    Tweedledum

In the imp: I'm getting a strange, medicinal cherry syrup from this? Huh? First applied: Okay, the cherry is completely gone. That was strange. Now it smells like fig, patchouli and green tea very well-blended together with a soft hint of green mango in the background. For someone who really hates patchouli, I really do like this. The fig and green tea are making the patchouli softer and warmer than the patchouli I know. Drydown: Now it's mostly the fig and green mango. Can't detect the patchouli at all, and I don't think the green tea either. Very delicate, sweet, and warm with a punch of fruit in the background. Nice. Since my brother's girlfriend really likes this, I think I'm going to have to buy a bottle and borrow hers from time to time. Not my favorite of all the imps I received, but I still like it. It's hovering around a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

In the imp: The vanilla and white sandalwood are popping out the most. I can smell sweet pea underneath it. This is a very sweet smell. My brother's girlfriend said it smelled like candy. Not in an artificial or foody way, because I wouldn't be able to tell you which candy it smelled like. Suffice it to say that the vanilla is making it very sweet and light. First applied: Mmmmm. I immediately like this. Very delicate and sweet. The vanilla is the most dominant note. The sweet pea is what's making it a more well-rounded and well-blended scent. I can't really detect the amber. That part is in the far background. The sandalwood is giving it a smokey yet sweet quality. I really like this. Drydown: It's been on me for about an hour and I can still smell it. It's not as strong as before, but it's definitely still there. For some reason, it strikes me as a very "innocent" scent. Verdict: 9/10. Getting a big bottle. Possibly two, since it's my mom's favorite out of all the imps I just ordered, and I know she will attempt to steal mine if I only get one.

    Dorian

In the imp: Right off the bat, this smells very promising. I can smell the tea. It's very dark, and definitely sexy. First applied: Just... guh. I love it. Straight away, I love it. I put it on my knee when I first applied because I was trying all of my order of imps at once, and for the longest time while I was on the computer, I had my nose to my knee and was hugging it. Out of all the scents I had on my body, I paid most attention to this one. I just love this smell. I can pick out the tea, but it's not like smelling any kind of tea straight out of the cup. It's like tea with sex underneath it, LOL. This has been my favorite of the 9 imps I got. Drydown: I applied this stuff about three hours ago and I can still smell it. It's morphed a little bit. Somehow it went from being pretty gender-neutral to leaning more towards the masculine side, though I can't exactly put it in words why. Still, I would have no problem wearing this quite often. But if a guy happened to be wearing this, I would have to muster up a lot of strength not to pounce on him. Screw Axe.. guys should wear this. This is a 9.5 out of 10. My mom and my brother's girlfriend told me they liked it, too, and it's hard to get them to like the same stuff that I like. Getting a big bottle.. no doubt about that.

    Sea of Glass

Oh God, I love this. The second I smelled the bit that got on my index finger when I opened the imp, I knew I loved it. It's just... so pretty. Aquatically floral. I picture being two fathoms underneath a beautiful, clear ocean and looking up at the bright, sparkling light the sun is making on the surface of the water. It's also like those pretty, shining crystals you see that sometimes wash up on the sand. Just completely glowing. I'm in love.
  5. About seven years ago, The Body Shop used to sell a perfume oil called Mari Mari. It was my favorite scent ever. They discontinued it shortly after I had grown obsessed with it. Luckily my mom and I were able to procure some lotion of it from a very nice employee there who actually dug it out of the back room and put it in some of the scentless lotion for us because she wasn't supposed to sell it as it was. I was wondering if anyone can recall this scent, even if it's been a long time, and possibly liken it to a BPAL scent? Or even any other company that may sell something similar. If anyone can, I would love you forever. I do not jest.

    Recommending a BPAL pumpkin blend...

'Ello everyone. So, I was browsing through all the LE today and decided I absolutely must try some of the Pumpkin Patches. However, funds are tight so I only wanted to go with a couple of them. So far Pumpkin III and Pumpkin V look most appealing to me. The chocolate/caramel/pomegranate part of Pumpkin III sounds most intriging and I like red ginger, which is in Pumpkin V. So for those of you who have tried some, which are your favorites? I really like light, sweet scents and some fruity scents. Not in to anything too strong or musky. Anyone have any suggestions?

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

This might be a tough one, but a few years ago I always used to get a perfume oil from The Body Shop called Mari Mari. But of course, they discontinued it. If anyone remembers this fragrance and can think of any BPAL scent that's anything like it, please let me know! I miss it so much. Also, anything similar to Victoria's Secret's Mood - Succulent, Davidoff's Cool Water or Dior's Miss Dior Cherie? Succulent has Madagascar vanilla and berries in it. Cool Water is obviously a very cool aquatic, but I don't remember what's in it. Miss Dior Cherie has green tangerine, violet, pink jasmine, patchouli, crystalline musk, strawberry leaves, caramelized popcorn, and strawberry sorbet listed as its notes.
  8. My favorite Lush products are Blackberry, Black Pearl, Romance In A Stone, All That Jas, Karma, Flosty Gritter, and Sunny Side. Has anyone ever found any similaries between these and any BPAL oils? Especially Karma and Black Pearl - those are amazing.

