  1. This reminds me a lot of sticking my head into a bag of jolly rangers. I couldn’t put my finger on what I was smelling at first, but another forumite helped me narrow it to cherry. This is like cherry limeade jolly rangers. I like it

  2. This is much more of a lavender - oakmoss - spikenard forward blend than a patch - vanilla - sugar blend. On the dry down it softens with the balsam showing up to the party.

Edit almost 1 month later: I have to agree with Elissa below. The wet phase of this, like You Get What Anyone Gets, is kind of off-putting and pungent. But the other notes start to swoop in and warm up as it dries down. It's never sweet, but it's fancy and full of intrigue. It leans masculine, but it's not what I think of when I think cologne. It gets nicer and nicer as the hours pass.

It's not one that I would reach for on a daily basis, but it's definitely a mood I want to hang on to and to revisit here and there.

  3. I was intimidated to try this at first because I wasn't in love with the smell in the bottle, which seemed like all sharp ylang ylang. I love love love and NEED the intention of this oil, though, so I finally bit the bullet last night and was pleasantly surprised! The patchouli is a background player, mostly undetectable? Maybe just giving it a little oomph. I get a soft and ephemeral tangerine lavender with light tansy giving it kind of a herby-floral feel. It's very comforting and uplifting. I love this.

  4. This likely needs more resting (perhaps the reason no one has left a review yet?) but right out of the gate it's VERY dragon's blood and champaca forward. Smells just like burning a piece of dragon's blood resin. I usually amp red musk, but it's currently nowhere to be found. I'm hoping the musk and vanilla come through with some rest and time to balance out the sharpness of the resins.

  5. Like Tom and Galen reported in 15 mins of fume: This. Is. Gorgeous. It’s straight from the mail box but I’m getting a bright and sugared vanilla, smoothed out and grounded by the frankincense. It is an entirely new experience from the last edition (which I also like), so I’m glad I got the pair.

  6. !! Fresh from the mail first impressions !!

the black leather enters the chat first, eventually backed up by a touch of clove. As it dries I’m getting more of the nag champa. The leather here reminds me a bit of snekhellden. It’s like a good quality motorcycle jacket.

hoping I get more of the silky bat patchouli once this has a reasonable time to rest

after two hours: the leather has dissipated and a beautiful spicy incense sugared patchouli emerges and it’s WONDERFUL. I’m really excited to see how this one rests up and ages!

  7. Fresh from the mail box! This is LOVELY and just as described. I get the soil, a gentle green Ivy, and the stone. The stone mixes with the dirt note and reads as somewhat cold to me. The strawberry is just barely there right now but I expect it’ll come out a bit more with rest. If not I’ll probably layer with strawberry moon 🌙 I love this and I think I’ll reach for it a lot this summer.

After about an hour, the strawberry becomes more prominent.

  8. This is one of my fave faves from this release.  I'm on a huge lemon kick right now. The lemon is BRIGHT but not lemon-cleaner with just the softest edge of limoncello. And it meshes beautifully with the vanilla cakey-ness. It really blooms as it warms up and dries on the skin. Lemon lemon lemon vanilla cake sugar. If you like these things, you will love this.

  9. This might need some resting, but a couple hours out of the mail box and the only way I can describe it is... dry and musty and not in a good way? I don't get any praline just yet, and the vanilla is sheeeeer, like a whisper or ghost of vanilla on the dry down. The dead leaves aren't sharp or bell peppery, so at least there is that. light/low throw.

I'll report back if this changes with rest.

    ...4 months later...

Okay, with rest I have changed my opinion. This is predominantly a gentle dead leaves note sweetened slightly by vanilla. I don't get praline per-se but I think it's lingering in the back there taking the edge of the leaves. I think this will be a good layering perfume
