Starts out as a potent butter rum, just as described. It's alright, but not very complex and not something I feel compelled to smell like. About an hour in though, it evolves on my skin to a delicious, sweet golden vanilla. If only I didn't have to smell like a drink to get there! Hardy har. Nice throw and decent longevity. After some hours the vanilla develops a powdery note close to my skin which is also quite pleasant.

I can detect a mix of dragon's blood and cinnamon, with mild floral and soapy notes. Although it's pleasant, it has almost no longevity or throw on me--I guess my skin just eats it up.

Without reviewing the notes, I had guessed that Chimera was vanilla, amber, feisty cinnamon, and something resinous to give it a smoky edge. Reading up on this, the sweetness that I thought was vanilla and amber must be the honeysuckle, and the resinous element must be the myrrh. It is gourmand, dark, and supremely sexy. Good throw and longevity, and the scent stayed consistent from wet on skin to hours later. I definitely need a bottle of this as it's absolutely delicious; one of my favorite BPAL scents so far. I keep thinking of FKA Twigs singing "Smoke on your skin to get those pretty eyes rolling" when I wear this. I'm not big on smoky scents, but all these notes together are to die for. Bear in mind that I am testing an aged version of Chimera. I'll update this if my experience of a new bottle differs.

A full-bodied, red Big Head rose warmed by amber and a lusty but controlled musk. This is the scent of a natural-born queen with the ambition to either boff the world or conquer it, or both, by divine right. I will wear this on days when I must channel confidence. Good throw. This was a frimp that I tested without looking up the description at first, and even as a relative novice I was able to accurately guess all three notes. So if you're in doubt, know that Spellbound is very true to description. No surprises. With a personality this big, she requires none.

When applied, this smelled to me like a mix of popcorn and marshmallow, which was fun and unexpected! With a bit of time, it became all about sweet, dry, and very lightly spiced amber. Personally, I liked it but didn't love it--I was hoping for more rice pudding and cotton candy.

This was a frimp, and my goodness it did not work on me. It smelled like kerosene, salt, and a touch of leather, and it was very strong. Somehow my boyfriend liked it, but I had to wash it off after 20 minutes because I found it oppressive. I didn't get an aquatic or airy feel from it as others have described.

Starts out with super sweet strawberry dominating until maybe 40-60 minutes in. Then the strawberry takes a step back, and I'm getting a sweet vanilla with subtle fruit which might be the mixture of lychee and strawberry. There are alot of different notes in here that my nose is not sophisticated enough to identify, but it's well-blended and definitely smells like a pink veil as the name suggests. Some hours later, I'm noticing the marshmallow and the whole effect is very similar to Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs (which I love). Joyfully girly! Note that this testing was one week after the bottle arrived, so it's had some time to settle.

Sweet vanilla made sophisticated and well-rounded by the black tea note. This is the olfactory representation of a sexy introvert (e.g., me). It's reserved, but enticing. Really enjoyable to wear, I ended up with my nose in my wrists frequently. It stays quite close to the skin.

This is lovely. I'm not into aquatics, but if this had better staying power, I would have to change my tune. It feels more airy than aquatic to me, if that makes sense. It features a sweet, gentle hyacinth note. Very feminine and soft. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long on my skin at all.

Starts out quite soapy and then mellows to a scent that is mostly powdery, with a bit of herbal floral. Not exactly my cup of tea, but it's soft, feminine, and comforting.

Unfortunately the beautiful fresh-cut rose note is equally matched by soapiness on me. Not sure why, as Two, Five, and Seven is lovely with my chemistry. 🤷♀️ This one is just too soapy for my taste.
