  1. All notes that love me: amber-check, tobacco leaf - check, sandalwood - check, sweet musk - check. The only unknown was hay sugar and it seems to fit right in the group. The only negative is that her throw is low on me. Otherwise, she is a glowing, warm, musky tobacco scent that makes me feel warm and snuggly.

  2. Fear of darkness. Oppressive, stifling, suffocating, blinding: black patchouli, tobacco absolute, opoponax, and inky black musk.

SO VERY DARK! Best way to describe this is: Black Silk's older angrier brother. You know. The one who threatens to beat you up if you pick on his sister.....and MEANS it.

Added some Snake Oil to smooth things out and it is glorious!

  3. The first time I tried this as a frimp from the lab it was way too sharp for me, but I was very much into honey notes at the time. Flash forward a couple of years and I'm much more into woods.A lovely swap partner decided she wanted to swap her brand new bottle, and I decided to give AM another chance.....and so glad I did!The teak does start the show with a blast of bitter woods, but it soon settles down into the most comforting vanilla tobacco ever. Definitely worth the second chance.

  4. So gorgeous! I was hoping for something along the lines of Mr. Ibis and this does not dissapoint. The reeds are a beautiful, fresh, green note with the myrrh grounding it and the vanilla cream softening the edges. Bravo, Beth! Another stunning masterpiece! This will probably be my summer go to scent next year.

  5. Lavender and ylang-ylang holding hands with frankincense coming up behind them and throwing his arms around their shoulders. As it dries down I get a little fig sweetness and a warm resiny goodness from the amber and patchouli. Will most definitely join my comforting scent/sleep scent box.

  6. Received this as a frimp from a swap partner. A swap partner who knows me very, very well.

First off dark/black musks LOVE me, and I them. Also, I've been discovering that patchouli does as well.

In the imp this smells musky and a little herbal. Not promising, but not off putting.

Wet on skin it smells a little too bright at first. Maybe the labdanum or saffron?

Dry down the musk blooms and melds with the wood spice and African woods. Patchouli adds a rooty, dark element. The whole scent blends together in a deep musky and spicy wood scent. This is dead sexy on me and has become an instant GC favorite. Need a big bottle.

My favorite oils are Minotaur, Streets of Detroit and Ninon if that helps anyone who loves those to know Oblivion might be for them.

If you love woody scents but don't want them too sharp, you need to try this.

A lovely complex blend that can work as unisex. Top notes are definitely all the woods, but the beeswax and honey smooth them out.

  8. As a huge frankincense fan i dont know why its taken me this long to get this one. In fact, it was part of a blind bottle swap. This is sooo good if you are a resin fan. Reminds me of going to midnight mass with my catholic best friend in high school. Pure, holy and reminiscent of walking out of church into the cold Christmas eve night air feeling blessed.

  9. I LOVE this! I can pick out the vanilla musk, tuberose, plum nectar and apple blossom. The rest blends together to make everythingseamless. This is a light, more innocent Witch Queen (Witch Princess?). Long lasting, gorgeous throw. This is definitly my main summer scent for the year!

  10. This starts out with the apple/ floral blast of chamomile. I find chamomile soothing so this doesnt phase me. On drying down the vanillas come out and seamlessly blend with the chamomile becoming a soft floral vanilla. This is one of my "keep by the bed" bottles because it helps sooth me to sleep if im anxious.

  11. Hail unto Thee who art Ahathoor in Thy triumphing, even unto Thee who art Ahathoor in Thy beauty, who travellest over the heavens in thy bark at the Mid-course of the Sun. Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Morning!

I want spicy resins too!!! I get.....bandaids? Not for me. :-(

  12. I have recently realized that a large portion of my collection is very rose heavy. I decided to list the main perfumes with rose (not including the oils where rose plays a minor role.)

Queen Venus in a Hood Striped Gold and Black- rose and the most amazing fossilized amber. The dry down on this is exquisit.

The Expiration- myrrh and a very lush, decadent rose.

Om Gan Ganapaytaye Namaha- Frankincense, sandalwood, rose and clary sage. This one comes across as very "bright" to me.

Spooky Action at a Distance- rose and sandalwood. Starts off mostly rose and a spark of elemi and dries down to a lovely rose sandalwood cloud.

Zombi-dried roses and dirt. That pretty much says it all

Ossa Arida-Probably my favorite rose/resin combo. Light rose, frankincense, amber,sandalwood....just a gorgeous combo!

Wildfire-roses and burning woods? This does not play well on my skin. It must go.

I have other oils where rose is a more minor player.
