (dry): It quickly mutated into something "bleh!" on my skin, which horrified me. Guh! It makes my stomach turn. Actually, no, I can't wait - this HAS to get off my skin RIGHT NOW. *feels sad* I wanted this to be my Heru-wer scent! Finally: Swap, swap, swap.
  16. Nimthiriel

    Black Opal

In the vial (initial impression): It's the smell of damp soil and wet underground caves. Initially on (wet): It's like... smelling a wet rock, but with vanilla in the background. *sneezes* Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application: vanilla, moss, dirt - it's an oddly cold scent! It's like it's fresh without intending to be. Only the vanilla provides a tiny hint of warmth to the cold rocks. 20-30 mins after application, it's a bizarre and surreal mix of nearly electric cold dampness, and a warm pleasant vanilla. Woah. An hour later, it's the essence of bizarre alchemy. Awesome to try, but not for me. Finally: Not a keeper, but a nice (and weird!) scent.
  17. Nimthiriel

    Tiger Lily

In the vial (initial impression): It reminds me of my mother's opium perfume from when I was young. It smells sharper than I expected. Initially on (wet): Once again, my skin makes it go ALL green at first, but something warmer and softer lingers in the background. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's a sharp lily scent, with the tiniest touch of honey. It's an interesting scent, but not very me. 20-30 mins after application, the honey is slightly more apparent now. An hour later, the honey has softened the lilies to a very pleasant scent. Finally: Not a keeper, but a nice scent.

    Thalia

In the vial (initial impression): Surprisingly, this smells just like lily of the valley when in the vial! Mm. I love those flowers. Initially on (wet): A heavy floral - plumeria, I take it - mixed with light fruits and a tiny dab of champagne. Pleasant, very pleasant. A tranquil sort of scent. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it made me think of plums for a while, but now it's a lovely mingle of fresh pears and sparkly champagne. 20-30 mins after application, the plumeria is coming through and enhancing the scent tenfold. Ahhh... An hour later, it's still a lovely, cheerful scent. Mm, I think I might wear this for new years! 6 hours later, the perfume has faded away a LOT, despite the fact that I put quite a lot on. Shame. The slightest hint of pear remains. Finally: A keeper - it was lovelier than I could imagine.

    Shadow Witch Orchid

In the vial (initial impression): Intense and dark flowers - not so much a heavy perfume, as a dominant and empowering one, somehow. Initially on (wet): Greens and soap. *wriggles my nose* But then there's that touch of dark orchids again. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's a rather "dark" mix of sharp greens and beautiful orchids. Mmm. Not bad, not bad at all. 20-30 mins after application, the greens are still poking my nose a lot, and I personally think I smell like a vegetable, but the orchid is coming through nicely now. An hour later, it is far softer than before, and the nasty prickling greens are gone. Yay! 6 hours later, this scent has matured and - heh - blossomed! It's wonderous. I could probably part with it, but - I greatly enjoy it. Finally: Hmm - I'll keep it! It's not entirely me, but it's far too lush to go in the trade pile just yet.

    Morocco

In the vial (initial impression): I'm surprised to find that it's quite mild, and somehow vanilla "flavoured" - I expected a wild riot of spice abnd incense! How curious. At a second sniff, I can sense some hidden notes of stronger stuff. Initially on (wet): Light spices, soft incense, but really quite gentle. Wearing it (dry): 20-30 mins after application, it's a wonderously gentle and alluring scent. I'm still flabbergasted at its gentleness and warmth - it's oddly creamy, yet full of exotic twirls. I'm a little in love! My cat approves greatly, as well. An hour later, I'm a little concerned that it might be so mild that it's already fading, which would be a first for any of the BPAL oils I've tried. But I'm still in love. 6 hours later, it's still around, but rather faded. I'm in love though! Finally: A keeper! ^^ I'll just have to apply it far more richly than the others.

