  1. This is very nice, and the coffee is subtle to my nose, or else I'm just immune to it because of DH's espresso habit. It is similar to Old Morocco -- both are right up there in my top five so far. I've smelled about twenty BPAL fragrances now.

  2. Depraved smells good on me. I have never had the dark patchouli before, and it's quite fdifferent from the other kinds I've smelled. My husband commented, "Oh, that's nice" the first time I walked by him after putting it on; about half an hour after I did. Someone mentioned compost, and I notice that a bit, too, a richness, nourishing. But it's also a little menacing, kind of on the edge for someone as conservative as I am. I feel as if I might do something dangerous while wearing this. I like that.

  3. I am not smelling the leather in this on my husband. He tried yesterday, and this morning it's still there, and the fragrance seems pretty consistent to me. It was sharper at first, but that is the only difference. The vetiver and musk together are balanced just right. It's warm and inviting. Matches him very well! Guess what's going in his Christmas stocking?

  4. This is friendly, definitely. The memory of the sun is in there, like walking on the still-warm sand just after sunset. I am sleeping with this one tonight. Doc doesn't feel well and maybe this will cheer him up.

  5. Veil is pretty and sophisticated at the same time. All those lovely flowers, gentled by sandalwood. Who'd a thunk it? It seems like the sandalwood keeps this from being just a simple posey and brings it to a higher level. I'll wear this one once in awhile. It's too sophisticated for me for everyday use. People at work liked it, too.

  6. I wanted to like this one, but I just don't. It reminded me of some candy that was too strong and kind of phony. That might be the almond that others like. I don't like marzipan, so that might well be it. It could be that this would mellow into something nice on my skin after awhile, but I'm not going to give it a chance. Darn.

  7. I like this fragrance! It's the first BPAL one I've tried. I got four packages in the mail yesterday from other BPAl people, and sniffed until I determines which one was making my mailbox smell so exotic.

The Caterpillar reminds me of incese store on the coast where I've bought scarves. I take them home and don't wash them until they're done smelling so lovely. THis dind't make DH feel sneezy at all and he enjoyed being around it. I was smelling a kind of murky green, and grayed green, among the flowers. Patchouli is definietly right there, it seems to be the dominant note on me. Everything goes together so well.

After a few minutes I thought I smelled a freshly cut wood smell in there. Then I fell asleep, taking a deserved nap, and woke after a half hour smelling cardamom, a tiny bit. There's no cardamom in this stuff, but I smelled it. Intriguing scent. I thought it might smell all mixed up with so many different things in it, but it's a great blend. Love it.
