Oh, ICK. This starts out as yuck and dries down to GROSS GET IT OFF!!!
-
Ooh, this is very pretty- it is a lilting and soft fragrance, but there is a razor sharp edge to it in the background. It has a powdery quality as well. Has a Victorian feel, if that makes any sense.
I like it.

Huh. Everyone's talking about cedar and lilacs. Not in MY bottle of Night Thoughts, you don't. I really thought that this was straight jasmine. It is a super sweet floral but it is not a sickly sweet. It's the night air jasmine that makes you want to plant a couple of trees so you can have a hammock to sleep outdoors. It did dry to a soft floral incense (OK, maybe I DO detect lilac. Sue me) that is just lovely.
I guess it's a good thing I didn't go by the ingredients. Cedar is my nemesis. And this time... I foiled you, accursed Cedar. HA!

I just now got around to trying this blend. I did not pick up wine or vinegar at all. What I got was a sweet kind of incense fragrance. It has dried to magnificence and I think I agree with whoever said that it ends up smelling like Antique Lace. I could also agree with the whoever who mentioned amber. I am smelling that as well.
NICE.

Grapefruit! I hate the taste but love the scent. This blend is super duper Captain Grapefruit.
On drydown, the captain continues to steer the ship and his 1st mate Sgt. Spice hovers nearby. They're very close, those two.
I really like this blend.

Pencil shavings. I smell like pencil shavings. And bug spray. That too.

I smell like a freshly laundered just showered human being.

Wow, this one is so interesting. On first sniff, I smell sweet rose. Then the carnation comes thundering in, followed by tea with lemon and clove. It's sweet and spicy and powdery and citrusy, all at the same time. As it dries down, it is becoming more of a carnation powder scent. There is still a touch of citrus, but now my arm smells like pickle juice.
Pickle juice? WTF?

Lovely, wonderful, beautiful aged Snake Oil.

This blend started off with a tang (no pun intended). I have others say that something smells like sex. This really did. I wasn't sure if I were going to be able to handle it or if I would have to wash it off. Then it began to change again. I smelled, underneath the sweaty musk, LICORICE. Huh? Licorice? Anisette? Absinthe? *shifty eyes*
Then that vanished in an instant and I was left with a sultry version of O. Powerful and evocative. And I don't know that I can keep it, much less wear it.
Wow.

All righty. Eshe went straight to powder on me. Foo.

Meh. I have had this tucked away in a box since I bought it. I hoped for much more than it turned out to be. There's a sharpness that pierces through my nostrils and right into my brain. I definitely smell honey but it's been sitting in sea water.
Maybe I don't like ambergris. Who knows?

I haven't made up my mind about Zarita. Wet, it is atrocious. It smells like a sharp burnt wood. But after it dries, the carnation comes out and is very spicy. Mixed with orange blossom, it turns mildly sweet. I just don't know if the end result is worth the drive through Gag City.
-
ZOMG- Litha, where have you been all my life?
This blend is just gorgeous. It's sultry and husky, with the honey and carnation coming to the fore. But wait, there's a playful side... the gardenia and honeysuckle provide a sweet kick to the spice. I don't think that I could get away with this scent often, but DAMN is it nice. And definitely a dabbing scent- NOT to be slathered... not unless I want to drop every living thing within a 2 mile radius. Can you say STRONG?

Dreams of joy and fear: swirling dark and airy musks, mogra, plumeria, hyacinth, lily of the valley, dry white sandalwood, gardenia, pale amber, and oakmoss.
What starts out as something reminiscent of pineapple Life Savers turns to sandalwood and oakmoss. It's OK but not wonderful.
To the sale pile... -
This smells like a room full of old aunts, the kind who insist on hugging you so tightly you can't breathe. Not that you would really want to breathe when any of them are around, though.
One of them smokes, so you get a good whiff of stale smoke. One wears Faberge Tigress perfume and BOY does she wear it. She couldn't sneak up on anyone if her life depended on it. One of them likes her talcum powder and when she pulls you to her, a little white aura cloud erupts.
Run. Run for your life.

Whoa. If you ever wondered what old Band-Aid smoldering and about to catch fire smells like, my imp is IT.
-
This starts out as pine sprinkled over musk... and turns to talcum powder. It's a dark, sinister talcum powder. I like it.
-
Nuh UH. This stuff is a dead ringer for the smell of the banana pudding my mother used to make. Once it dries down, it gets a bit tangy and reminds me of the time she put a dollop of crushed pineapple in the mix. And that was right before she squirted blue food coloring in there as well.
-
Wet: Downwind of a big-assed bonfire.
Dry: The smoke recedes somewhat and a dark sweetness emerges.
Not terrible, but not me.
-
A little dab'll do ya, for sure... this stuff is honkin' powerful!!
In the imp, MUSK!
Wet, MUSK!!
On drydown, MUSKY MUSK!!!
Did I mention that the main thing in this is MUSK? I had to wash some of it off- it is that clingy and strong. (interesting dichotomy, that)
I remind myself of me 40 years ago when musk was all the rage. How did anyone stand being around me? I can taste this stuff... it's SUPERMUSK!!!
-
Fruit cocktail comes immediately to mind on application. I do get a whiff of ketchup in the background... happily that does not linger. The end result is fizzy fruit.

Neat-o! This is very pretty. Floral with a green kick. Fresh and clean and brisk. I like it.

At the outset, this is so much straight tea with lemon that I am tempted to try and drink my arm. Then I get a waft of vanilla. This is nice nice nice.
