Initial Impression: vanilla and gardenia
On Wet: sweet floral that eventually turned to powder
On Dry: powder
Final Impression: I'm sad it turned on me because it was really nice.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 2

So far, my favorite is Dorian followed closely by White Rabbit and Embalming Fluid. But I haven't tried them all yet, so I'll reserve final judgment until then.

I love citrus, but it doesn't always love me.
Citrus-y scents that work on me:
Croquet: pink lime, pink grapefuit, white nectarine, wild rose, sage, woody patchouli (which totally behaves itself, I swear!), bergamot, and ornery hedgehog musk
Embalming Fluid: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon
The Scales of Deprivation: lemon peel, white sage, frankincense, lavender fougere, sandalwood, vetiver, and labdanum
Phantasm: green tea, lemon verbena, jasmine and neroli
Come to Me: from the Conjure Bag
Scents that didn't work:
Kuang Shi: Mandarin orange, white musk, mango, and white sandalwood
Lolita: glittering heliotrope, honeysuckle, orange blossom and lemon verbena
Shoggoth: white amber, green coconut meat, iris, palmarosa, Chinese peony, lime, water lily, snowdrop, muguet, lemongrass, osmanthus, wisteria, glassy musk, and hinoki

I don't have many (yet), but I'd have to say that my favorite Voodoo Oil is Water of Notre Dame. It really calms me and makes me feel better no matter how frazzled my nerves were before. It's awesome stuff!
But I do have to say that every Voodoo Oil I've tried so far has been effective. Sometimes amusingly so.

Initial Impression: roses, spice
On Wet: sandalwood, roses, the tiniest bit of patchouli (I usually amp it and smell like a head shop the rest of the day, but this is behaving nicely)
On Dry: rose and sandalwood. Mostly rose.
Final Impression: A beautiful spicy rose. I wasn't such a fan of rose scents until BPAL.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: green floral, spice
On Wet: honeysuckle, rose, hint of spice
On Dry: roses, hint of spice
Final Impression: quite pretty. Beth makes the only roses that work on me and bless her for that. I forgot to try this out when I was actually going somewhere, so I have no idea if this works or not but I don't think I really care.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 3.5

Initial Impression: bitter orange (uh oh, keeping fingers crossed that it plays nice on me) and sandalwood
On Wet: orange, sandalwood, musk. So far, so good.
On Dry: Ugh. Very bitter orange, sandalwood, and musk. Must wash now.
Final Impression: I haven't had much luck with orange scents unless they've been made with neroli. The rest all turn bitter on me. This, unfortunately, was no exception.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 1.5

Initial Impression: fruity tea with a hint of vanilla (tonka?)
On Wet: grapefruit, neroli, tea, tonka, jasmine (it's not amping on me? amazing!), iris
On Dry: it's becoming more blended and harder to discern. Wisteria is amping, the fruit is blended, some tea, but it's very light.
Final Impression: OMG! So good!
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 5! I wish this were GC. Please?

Initial Impression: sandalwood and orris. A dry, woody smell.
On Wet: lavender, orris, violet
On Dry: lavender
Final impression: lavender ate it and then it went poof.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 2

Final Impression: I'm in love!
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 5. Definitely a big bottle purchase!

Lily of the Valley, Calla Lily, stephanotis and a drop of cherry.
Initial Impression: lily of the valley, cherries
On Wet: blended white floral, cherries
On Dry: lily, stephanotis
Final Impression: nice light floral if you're into florals. I'm not really into florals.

Initial Impression: Irish coffee
On Wet: Irish coffee, wood floors (smells eerily like one of the dorms I lived in during my college years!), hint of books
On Dry: books, hint of coffee
Final Impression: Wow! This brought back some memories.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 3

Initial Impression: burnt coffee
On Wet: black myrrh? smells like burnt spice mixed with dirt, but in a good way.
On Dry: earthy, gritty, vetiver really coming out now
Final Impression: really quite interesting. I like it. Earthy, dark, spicy.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

On Dry: leather and musk.
Final Impression: Sex in a bottle. I want many bottles of this!

Initial Impression: men's cologne. I can't remember which one, but it reminds me of a cologne my father's friend used to wear.
On Wet: very earthy, juniper comes out strong, some musk, something sweet I can't put my finger on, and a hint of pine
On Dry: juniper and musk, it's all mellow and soft, but there's the barest hint of powder to it
Final Impression: this is a gorgeous scent. It's like a walk through the woods.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

O
in Ars Amatoria
Initial Impression: sweet almond
On Wet: honey, almond, amber (though a friend said I smelled like baby powder and I wanted to smack her upside the head because I most certainly did not smell like baby powder, but maybe she smelled how amber sometimes turns a bit powdery on me)
On Dry: the amber did turn a bit powdery for a while, but that powder not eventually did fade and the amber came back full force and very sweet and scrumptious. For the record, I still want to eat my arm off.
Final Impression: so very good. Almost as good as Dorian. Definitely a big bottle purchase!
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4.5

The smoke note in Sacred Whore of Babylon gave me a screaming headache so now I'm worried about trying any other scents with that same note. Has anyone had an experience where a note bothered them in one perfume but not another?

Although horribly stuffed up, I managed to find a day where I was able to breathe more often than not and quickly slapped this on for a review.
Initial Impression: lemon and lavender
On Wet: lavender comes out more, I smell sage and earthy vetiver
On Dry: incense, sage, vetiver. But its throw is so light that I have to put my nose to my wrist.
Final Impression: I love this so much. It's a masculine scent, but not overly so. The unfortunately light throw means frequent applications. I really love this one!
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): overall 3.5, for the scent itself 5

I didn't know what dragon's blood was meant to smell like or anything while I jotted down notes for my review, but I guess it all fits. I have to say that this was one of the most interestingly complex scents I've had the pleasure to review. What a happy accident!
Initial Description: Piquant
On Wet: fresh cut wood (oak?), dark cherries, occasional bubble of currant to brighten it up, cinnamon hiding (for once-- I usually amp it) in the background
On Dry: more blended, sweeter, spicier, sexy. After many hours (about 7, I think) smells just like White Rabbit, only a little powdery.
Final Impression: I love this!
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4.5
-
Initial Impression: light lemon, powdery, slightly sweet
On Wet: sharper lemon, still powdery, clean with a hint of spice
On Dry: spicier yet softer
Final Impression: a nice, clean, spicy scent. Plus, it's fun to tell people what you're wearing.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 3.5

Initial Impression: minty floral
On Wet: minty, sweet, light floral, very airy
On Dry: florals coming out more now, airy
Final Impression: very lovely. Oddly, this seemed a night fragrance to me rather than day.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: rose
On Wet: rose with a hint of lilac
On Dry: this is not good. It smells like perm solution. Ugh.. Going to wash.
Final Impression: I had high hopes for this because I love rose and lilac, but this went very, very bad on me.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 1