    Moscow

In the vial (initial impression): The moment I open the vial, I feel like I'm standing in a gigantic jasmine bush holding a huge bouquet of lilies of the valley - it's wonderful! Two of my very favourite flowers and scents, mm. Initially on (wet): It's a shock of roses, lilies and jasmine on my skin - my nose nearly itches with the intensity! It's pleasant, feminine and brave. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's unfortunately all soap on me, with no noticable trace of the florals or anything. Real odd. I hope it gets better! 20-30 mins after application, still soapy, but now I get hints of roses and lily of the valley. An hour later, it's much more floral, thank heavens, with just a touch of "soap" to it. I still get nothing of the amber or the musk, but mleh. It's pleasant. 6 hours later, it has evolved into a more soft and complex mingle of flowers, and the amber is coming through well. Ahh, good stuff. Finally: Hmm. I'm a bit ambivalent about this one. I'll put it in my trade pile for now...
  22. Nimthiriel

    Bon Vivant

In the vial (initial impression): Mmm - it truly is a spectacular blend of champagne and strawberries! Wow! Initially on (wet): It starts out surprisingly green - it makes me think of fresh fruit, or a freshly made fruit salad, but not strawberries per se. And then there's a hint of champagne in the background. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, I get a warm sort of mix of champagne, strawberries, random fruit and something that smells a bit like soap. It's oddly pleasant. 20-30 mins after application, strawberry champagne and soap is an odd mix, but it's still pleasant, even though I wish the soap thing would just die down. An hour later, I'm getting high on strawberries and champagne. ^^ It's a wonderfully intoxicating scent. 6 hours later, the scent has softened into a mix that reminds me of roses, oddly enough. Very pleasant and soft. Finally: 8 hours and still going, but pretty faded - not bad. I'm a little unsure about this one. It might be nice for new years, but - I dunno. (Ended up swapping it.)
  23. Nimthiriel

    Love Me

In the vial (initial impression): I'm curious to see what a voodoo blend is like - hmm, well rich, potent and dominant is right! A sexy invasion of roses and musk, perhaps. Initially on (wet): Eh, soap. Soap scented with roses and - lilacs? Yes, heavy lilacs. I love lilacs, but this is nearly overwhelming. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's all lilacs and soap to me. It's not bothering me or anything, but it's not something I'd wear, I think, and not quite "me" - hmm. 20-30 mins after application, it's smelling a bit more like incense, and roses are coming through better. It's still heavy on lilacs and has a touch of soap to it. An hour later, it's an oddly dry and powdery mix of soap, roses and lilacs. It's quite strong, and not all that unpleasant, but so not me. There's a touch of vanilla in there, too, I think. 6 hours later, it's more vanilla with a touch of lilacs and a slight air of soap to it. Finally: 10 hours and still pretty much hanging around, so it lasts well, but - not a keeper for me.

    Greed

In the vial (initial impression): Indeed, it smells - golden! Gold and dirt, but in a very pleasant mix. I'm intrigued. Initially on (wet): Woah, dirt! How bizarre. There's a really strong smell of - dirt, earth, mud. Slowly something else makes an entrance, something sweeter. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's still rich and earthy, but also very warm and spicy - it's wonderous! I can swear I smell cinnamon in this. Gods, I love cinnamon! 20-30 mins after application, it's still very rich and spicy - cinnamon, patchouli, wonderous earth. I absolutely adore its warmth and richness! An hour later, the blend of different ingredients comes through a bit more, and I get a hint of the oakmoss for example. It's still a favourite! 6 hours later, the perfume is a warm, earthy, spicy mix that makes my heart melt. It's great. Finally: Keeper. So a keeper! (This ended up becoming my signature scent. My friend Emma assures me I smell like her grandmother's old couch, but I love this scent too much to care!)
  25. Nimthiriel

    Cairo

In the vial (initial impression): I can't tell what it is, but it's strong, vibrant and mysterious. Mmm! Initially on (wet): Citrus of some kind, mixed with - frankincense, myrrh? Perhaps the citrus is lemongrass... It's spicy but not in a super strong sense. It reminds me a bit of soap - I hope that impression goes away. It's pleasant, but thus far not quite what I pictured. Perhaps it's just my chemistry bringing out the possible lemongrass. Wearing it (dry): 10-20 mins after application, it's all lemon on me. I'm a bit saddened at that, because I'm not really that in to lemon (though the boyfriend is), mainly because I'm allergic to the fruit itself, though I don't mind the smell or taste. Hmm! 20-30 mins after application, the lemongrass is getting mixed with something else, a bit more like incense. Not much, but enough to please me. An hour later, it's a much more pleasant smell - soft myrrhs and the smoke of incense, with a lemongrass background that's really not too overbearing. I like it. 6 hours later, it's a soft and pleasant smell, with a mysterious touch to it. Much better! Finally: 10 hours and still hanging around, in much more pleasant ways. Faded now, though, more than the Bastet one did. I *think* I'll keep this one. (I ended up swapping it.)
