  1. I heard elsewhere on the intarweb that "Dragon's Milk" is a total dupe for Bond No. 9's "Chinatown" - as my few decants of that are running out and I can't justify that kind of cost for a bottle, I'm wondering if anyone can verify this or shoot it down? :beg:
I don't agree with that comparison. Dragon's Milk is very sweet and almondy/vanilla-ish...Chinatown has a lot of "green" notes, IIRC. To me Chinatown is a dead-ringer for Cacharel's Eden. I can't think of a BPAL scent that is truly similar to Chinatown...although I'll say this, if you like Chinatown you will love the new LE Sunbird, which goes live tomorrow :)
Aaah, a daydream for a BPAL I likely can't afford. But thank you for the advice. :D

  2. I noticed the last time I placed an order that R'lyeh (Picnic in Arkham) still has a button to buy a 10ml. It even works. I considered leaving it in my cart but I didn't want to cause the labbies needless aggravation just so I could chortle.

It still does! I've noticed that too and thought the same way, haha. I looove R'lyeh (which is so atypical of me) and I'd love to have a 10ml.

  3. This one starts and finishes as rotting vegetables on me. I think it's the rose & frankincense battling it out for who can stink it up the most - but they're both dealbreaker notes on me. The sandalwood peeks out, but then gets a whiff of what's going on and promptly dies. I really wanted to like this, but, I think it's the one that finally proved to me that not only do florals and I not get along, they daydream of suffocating me in the night.

  4. Definitely the same leather note from DeSade, and as zankoku_zen said, it's the same metallic note from Bed of Nails. On me, it's leather and shiny pennies - with a hint of lime and pepper peeking out in the background. Definitely masculine, but I feel confident that I can pull it off. My body chemistry is REALLY picky with this one, though, but when it works, it works SO well.

  5. I bought this as a half-imp, purely based on loving Gaiman scents in general as I thought the woods would hate me, and.. ooh, I am so glad I tried it. It's definitely bottle-worthy for me. The musk, wood, and almond all dance nicely together and the dreaded sandalwood doesn't amp or make me itch.

It carries quite well without being assaulting, which is amazing.. Now, if I can keep myself from bathing in this, I'll be okay. ;)

  6. I should start this by saying I was so excited for this blend, I went out with no makeup (I'd already washed my face when I got home) the second I got the delivery confirmation email from USPS, after a really looooong day (I've been nonstop moving since 4:30) just to pick it up.

    Overall: OMNOMNOMCHOMP.

In the bottle, it's straight berries. Wet, it's like the berries in Australian Copperhead. I do see a hint of the bubblegum that's been mentioned, it's the way Jailbait usually goes on me at first.

Dry, it's juicy fruits still, but with a very sexy leather and just a hint of the paper bag. (I never thought I'd actually want to smell like a paper bag, but alas, I do.) The fig is almost invisible on me until about the fifth minute, but I don't mind. I'm just so happy the leather is so beaaaautiful.

I'm torn between wanting to sing songs about how wonderful this is, and wanting to chomp my hand off. Easily one of my HG blends.

  7. In the bottle, it's lemony flowers and not much else. Wet, it smells like a softer, more mellow version of the flowers in "Burial." Five minutes after drydown, it's dirt, glorious dirt, with soft flowers under it. Ten minutes later, it alternates between pure dirt and dirt with flowers. The flowers, while overpowering at first, quickly fall into the background and aren't cloying at all. I'm not a floral person, yet I always amp them, so this is a pleasant surprise that my skin is only softly expressing these. Yay!

  8. I bought this purely because my boyfriend loves pomegranate.

In the bottle, it's definitely red wine and pomegranate.

First applied, it's very sweet, like red grape juice cocktail.

On the drydown, it's pure pomegranate.

20 minutes later, it's pomegranates, leather, and a bit of a resin smell that I can't identify, but really love.

Definitely a keeper. I love this!

  9. In the vial, it's veryveryvery cherry. Not overwhelmingly so, but that's probably because I like cherry. However, on me, it blends into smelling like.. cherry root beer. I don't know what it is, but that's what it smells like. I thought it was just me being crazy and then I asked both my boyfriend and my mother what they thought it smelled like and both agreed with me. I like smelling like cherry root beer, but I doubt that's what Beth was going for.

  10. Love. Definitely a sugary floral, but it's a floral that WORKS on me - and most florals don't. Most florals I find too soft and innocent for me, and I'm.. not a soft and innocent kind of girl, I suppose. This is balanced out with the right amount of sugar and the right floral to where it's one I'll definitely wear often, and probably will wind up hoarding.

  11. WOOHOO! I finally made my first order, 2 imp packs worth. I'm so excited!

    *deep breath*

I ordered it yesterday (Dec. 31). Considering the time of year, would it make a difference on how long it'll take to get to me? I'm going to expect about a month. Does that sound right?

Well, the lab appears to be very caught up with shipping orders quickly, so really it would depend more on the customs at the US border I'd imagine. I'd expect LESS than a month, but I don't know how slow Canadian post is at the moment.
