  1. At first the floral was over-whelming for me, but I've never liked Jasmine. As I let it settle down the Gardenia becomes more prominent which is so delicious. It's crazy how fast a scent can change from let me go wash this off to wow I really love this. The vanilla's only subtly add to the creaminess of the Gardenia. A very nice blend!

It has the teeny-tiniest plastic on me, like Mouse Circus.

  2. I am a very tough cookie to please. Many BPAL blends are far too heady for me but this is lovely. It distinctly reminds me of a blend Lush would use in their bath products. I really think this could be a huge hit for people who are tougher to please. It is spicy and beautiful.

  3.

That you Sprout that really is an amazing list! I definitely saw a few to pique my curiosity

    And thanks as well Ziggy.

Last night I layered Antique Lace and TKO and while TKO dominated as I fell to sleep when I woke up all bleary eyed at 6am I swore my husband was baking vanilla cookies. When I woke up again at 8 I realized that was what 10 hours of faded AL/TKO was. Delicious vanilla cookies. So now I'm on the hunt for a basic Vanilla cookies/Pure vanilla extract scent.

For me, Sugar Cookie is that quintessential vanilla, foodie scent. I saw it being sold in the thread here recently...

I'm going to try your AL + TKO combination. I'll have to wait for night though to test because TKO is associated with falling asleep on lavender marshmallow clouds in my mind, so I'm afraid it will be too relaxing for daytime wear...

I did equal amounts of each for reference. Dry down was TKO heavy. Let me know how it works for you!

  5. Vanilla favorites?

    Where do I start?

Lyonesse, Zorya P, Pediophobia, Celeste, Mouse's Long & Sad Tale, Love's Philosophy and O to name a few

Capax Infiniti has a lovely vanilla. I would say The Serpentine as well, but that might be a little harder to find and more pricey

Love's philosophy looks great and Zorya P is so loved I would like to give it a try.

  6. I love thieves oil and was looking for a BPAL equivalent blend. I've looked on the threads and spreadsheets but haven't been able to find anything.

My favorite iteration of Thieves is: Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Thyme, Bay, Lavender, Clary sage, and Tangerine.

Anyone aware of a blend that is similar or close to Thieves?

I noticed Over Acuteness of the Sense is a little similar (orange blossom, lemon balm, and clove.)

  7. This smells exactly like a slightly sweeter version of my Father's cologne. Which is a Polo blend in a green bottle he has had for ages. It's comforting to smell. It's definitely masculine to my nose. Smelling an open bottle reminds me of a halloween candy chocolate wrapper, where the sweet memory of chocolate was.

  8. This is very beautiful and as it fades it just gets more beautiful. The rose isn't green, it's a full petaled blooming pink rose. This is a scent that truly evokes a finely decorated sitting room in a tudor mansion. Very very classy. I feel like I should be preparing for a grand ball. What a wonderful scent. However, I feel it doesn't suit my personality.

  9. Oh wow! This seems kind of masculine to me. I really like it! This would be a delightful laundry spray. I wish I could somehow add this scent to freshly washed clothes. The rosewood is delicious. With those notes I'm so surprised this is pulling male on me.

This shares only lavender with Wilde but I find them similar.

  10. In the bottle this smells like play dough with a few chocolate truffles mushed into it. However I only gave the bottle a sniff after I had applied it to my hair. This is an utterly gorgeous scent applied. So deliciously otherworldly, warm, and sweet. I truly love this scent that evokes a sight I have the luxury to see often in this beautiful country.

  11. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp now on what BPAL I like. There are still a few rogue anomalies like Jazz Funeral. Seriously, not one of those notes sounds good to me, yet it's a winner.

Now I am looking for vanilla favorites. I seem to enjoy anything featuring it. My recent favorites are The Moon Reflected in Every Rice Paddy and TKO massage oil. And I did get a shot at Dorian but it's not for me or my husband. He seems to enjoy Wilde much more.

  12. When I was little my mother bought my sister and I two pairs of rosary beads. My Mom dubbed it a miracle after praying to Mary that the beads took on the wonderful scent of rose. It was a full bodied sweet and woody (perhaps smoky) rose, of course the wood lent by the olive wood of the beads. Anyone have any suggestions for a BPAL equivalent scent? I have only tried The Rose before and it was much too green for my taste.

  13. I did not find this weaker than the perfume oil at all, but I am trying it in 2017. I actually may prefer the massage oil in the future because of the extra moisturizing benefits. This really is an amazingly fast absorbing oil and the scent surrounds you even when you wake up. Really it ticks all the boxes I love it and will be purchasing more in the future.

I'd also like to add the art for this oil is different from the site, it is the same as the 5ml oil bottle (the two ladies boxing). And frankly, I love it so much more than the website's picture. Hope future TKO massage oil continues to be packaged this way.
