  1. In the Bottle: I get musk, smoke, and some sweetness. Wet: There's musk, vanilla, and a deeper smell that I can't identify. It doesn't smell good, however. There's something in it that my skin chemistry doesn't like, and it just smells bad -- like Snake Oil gone rancid. Dry: I started writing and forgot to wash this off, and I'm so glad I did. Now it smells absolutely gorgeous. I smell the plum and tobacco, which makes no sense since it's not a scent listed, but that's what it turns into -- slightly sweet plum and smoky tobacco. Beautiful. I'm not sure I can go through the wet phase to get to this, but it's lovely when it dries.

    The Knave of Hearts

Wet: I can't smell the roses at all, but I can smell the tart -- fruity and buttery like a pastry. Honestly, it smells more buttery than sugary. Dry: This is... I can't smell the fruit anymore, but I can smell the buttery pastry and something that... well, OK, it smells like I dragged my wrist over dirt. This is bad, bad, bad on my skin.

    Juke Joint

I loved the idea of this scent, and I wanted it to work me. In the bottle, this smells exactly like it's description -- booze with a little bit of mint. On my skin, the mint comes out first and strongest with an base of whiskey. I love it when it's wet. It's gorgeous, fun, and more than a little inappropriate smelling. Unfortunately, when it's dry, I smell like baby powder. It's slightly sweet, slightly minty baby powder, but it's till baby powder.
  4. The myrrh and orchid are by far the strongest scents in the imp and on my skin, but after ten minutes or so, it turns very spicy and powdery, though I have no idea what I'm smelling exactly. It's definitely more spicy than floral, and while I don't like the scent, it's very... it's an incredibly dry scent and it smells like it should given the concept.

    Coral Snake (2006)

I absolutely love this scent. When it's wet, the red apple is strong and crisp, but after about fifteen minutes, the apple smell fades back a bit and the plumeria and gardenia are more obvious. It's a sweet floral, but not overly sweet, and the base of Snake Oil grounds the scent. It stays on me FOREVER, though it smells like pure Snake Oil after about 10 hours.

I can smell the violet, but the strongest scent is definitely the cloves and another spice -- not sure what. It's not particularly sweet on me. It's spicy, strongly spicy, and somewhat floral. It has excellent throw, but since it's not a scent I like...

    Dirty

Dirty is pretty and clean and does smell like fresh linens with a slightly sweet scent that works really well with my skin. I believe in the floral in it is lilac. Or at least that's what it smells like on me. This is a gorgeous fresh scent.

When it was wet, I couldn't smell much other than the cocoa, and while I like cocoa, I'm not a big fan of foody scents. It's not a sweet cocoa, though. It's more like Mexican chocolate, which has cinnamon but isn't as sweet. As it dried, the smell of cocoa mellowed, the rum came out, and the scent... deepened and turned almost smokey. There's also a sweetness, but it's not a candy, food-y sweetness. It's a lovely scent, but not something I could see myself wearing.

Wow. This is very strong. I love roses, but on me the ylang ylang comes out really strong and it manages to be both powdery and have a sour note to it. It's so overwhelmingly ylang ylang that I can't pick out any other notes, either wet or dry.

Wet: winewinewine! This is definitely a sweet red wine - gorgeous really - and underneath that, I can smell the faintest bit of myrrh, but it's largely wine. Dry: As it dries down, the rose comes out and becomes the strongest scent with the faintest hint of wine in the background. This scent is absolutely beautiful. Sweet and floral and a little dark without being overly sweet or overly floral.

    Aizen-Myoo

Wet: Black tea, sharp bitter citrus, and something a little spicy under that. This scent is citrus-y but it's definitely not any citrus fruit that I know. Citrus scents are great during the summer, but this is a citrus scent with a kick, with attitude. Dry: It mellows and softens a bit, taking on a floral note underneath the citrus, but it's still a bright orange, summer-y scent. I definitely need a bottle of this.

    Punkie Night

In the bottle, it's all apple cider. When it's wet, it has a strong apple bite with almost a cinnamon smell underneath -- very apple cider. Dry: It's spicy now. I think it's nutmeg and cinnamon under the apple, though there's the slightest bit of cranberry in there as well. If you like foody scents, I think this falls more on the side of foody than fruity, if that makes any sense at all. =)

    Spider

Wet: The vetiver, lime, and white ginger are by far the strongest scents. It smells very clean and slightly spicy. It does, however, smell like men's cologne. Dry: The scent softens and loses a bit of its bite. It's more herbal than spicy, and it's more gender neutral than manly.

    Et Lux Fuit

Wet: Ylang Ylang and sunflowers. This has a strong perfume smell to it. My grandmother used to wear something that smells like this. Dry: It turns to powder. Under the powder I can smell carnation, sunflowers, and, well, cheap perfume. This is definitely one for the swap pile.

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

Wet: It's sweet honey with lemongrass under that scent. Dry: Honey-covered flowers. It's not strongly floral. It's a subtle feminine scent, honey and flowers -- it's womanly, not girly. I'm going to have to get several bottles of this. I can't stop smelling my wrist.

    Dia de los Muertos

This is one of my favorites! Wet: I smell the cocoa and smoke. Dry: Oh god. It's incense and flowers with the slightest smell of something like sweet Mexican custard. It's gorgeous. (Dia de los Muertos '06)

    Snow-Flakes

In the bottle I can smell mint and something like the cold smell in Snow White. Unfortunately, on my skin I can't smell anything -- the smell completely disappears and it doesn't matter how many times I sniff at my wrist. Nothing.

    Two, Five & Seven

Wet: this is VERY sweet. It's so sugary that it's a bit overpowering. Dry: now this is gorgeous. It smells like roses after they've bloomed with the slightest green note like fresh cut flowers. It's not sweet the way it was wet, and this doesn't turn powdery on me like some of the rose scents do. It's definitely a keeper. The throw is excellent and it lasts for hours.

    Tweedledee

In the bottle it smells lovely, but on my skin it turns to fruit loops. It's exactly like fruit loops both wet and dry.
