Hmmmmm. This is an interesting one that I keep coming back to try. It can either be gloriously rich & chocolately (without being foody) or it can go all BO and pencil shavings.

Oddly enough, I kept thinking "pear" while I was wearing it. Perhaps that's due to the oak? Either way, it's a lovely scent.

Sweet, but not nearly as sweet as I'd expected! I get a lovely woody apricot vibe from this. Just wish it lasted longer.

If there's a sweet note to be found, my skin is guaranteed to find it and amp it like nobody's business. Interestingly enough, Dana O'Shee didn't go all sickly sweet on me. Instead, it stayed beautifully soft and gentle.

This smelled very grassy/woody to me and the patchouli took awhile to rear its pretty head. I'm on the fence about it!

I purchased an imp of Cathode from a forumite as a way of expanding my scent horizons (now there's a mixed metaphor!). I love mint, and was hoping the "three electric mints" in this would do the trick. Sadly, I couldn't smell them at all. What I did get was a very unpleasant ozone note, and then nothing at all.

Mmmmm ... I was in love with the first whiff of Arcana in all its rosemary glory. Sadly, it faded to a sticky sweet mess.

I'm still on the fence about this one. It's a kick *ss scent that at times veers a little too close to the pencil shavings school of scent. It's got a place in my imp box for now!

I was frimped this in a recent swap and can understand the desire to spread the love! Shub is a lovely scent. It has great presence, but doesn't knock your sock off. Vaguely foody (gingersnaps have been mentioned) but I don't smell like a bakery.

This started out soooooo promising! It was spicy, it was warm, I could practically feel the incense. It went all sweet at the drydown, however.

Came across this thread while doing a search .... I'm enjoying my first Halloween and Yule updates, but they've got me wondering if people wear their seasonal scents during the off season? I mean, would you wear Archangel Winter in June (northern hemisphere!) ? I know the same scents smell different in warm and cool weather, so perhaps the fall and winter scents just wouldn't work in spring and summer? Personally, I love Death of the Grave Digger (snow, soil, opoponax and myrrh) year-round!

Mmmmmmm ... patchouli. This reminds me a bit of the Agony of Heartache with it's slightly fruity patchouliness. The cocoa absolute is a great addition, and for once it works on me (mmmmmm .... must be the patchouli). I honestly can't pick out the red musk, so I guess it doesn't do the evil things to me that it does to other people. This is definitely back-up bottle worthy!

All the depth, beauty, and darkness of All Hallows Eve. Truly, the scent of autumn itself -- damp woods, fir needle and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein. I had to go back and reread the Lab's description on this one! Once again (TP'd Trees, I'm looking at you!) I was expecting a woodiness that the oil did not deliver. In fact, I didn't even get the patchouli! My Samhain is the candy corn and orange wax harmonicas that we dumped out of our trick or treat bags to get to the good stuff ... chocolate! There's the tiniest hint of spice and waaaaay in the background some autumn leaves, both of which ensure that the candy smell doesn't get too noxious. I like it ... but it's so not what I was expecting!

Mmmmm ... a frimp from the Lab that smelled all yummy delicious bergamot in the imp and wet on the wrist. A lavender note or two appeared, but bergamot predominated. Sadly, the bergamot disappeared very quickly, leaving me with an extremely light, vaguely herbal scent. Nice, but not impressive. Incidentally, I did not read the Lab's description, or reviews here, before I tried Baku (I do that with frimps!) and far from making me sleepy, it perked me right up this morning.

Just got my Inquisition today and was so excited when I saw I'd received TP'd Trees! I love woody scents and the combo of cypress, oak, and pine sounded too good to be true. Alas, it was .... all I smell is the TP. Yup, from wet phase to drydown TP'd Trees is a perfect recreation of the soft, sweet, powdery scent you'd notice while squeezin' the Charmin. There's not a single wood note to be found in my bottle. <sigh> At least I got a cool t-shirt!!

Hello, Sister Sweetness! <LOL> I actually gave up on BPAL for awhile because nearly every single imp out of my first two imp packs turned hella sweet on me. We're talking toothache-inducing sweet! Persistence has paid off, though, and I've found more than a few lovelies that wear well with my oh-so-peculiar skin chemistry. White Rabbit is a lovely soft scent - I really "get" the tea and milk in it. The Caterpillar is all incense-y goodness with a bit of green moss tossed in for balance. CD III: Priala and Good Omens: War are both warm, yummy, and spicy. War has a bit more floral in it (to my nose) while Priala has more spice/incense. CD III: Tiresias is my idea of a great nearly foody chocolately scent with lots of warm woods and spices to boot. I think folks have already mentioned Malediction and Cathedral ... definitely NOT sweet scents! If you're looking at LE scents, The Emathides is a lovely rich scent with florals "toned modified" a bit (in terms of sweetness) by black amber, blue musk, and cedar. Now here's a bit of skin chemistry weirdness I've discovered too ... for some reason, some of the scents that are supposed to be sweet/somewhat sweet (MB: Tokyo Stomp, Juke Joint, Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo) work really well on me. I'm guessing that's because they're blended to smell that way and the notes work well with one another .... vs. when my skin picks out a note in some other scents (O, I'm looking at YOU) and amps it up to a point where they overpower everything else.

Drat! I was really hoping the patchouli in this would save me from the sweet notes. No such luck. And it's got a bit too much of the aftershave smell to it, too. Weird, I know!

Another frimp I received from the Lab, so I went ahead and tried it even though most of the floral notes scared me. I was hoping to get some of the lemon or musk or tea. Nope. All I got was a white floral scent. Very sweet and overwhelming on me.

Ditto to the above .. I'm not getting anything smoky and very little woodsy. I do get the somewhat masculine/soapy scent others have mentioned. All in all, it's a pretty innocuous scent.

I had high hopes that the opium and sandalwood would moderate the sweet florals in this frimp I received. No such luck. All I got was the overwhelming smell of lily of the valley!

I finally got around to trying a frimp of this. It's a very evocative scent .... at first vaguely uncomfortable, scorched, dry. During drydown, the more pleasant aspects of the hay came out and I was convinced this was a keeper (maybe not a 5 ml, but at least an imp). Unfortunately, it ended up with a very cologney smell, and not in a good way. I found myself wrinkling my nose throughout the day thinking, "WHO is wearing that cheap cologne? D'OH, it's ME!!"

Thanks so much! I went to add your recommendations to my list of "next to try" and saw that Umbra was already there. Now to add Sin and Masquerade!

Another one that went overly sweet with my weird skin chemistry. And it went soapy too pretty quickly. Not a success.

Juke Joint left me cold at first and then grew on me to the point where I had to have a bottle! It's slightly sweet and Southern Comforting. I'd love a little more mint, though, please!

This was another bad choice in my first batch of BPAL, before I knew what horrible things my chemistry did to anything even remotely sweet. All I got from O was sweet ... awful, cloying, headache-inducing sweet. <sigh>
