  1. Got this one as a freebie in my recent order. In the bottle, it smells amazing--kind of fruity and sweet, with some kind of sexy undertone--putting it on made me feel vampiric, like I wanted to start eating my wrist, and the skin scent was part of that desire....a bit creepy actually. But good.

But then, ten minutes in.....wtf, patchouli?

At first I thought it might be the amber, but I checked a couple of other scents I have which include amber, and this hasn't happened with them. But it did happen with Scherezade, which doesn't have patchouli listed either--but which does have red musk . My bet is that there's patchouli in the red musk blend, and because my skin looooooooves patchouli (a drop of Ravenous can give me a headache, it's so strong) I'm just amping that scent up way beyond all others.

About four hours later, now, the patchouli is finally fading, and I think I'm getting the berries and amber (oh, that's what it smells like!). It's very nice again. But I don't think I can handle the 100% patchouli that long just for ten good minutes at the beginning and a couple of very faded hours at the end. Alas!

  2. (Fair warning: this is a ~2-year-old imp. Still smells like I remember, though.)

In the bottle, this is just delicious. I love baking, and it smells like a kitchen at the height of the Christmas season: butter and sugar and creamy sweet things, maybe some spices, all overlaid. I think this could be a good room scent (not when I'm very hungry or very full, though!) if it doesn't work out on me.

    Wet: Hi, hazelnut coffee candle!

Dry: Yeah...so I've had this on ten hours now, and it never changed from the way it smelled the instant I put it on. Which is good for most perfumes, except that I used to burn hazelnut coffee candles all the time, and I can't stand the scent any more. Room scent it is, though...and I envy all the people who get the other notes!

  3. When I opened this, it smelled a little like incense topped off with fruit, which made me nervous (my skin tends to pick up patchouli and throw it to the winds, strong enough to give me a headache). But this oil was lovely from the minute I put it on.

Kind of hard to describe...I could smell it, but it was hard to notice--it smelled a lot like my normal skin amped up. Which, uh, was the point of saying it smelled like skin, hey. :) It did stay close to the skin, and retained that lovely almost-me scent for a while; unfortunately after a couple of hours it turned into a pure incense-y kind of smell, which I think was the myrrh, and got a little stronger. I had to take it off at that point. I may try it again, and hope that's just a short phase. But until it turned into nothing but myrrh, oh, this oil was very nice!
