  1. Wet: KAPOW!!!ROSE! and ELEMI! Very bright fresh rose.

Drying down: the resins creep out . Still very rose. Its like smelling a rose at a floral shop, damp, fresh and with fresh cut greenery around it.

Dry: A little more complex and peppery but rose is the star of this show from start to finish.

Good thing I like rose :-D

  2. It’s always a bit weird with family. A scant two-hundred years old, there doesn’t seem to be anything that roots Ava to her past. Her scent is utterly contemporary, and, like her personality, it is impulsive, capricious, and dangerous. Voluptuous and brittle, lovely and toxic: sheer vanilla musk with tuberose, red mandarin, and the sweet poison of white almond.

I agree with the above review. The first time I wore this I thought "Flowerbomb". But Ava is so much better! Eye rolling to the back of ones head better. Yes, she is capricious and contemporary but orgasmic just the same.

  3. Good Lord! This is stunning! I agree with a previous poster that it seems to have a decadent tobacco note. What i think is probably happening is the chocolate, brown sugar and anise are blending so well together it comes across as tobacco. I usually cant wear blends with anise but this is so smokey sweet and spicy it is perfect. The gingers add a zing and the other spices and herbs add complexity. All praise Beth for her masterful blending skills!

  4. This is probably the best rose scent I've tried. I love Queen Venus with a Hood Striped Black and Gold but even in that blend the rose comes across sharp. In The Expiration the rose is deep dark and rounded. Gorgeous and well blended with the other notes into a seamless whole.

  5. The White Witch reminds me of Crypt Queen (pomegranate, patchouli and rose) only much more light and wearable. .The black pepper and blood accord in Crypt Queen didn't

work too well for me so I'm glad that White Witch is a lovely resinous pomegranate I will be happy to wear.

Edit....on aging the red musk and amber take over with the pomegranate adding sweetness. A lovely, spicy blend.

  6. Burnt plastic. :-( And I had such high hopes.

Update: After settling for several days this suddenly became a wearable melty vanilla. It still veers towardsplastic on occasion but I can usually wear it. Works well as a layering scent.

  7. Ninon is lovely. She, appropriately, smells like expensive French perfume to me. The seamlessness of the blend reminds me of OLLA Eve;each note blending with the others. Initially on my skin she is lavender and hay, not something I find too extraordinary, but about fifteen minutes after application the warm notes suddenly blossom. Ninon dries down to a sensual glowing scent. Another reviewer stated that Ninon is a close to the skin perfume, and I agree. .I keep huffing my wrists like crazy! Big winner for me.

Edit*This has become one of my very favorites. I wear Ninon when I want to feel powerful yet sexy. Complex but accessible. So much love!

Edit**Ninon has been my favorite perfume for about two years now.

  8. On wet this smells to me like a campfire extinguished by rain. There is a gritty ash feel but also a damp earth scent.

As this dries down it smells more like a charred sweet wood. Warmer and less dirt smelling. Not one i would reach for often but very, very intriguing.

  9. From my wee tester...

Black Silk is sleek, black and deep.

I agree with the 'chewy' adjective.

What this scent most reminds me of is chewing on a piece of high quality black liquorice.

All of the scent notes blend pretty well. The most prominant

To my nose is a smoky Patchouli.

This is a lovely, seductive, smoky blend.

This one will age VERY well.

  10. I was gifted a decant of this. I'm in agreement with the above reviews that say there is something sour or bitter in this. Fro, the above comments i guess its the hemp. The vanilla is lovely and the patch woody and pretty but that bitter note makes this a no go. Which doesnt upset me as i really didnt need another unicorn. :-)

Edit- I've been getting more and more into patchouli scents and now Banshee Beat smells really good. A dear friend gave me a mini bottle for Christmas. I also have a full bottle of Revenant Rhythm hair gloss on its way.

  11. Frimp from the lab.

On my skin it is honey swirled around thedarkest musk with a wash of exotic spice over the top. Warm and sexy. Thank you labbies for knowing just what would appeal to me!

  12. In the bottle this was a sharp sour floral.

On Wet the pepper, the pikaki and tuberose come out and kick you in the nose.

Dry down, this is a spicy floral with something warm and sweet (amber? Vanilla?)tying the whole scent together. This is like exotic flowers in a garden next to a spice bazaar under a warm tropical sun.

Not something I'd usually wear but glad i got the bottle for when i feel like being exotic, feminine and dangerous.

  13. Most gorgeous frankincense blend ive tried. This is exactly like the frankincense/ copal resin blend i like to use as incense. Long lasting and holy. Purely divine.

*Edit...this smells like a scented Christmas card my family received when i was little. I loved that card! It was about the three wise men and their gifts.

  14. This is all about wood. It has a bit of a high pitched note that fades quickly. Im thinking thats the brass note. Then it settles to a soft woody note, like sandalwood only not as soapy. The wood note is layered...blonde wood and brown wood. As it seeps further and further into my skin it gets warm and sweet. Im not a big woods fan but this is truly decadent.

  15. I havent tried Dorian perfume yet due to the lab being out of stock so i decided to take a chance and get the hair gloss in a swap. Now I NEED the perfume!! This scent is amazing. As a hairgloss it keeps wafting around me. And the gloss is so lovely on my fine, curly, short bleached hair. To me this smells like a lighter version of Black Lace. Everything I loved about Black Lace and none of the things I disliked. So much win!!

  16. On Wet this is OMG PEPPER! With a backdrop of honey.

As it dries down the pepper recedes to leave a honeyresin sweetness.

Its a very spicy resin. Still not sure if this is a keeper. The peppery spice

May not work for me in the long run. We'll see.

*8/2016 This has become a favorite. I've gotten much more into patchouli in the past couple of years.

  17. As others have already mentioned this scent smells expensive. The way every note is blended together is amazing. The stand out note for me is the frankincense. It anchors the other notes for me and is truly lovely.
