  1. I just read the notes. I THOUGHT I detected root beer!! God bless sarsaparilla.

In the imp and wet: I smelled herbs with a bit of floral in the background... and root beer.

Dry: The sarsaparilla tones down with what feels like a pinch of vanilla and a few flower petals.

All the Pisceans in my life have been very disagreeable... this bottle may turn the tide.

  2. In the imp and wet: Rose, rose and more rose...

Dry: The rose is toned down with a bit of gardenia.

I didn't think I would like this very well, enough to buy more since I have a lot of rose fragrances, but the gardenia gives Marguerite an edge over all the other rose blends. I do think I have to be careful though, because I think Marguerite wants to give me a headache. I'll put her on lighter next time. But I WILL put her on again.

  3. No booze at all for me. I smell vanilla and tobacco and leather. The vanilla is steady and the other two pop in and out, weaving and competing to be the last note I detect in any one sniff (and there have been many since I put this one on this morning). I also get a little spice with that tobacco now.

    LOVE. :P

  4. Oya

    Oya most beautiful!

Cherry almond concluding with a sour bite both in the imp and wet. When it dries, however, it turns softly sweet with a hint of musky incense. I think Oya is magnificent.

  5. I have to agree with fairnymph on this one- it is very heady and warm. I detect jasmine and carnation (two of my absolute faves). There's also a bit of orange that cuts into the super sweet floral and tones it down a little. I do believe I will have a bottle of this.

  6. Magdalene starts out on me very sharp and grassy. But that hint of sweet floral is right there too, almost like an aftertaste (aftersniff?). When it dries, the grass vanishes and I am left with soft floral. This scent will not be in my top ten, but it is comforting and pretty.

  7. I agree that this scent is hard to pin down. And my untrained nose is unable to pick out anything as far as particular notes. I wouldn't know ozone if it hit me in the butt with a lightning bolt. All I can add (which has already been said and said and said again) is that it is dark. I don't detect anything remotely citrus. Maybe an incense. A powdery incense.

  8. I wouldn't say that I dislike Masabakes, but she definitely is not terribly fond of me.

In the imp: Sharply sweetness- currant and mimosa? I have no nose to speak of so I am just guessing on these. DAMN I wish single notes were still sold. I would love to have references.

Wet: Why am I smelling grass?

Dry: Mildly sweet and powdery. If I squint slightly, I detect play doh.

  9. In the imp: Lemon cleaning product... Pledge maybe? Definitely artificial and almost chemical in nature.

Wet: Lemon candy... OK, this is getting better

Dry: Sweet tea. The lemon is gone. S'okay but not incredible.

  10. I find that Paris screams LAVENDER!!!! Since I am quite fond of lavender, this is not necessarily a bad thing. I could have sworn (before reading the description) that I smelled bergamot in there too. I suppose it just either the lotus or the spices playing with my nose. It was not terribly long lasting on me, which is sad...

  11. In the imp and wet, I found this to be a very clean scent... lemony goodness abounding.

Dry: The lemon moves into the background and amber comes to the fore.

Shame that this did not last very long at all on me. It is a lovely scent.

  12. Sweet sweet sweet!!!

Akuma reminds me of Kool Aid wet. After the dry down, it reminds me of a cologne I had as a child. But after a few more minutes, it settles into raspberry and orange fizzy. Wow. What a blast from the past. I loved to watch the tablets fizz but never wanted to actually drink it. This might stand a better chance with me.
