Jasmine!
On me:
Before it dries all I can smell is this a very very strong jasmine scent. WOW. Ok, now the jasmine has settled a little bit and here comes little bit of musk and maybe little bit of violets. I don't smell much vanilla bean or mimosa which makes me sad.
Final verdict:
This is a lovely jasmine scent for the jasmine lovers. For me, I would have liked to see more of the mimosa and vanilla.

Creamy, light ginger and musk.
On me
Yup, that's me. I'm in love! This is light, so feathery light it makes me swoon. I'm not sure what benzoin smells like, but maybe that's the sweet scent. This is not overly sugary or too spicy. It's just perfect!
Final verdict
MUST LOCATE MORE!

Lunaratu described this perfectly especially when I feel the same exact way, but here's my 2 cents: IN PURE LOVE WITH THIS. It's golden berry vanilla snake oil. YUMMMMYYYY. It's light and not overpowering and will definitely become my comforting scent. Lovely, absolutely lovely.

Spicy, almost cinnamony amber

A spicy amber. I like it! I'm really digging the Tea Party scents. Very well done and interesting. This scent is not overpowering and a nice change from the florals I've been trying out.
Final verdict
I'll keep my frimp for now and see how it goes.

Bathsheba is Blood Countess' sister. They both "feel" the same to me, spicy, sexy and strong. I love them both but will stick with Blood Countess.

Creamy spicy incense. Quite lovely. Is that saffron I smell? Man..this is up there with Morocco, not as sweet but definitely a gorgeous incense. I love it.

My first experience with Black Opal was AWFUL, as in it gave me a huge headache. I also had my monthly friend at the time so my hormones really didn't play nicely. Now a month later and well, I like it. It's a soft, gentle, vanilla cream. It's a tad bit powdery on me and that's what made me sick before. Off to the swaps.

Gorgeous spicy floral! I can smell the mandarin and magnolia. Very nice, pure sexiness in a bottle.
Final verdict
I'm going to wait until it's completely dry and see how it behaves. This may become a bottle.

Musk at first but then the orris comes out to play. Unfortunately, no coconut for me and orris gives me a headache!
Final verdict
Nice light floral with a nice musk touch. I just wish the orris played better for me. Off to swaps!

Grapefruit! Yummy grapefruit and not too powerfully.
On me
The grapefruit mellows down and something else starts to appear....the bergamot I believe. I don't smell too much of the plum, if at all, but I do smell the amber many minutes later.
Final verdict
Light, spicy/fruity, and yummy! I really do like this. It's just enough citrus, spice, and fruit. Not too overwhelming. I think this would be lovely in the Spring or Summer. I'm keeping this imp and maybe bottle in the future!

At first sniff all I could smell was roses and lil' bit of spice...and then, wow, wow!!! The amber and vanilla kick in, and I'm in love! It's a soft and mellow scent, very romantic and soothing. Wonderful! I'm so glad I got an imp.

Red musk! I can see how this resembles Smut. This is nice and spicy, and at least for me very perfumey smelling. The first time I tried this on all I could smell was strawberries! But now, it's much more spicy and less fruity. This is definitely a sexy, evening scent, but not for me.

I'm soooo sad this didn't work for me. The notes call out to me but I just can't get over the Lemon Dawn smell. This made me gag along with a headache. I couldn't wear it long enough to wait for the dry down.

What to say....I like it but not enough for a bottle. I can smell hot leather and amber, but it's not something I would wear. I like just a tad bit of floral in my scents.

Mature, sexy, and absolute corruption! Oh, I don't smell the roses...thank goodness!
Final verdict:
Bottle worthy for sure. This is by far my favorite BPAL scent. I can't add more to the review then what's already been said.

In the vial: I smell the musk and I think the red sandalwood.
On me: Warm, sweet and spicy yumminess. This lovely scent stays on me for hours and hours. I love how exotic this is and how comforting it makes me feel. I could wear this day or night, Summer or Winter and I would still feel good.
Final verdict: MUST BUY BOTTLE!

Thin mints! I smell the yummy cookie on me.
Final verdict:
Not for me. The mint and chocolate scent is not my type of scent but if you like this type of foodie scent then get it! Off to the swaps!

Yuck! Gross, overpowering almond paste! It's way too strong.
On me
The scent mellows out and is pretty but not a winner for me. I would prefer O for the foodie smell.

I give it a 3 out of 5, on my love scale. Off to the swaps!

On me:
Very flowery and sort of like potpourri packet. I smell the pears and carnations but not much else.
Final verdict:
This is not a bad scent just not for me. I'm looking for the spicy, sexy plum of Blood Countess. Off to the swap pile and back to the hunt.

My first review so excuse me for the newbieness...
In the vial: spicy plummyness!
On me: At first, all I could smell was a poor alcohol based perfume! Yuck!! And then, well, it started to dry down. There's something else in here and I can't make it out. There's plums but they are deep and low beneath the surface. I smell musk more than anything.
Final verdict: It's a lovely smell but not for the long haul for me. Off to the swaps for now!
ADDED LATER: I tried this again...yes, this is very much like Blood Countess but the throw is not strong enough for me. Dang it!

Just a little update on my quest to find similar Blood Countess scents...I got my hands on a 5ml of Midwinter's Eve 2005. I was sooo excited but then, yes, you know...I HATE IT. It's too sugary on me and makes me want to throw it across the room or cook with it.
The quest continues...

Thank you! My list is growing!!! What I like about Blood Countess ... the slight spicyness, fruity and yummy purpleness, and for me it's fresh like Spring! Midwinter's Eve sounds gorgeous...must locate!

Noobie here and falling head over heels with BPAL. OH MY. I'm trying to gather a short list of items to buy for this next order, or to be on the look out for, that resemble Blood Countess. I'm not really good at describing what I don't like but I can tell you what I have tried and what I'm looking for. I've also spent *hours* searching the forums for suggestions and reviews. Here's what I have thus far but some I know I will never find:
- Queen of Spades
- Red Moon
If you perfume gods and goddesses could help me out I would be greatly appreciative.
Here goes...I've tried and fell in love with "O", but then I tried "Blood Countess" and wow! WOW! I'm in love BUT the scent disappears in a few hours. I want something similar that will stay on longer and yes, I do slather it on.
Scents I've tried that I like:
- O. Pure heaven! Sweet and heavy.
- Morocco. Sexy!
- Voodoo
- Black Dahlia
Scents I've tried that I dislike:
- Aizen-Myoo, sad but true. I love the citrus after a few hours but the first sniff and putting it on makes me gag
- Dragon's Musk. Yuck. Too strong and not sexy.
- Y'ha-Nthlei
- Nyarlathotep

Sweet, loamy earth with light floral note underneath. Lovely! It's a scent I would wear when I don't want anything but I touch.
