    Vintage Kitty Blow Molds

so happy to snag this one before weenies go away, the blow molds are secret favorites of mine and these mango and clove kittens are the perfect addition. the mango note is so rich and juicy, with the clove and amber giving this warm radiance and depth that is super delightful. the plastic note is light and comes in at the end of the sniff, that soft flocked-feeling plastic of blow molds. picture perfect scent!

    Coyote Moon

I grabbed this one right away, as it covers a few gaps in my collection and I am extremely partial to coyotes as animals. Super impressed and enamored with the amber fur note right away upon opening the bottle. Initial application is all about that fluffy musky amber fur note, with pinches of pepper and swirls of the sage and herbs. After some settling the herbs really start to come forward and differentiate themselves the fur falls back but doesn't disappear, becoming more of a grounding element for the disparate herbs to play against. not getting a lot of tonka (it's not a favorite note of mine when a primary, so I'm grateful for that) but I'm sure it's part of what is allowing the other notes to retain their distinct edges. there's nothing particularly sweet or vanillic about how it plays here. Overall this gives an impression of outdoorsy freshness, sun-hungry plants enveloped in warm fur.

    Poor Monkey

Poor Monkey is one of my favorite 2024 Yules I took a chance on. A year out it is a gorgeous and creamy fig milk & pink lotus scent. To me the fir and khus together form about 5-10% of the smell impression, but it has a powerful effect on the overall impression the scent gives. It has a bit of freshness almost like a very green banana peel that just lightly bites around the edge of the beautiful pink and white center. Perfect for any season, invigorating in winter and soothingly cool in summer.

    Sweetgrass and Dandelion Butter

I'm always looking for sweetgrass perfumes, it's one of my very favorite smells, so I knew I had to grab this before they ran out. I didn't expect to be so taken by the dandelion butter note as well, but it's stellar. out of the bottle - a super nostalgic scent of summer pulling dandelions and feeling the crush of the plant matter between your fingers, a thick grassy floral dandelion smell with a backing of subtle sweetgrass. this is really gorgeous wet. wet on me - starts out flat and low to the skin, not surprising since it's fresh from the mail, as it spreads out it starts getting a very yellow-white brightness to it, the dandelion scent comes up dry on me - picking up a bit of throw, sweetgrass layering over, dandelion close to the skin. sniffing it gives me that pinch-between-the-nose-and-soft-palate sensation of being in a hay-only barn. It has a very vibrant and natural impression, like I've just come in from rolling in grasses and dandelions. this is a really beautiful summer scent

    Coucher de Soleil, Ciel Orange

Took a chance on this one right away, wanting to expand my ambergris collection, I'm quite pleased with it. These are fresh from the mail impressions. out of the bottle - ambergris, neroli, and amber clouding over a citrus base; apricot and raspberry musk are not apparent wet. there's a lot more woodiness and bitterness at this stage that quickly evolves out once applied. wet on me - raspberry musk starts to come up on me right away, ambergris and neroli fall back and decrease their bitterness, the amber mellows out, citrus backs down too dry on me - i'm glad the myrrh is keeping to the shadows, it's listed last in the notes so I was counting on it being a background note and it does seem to want to stay there. this smells like being in the shade of a citrus orchard with warm woody notes and reserved fruity notes, lightly illuminated. apricot remains elusive on me, I mostly get the raspberry musk and the orange/citrus; the overall impression is very bright and peaceful, yet complex.

Couple in a Bathhouse With a Go Board

Breaking this beauty back out again, i just can't get enough of how that lotus root plays with the chrysanthemum and tea notes, it's chewy and juicy. I'm going to be so sad when my single bottle runs out, this is one i'll probably be looking for back-ups of in the future.
  7. Wet I can understand where people are getting red/cherry notes from this, but once applied this turns into a lovely dusty shimmery marzipan note, wreathed with frankincense and backed with a nice red wine note.

    Luna Negra: Ted's Creation

I'm deeply in love with my 2024 bottle of Luna Negra, i've reached for it at some point every day since it arrived. The Blackberry and Musk are absolutely divine in the bottle, and on my skin they gain an additional level of opacity and depth, all of the notes combine beautifully. I feel like I'll probably have to grab a bottle of this every time there's a black moon, because I'll certainly be running out at the rate i'm using it

    Absinthe Robette

I really love my bottle of absinthe robette! I was so surprised to see somewhat mixed reviews here, it's a beautiful wormwood-y absinthe to my nose with delicate lemon florals. it's a clean, elegant scent without being too staunch or mature.

    Drops of Melting Snow

Tested this from my blind-bottle since I know people are going to be looking for opinions: The "snow-laden" had me wondering if it would have any of the snow note, and I do believe I can catch it while the scent is wet, a kind of bracing element to the first inhale that continues to linger and help differentiate the floral notes. The peony and rose are very light (white, tonally) florals that play nicely together in the nose, they don't over power one another and it's definitely not a stereotypical rose. the dark plum comes in at the end, the breath after the sniff almost! I find it to be really inviting overall as a scent, androgynous and professional among the more bodacious shungas.

    Pomegranate Vulva

Though I still wish the pomegranate and plum were a bit wetter and more present, this perfume gives the incredible impression of being someone who wears a lot of expensive, high quality make-up (particularly lipstick) without having to do any make-up at all! It has a lovely, high-femme lean and would be a great addition to any date-night kit.

    Vintage Wise Man Blow Mold

This is so sad, but also very non-characteristic of the imp and full-size i ordered. Maybe you got a particularly watery batch, or a poor mix? I would honestly message BPAL if you have the energy, they might be willing to send you another bottle.

    The Froth of the Serpents

I'm in agreement with VioletChaos on the contributions of the oakmoss and the mandarin below this lovely fruity red wine central note. The booziness of the wine note is well controlled, these are definitely fermented fruits but without any unpleasant astringency. I hope the sweetness folds in a bit more by winter but as is it makes a lovely spring-y sangria scent that would be just as suited to daytime as night.

    Vintage Wise Man Blow Mold

I grabbed a 0.5mL of this from Ajevie to get into the Blow Molds and see how I jive with the "plastic" note. I had no idea this would be so... clean and gentle and fresh smelling! Something about the bright and clean lemon + amber combined with the frankincense & myrrh makes me feel like this is how an angel would smell if they were disguised as a human. just a like, very tiny touch at the edges of the scent of something really ancient and holy. I completely agree with Failmingo that it has a very "uplifting" aspect to it that is intoxicating. I've never slathered something like I am with this, and I have already added a Full Size to my order, depending on how much is left when it's time for Yules to come down, this could be my very first scent to earn a back-up bottle.

    Pumpkin Spice Dark ‘N Stormy

Pumpkin Spice Dark 'n Stormy - Here are my fresh from the mailbox goblin impressions. For context, I don't consider myself a "pumpkin spice" person, I like the spice profile but don't tend to go all out on it yearly, but I was intrigued by this enough to blind buy! Immediately, I am in LOVE with how the sour lime and full spicy rum are balancing out the sweet fizziness of the ginger beer. All of the promised notes are present and robust. Right out the bottle you can smell a sweet smoky molasses-like note, popping into a carbonated middle range ginger beer soda note and ending with the lime trail. I can tell I'm going to be reaching for this a LOT this fall for grocery runs and walks. I can definitely smell the spices in the overall profile, but I don't feel like I'm wearing "that smell" bottled, it does come off as its own complex lovely scent. It also could tempt some people who prefer a more masculine scent profile but want to do something seasonal, it walks a really nice unisex line.
