This one smells exactly like brownie batter on me, with great longevity. Yum!!!

This starts as a dark orange blossom that is just slightly dirty--I usually do not like that indolic edge, but in this case it is very tastefully done and comes across as quite sexy. Over time, the orange blossom smooths out and gets juicier and sweeter (I assume from the vanilla making its appearance). Not sure yet if this is "me" enough to be bottle worthy, but it's definitely delicious and unique--a great signature scent for the right person.

On my skin this is primarily violets, with baby powder and just a smidge of soap. Strange that I'm not getting any of the listed notes. Not the sensual experience I was shooting for.

The first stage of this is dirty orange blossom that I found off-putting. After an hour or so, the indolic edge calms down and the honey and rose emerge, creating an enjoyable but rather unremarkable scent. Also, even after slathering it on, I must put my nose right up to my skin to smell this. Between the first sour hour and how close it stays to my skin, Jezebel wasn't for me. UPDATE--Either the imp I first tested with was from a bad batch, or it had been stored improperly, or Jezebel doesn't age well...whatever the case, I tried a brand new frimp that I got directly from BPAL and the first stage was beautiful! It was a lovely, soft and juicy orange blossom that seemed bottle-worthy. However, I did still have the problem with it staying overly close to my skin; I wanted to be enveloped in that cloud, but sadly it didn't work out that way.

I was soooo looking forward to rose buttercream, and I can smell it when this is wet on my skin. However, as soon as this dries on me, all that's left is creamy suede. After that, the dark musk comes out, and the scent remains entirely dark musk and suede thereafter.

On my skin this is all red musk and patchouli, with a smidge of ylang ylang. I'm not getting any caramel, and I had been really looking forward to a caramel scent.

For the first couple hours, this is all peppery orange blossom, with an almost dusty feel which I think is a bit of powder. The orange blossom is uplifting, and the pepper gives it energy--it's youthful while still being sophisticated. About 4 hours in, it's more pepper and sweet amber with a smidge of orange blossom, and it's staying extremely close to my skin.

On me, this starts as a fainter version of Snake Oil, with frustratingly little throw. A couple hours in, now it's a sweet, creamy honey with a smidge of Snake Oil. It's beautiful, but I still have to be inches away from my skin to smell it. I suppose my experience with this is the same as @Estamets unfortunately. 😭

Starts out as a potent butter rum, just as described. It's alright, but not very complex and not something I feel compelled to smell like. About an hour in though, it evolves on my skin to a delicious, sweet golden vanilla. If only I didn't have to smell like a drink to get there! Hardy har. Nice throw and decent longevity. After some hours the vanilla develops a powdery note close to my skin which is also quite pleasant.

I can detect a mix of dragon's blood and cinnamon, with mild floral and soapy notes. Although it's pleasant, it has almost no longevity or throw on me--I guess my skin just eats it up.

Without reviewing the notes, I had guessed that Chimera was vanilla, amber, feisty cinnamon, and something resinous to give it a smoky edge. Reading up on this, the sweetness that I thought was vanilla and amber must be the honeysuckle, and the resinous element must be the myrrh. It is gourmand, dark, and supremely sexy. Good throw and longevity, and the scent stayed consistent from wet on skin to hours later. I definitely need a bottle of this as it's absolutely delicious; one of my favorite BPAL scents so far. I keep thinking of FKA Twigs singing "Smoke on your skin to get those pretty eyes rolling" when I wear this. I'm not big on smoky scents, but all these notes together are to die for. Bear in mind that I am testing an aged version of Chimera. I'll update this if my experience of a new bottle differs.

A full-bodied, red Big Head rose warmed by amber and a lusty but controlled musk. This is the scent of a natural-born queen with the ambition to either boff the world or conquer it, or both, by divine right. I will wear this on days when I must channel confidence. Good throw. This was a frimp that I tested without looking up the description at first, and even as a relative novice I was able to accurately guess all three notes. So if you're in doubt, know that Spellbound is very true to description. No surprises. With a personality this big, she requires none.

When applied, this smelled to me like a mix of popcorn and marshmallow, which was fun and unexpected! With a bit of time, it became all about sweet, dry, and very lightly spiced amber. Personally, I liked it but didn't love it--I was hoping for more rice pudding and cotton candy.

This was a frimp, and my goodness it did not work on me. It smelled like kerosene, salt, and a touch of leather, and it was very strong. Somehow my boyfriend liked it, but I had to wash it off after 20 minutes because I found it oppressive. I didn't get an aquatic or airy feel from it as others have described.

Starts out with super sweet strawberry dominating until maybe 40-60 minutes in. Then the strawberry takes a step back, and I'm getting a sweet vanilla with subtle fruit which might be the mixture of lychee and strawberry. There are alot of different notes in here that my nose is not sophisticated enough to identify, but it's well-blended and definitely smells like a pink veil as the name suggests. Some hours later, I'm noticing the marshmallow and the whole effect is very similar to Pink Fuzzy Handcuffs (which I love). Joyfully girly! Note that this testing was one week after the bottle arrived, so it's had some time to settle.