    Lolita

When I first opened the bottle, I immediately thought of orange sour patch kids. When I had my brother's girlfriend smell it, she said that it smelled like candy, so we were in agreement there. When I first put it on, it still smelled sort of bitter. I smell mostly the orange in it, but a really sour orange rather than a freshly cut orange. If it was a little less sour, and the honeysuckle and heliotrope shined through a little more, I think I would like it. Perhaps the lemon verbena is what's making it slightly too sour - I'm unsure. Overall, I will be giving my imp away to someone who will appreciate it more than I did.

    Commercial scents?

So I just got my first ever order of imps, which included 51, Bewitched, The Hanging Gardens, Lolita, La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente, Hemlock, and Persephone. I've decided I really like 51 and Bewitched is growing on me. Lots of people have pointed out in the Reviews that 51 is a very commercial scent, comparing it to Clinique Happy. I've never smelled Clinique Happy, but I personally feel like 51 is a lot like Body By Victoria. I like that it's very well-blended. I can't pick out any individual notes, really - it's just a fresh, clean, fruity-floral to me. Bewitched is very berryish and light. So, as you can see... I like light, clean scents. The Hanging Gardens and La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente smelled like how my house smells at Christmas. =\ Kind of like potpourri or room spray. I don't know if that's just me or my body chemistry, but it wasn't to my liking. Persephone was okay at first but after a while it smelled like dying roses and decaying pomegranates. Lolita smelled like the orange cleaning sheets I use to clean my bath tub. Sort of pungent. But it smelled better when I mixed a little vanilla with it! Sort of tempered it a bit. So to tie all of this together, I was just wondering what other perfumes have a more "commercial" smell? Something someone who is easing into BPAL from commercial scents might like? I like fruity florals. I've said this before somewhere, but the true smell of oranges is my favorite scent ever. Not orange cleaner or citronella or anything pungent or sour or artificial like that, but an orange that's just been sliced. I also like white and pink florals, lavender, vanilla, pomegranate, lychee, freesia. Perfumes I use/fragrances I like are as follows: Body Shop: Satsuma Zestini Rougeberry Mari Mari L'Occitane: Ruban D'Orange B&BW: Lavender Vanilla Aromatherapy Mango Mandarin Plumeria Lush: Romance In A Stone Schnuggle Victoria's Secret: Body By Victoria Pink Beach Limited Edition Mood - Sweet Craving Euphoria - Calvin Klein Miss Dior Cherie - Dior Cool Water - Davidoff Phew - I know that was long. But any suggestions are very much appreciated!

    Bewitched

I got this as a frimp with my last order. In the bottle: I love the smell of it in the bottle. Very berryish. A deep, dark, purple berry. First applied: This lightens quite a lot when it's first applied. It went from being dark in the bottle to bright and bubbly on my wrist. The berries are definitely the most prominent, but I do detect a bit of sage and tea. I really can't smell the musk at all. Maybe I could smell it in the bottle better, and that's what made it seem so dark in the bottle but not on me. Drydown: It feels like a fragrance that is trying really, really hard not to be a room spray and is almost at perfume status but not quite. This is definitely something that I would spray in my room and know it would cheer me up quite a bit. I don't know if I could wear it, though. Maybe on really hot days in the summer. Overall: I give it a 7 out of 10 and am keeping it for hot summer days.

    51

I just got 51 today in my first set of imp orders, and it's my favorite one. Yes, it is commercial smelling, but I really like it. Personally, it reminds me very much of Body By Victoria from VS. It's really well-blended. I have a tough time picking out any individual notes because of this. But I can say that I agree with those who say it's a very clean and fresh fruity-floral. Sadly, this is the only fragrance that didn't remind me of potpourri or what my house smells like at Christmas. =\ I might be ordering a big bottle of it.

    CCNow Questions & Problems

It seems I'm not the only one with this problem. I placed my order for 6 imps on April 21, and on April 23 CCNow said that it was "shipped," and the money was taken out of my bank account that day. It's now May 4 and I'm really hoping I'll get my package by May 14 because I go on vacation from May 15 to May 22. No one except my brother's girlfriend will be here between that time, but I can't really trust her to bring it into the house for me right away since she works all the time. I don't want perfume oils sitting out in the heat for very long. It'll be 21 days by then that CCNow will have deducted the payment from my bank account. In someone else's experience who has ordered from BPAL/CCNow for a while, is it likely I'll get my order by then? I've seen some people say that it has taken as long as two months for them to get their order. Is this common, or is there an average amount of time it takes? I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, if that helps.

    Oranges, Satsumas, Tangerines & Mandarins

Much Satsuma love. Now I want to go buy some shower gel, haha. The only thing with Moxie is that you have to either buy the big bottle for $25.50 or the whole set of Panaceas for $42.00. Or find someone who is willing to swap or sell the Moxie imp. I think I'm going to try to find someone to swap with or buy Moxie from, or else I'll just buy the bigger bottle. I think I'll probably like it, and if not I will either give it as a gift or give it up for swapping/selling.

    Oranges, Satsumas, Tangerines & Mandarins

We seem to have the same taste! I love Satsuma, orange, citrusy fragrances with all my being. I burn Body Shop Satsuma oil all the time and my room always smells like it. I have the body oil, too. Arylkin told me that Moxie from the Panaceas is the truest orange smell. I'm a newbie, too. Haven't tried anything yet, but I have my whole big list of things to get, and Moxie is on there.
