kill-devil is SO EFFING DELICIOUS. sweet, sticky and dark. it's kind of like bonfire night only not burnt and smokey. the honey is gorgeous, so smooth and sweet. the mollasses is dark and gooey and the wood rounds it all out. lasts a long time, too. i am in love!

this stuff is great. feminine but not frilly or girly- this woman is a bad ass. i don't get any patchouli (thankfully) and the rum and sarsparilla add a certain sweetness. it's definitely salty but it's not all cologney men's body wash, as some aquatics tend to go. at times it's almost creamy. this was a really pleasant surprise!
-
i love that plunder is spicy and cinnamony but not at all foody. it's a very dry scent. pleasant, woody, spicy and warm. after a while the cinnamon settles down and the tobacco and tea lend an earthier sweetness. i love this!

beaver moon started out smelling very vanilla, like a freshly baked yellow cake. it reminds me a lot of eat me. the drydown is quite different, more like strawberry ice cream- mmm! for a fleeting minute it's sweet and creamy and almost effervescent. unfortunately after that it turns into this barely there, fake plasticy berry scent. when i was a little kid i had these stuffed animals called yum yums. they each had a different scent. eventually my mom packed them away and all the scents intermingled... this smells exactly like that box. to the swaps!

note-by-note, i really should hate this, but it's not bad at all. i am not sure about the neroli, but the grapefruit (super tart) and green tea are really nice. this is quite tangy and fresh... there's nothing sad about it to me, haha. the lab, in its infinite wisdom, sent this as a frimp and, lo and behold, i love it more than midnight kiss (which i ordered a 5 mL of).
-
oh, midnight kiss! *sobs dramatically* we could have been so good together! but that bitch sandalwood had to come between us!
seriously. wine, cocoa, red musk, amber?! that should be PERFECT on me- but instead when i sniff this all i get is a big hunk of sandalwood dusted lightly with cocoa powder. i always thought i amped wine like no other, but apparently in a battle royale between the two, sandalwood comes out on top. curses.

pirate moon is actually too fresh for me. i love red musk and it's delicious in here; there's a very pleasant woodiness and sweetness as well, but what dominates on me is the grass. it's incredibly green and grassy. it brings to mind a bright, sunny island in the middle of a crystalline blue sea. beautiful but too bright for me!

the phoenix is simply divine. i smell like the sexiest wench ever to sail the seven seas. it's salty and fresh but the blood (is that dragon's blood resin? 'cuz if so, mmmm) and snake oil lend a smoother, rounded quality to it. i love this dearly- and to think i almost skipped over it! leave it to me to declare a limited run forum only scent as my One True BPAL Love.

this smells like sugary plastic in the bottle and flowery plastic on my skin. no incense, no cake, no... anything. the only good thing about it is that it disappears completely within a few minutes.
-
my only complaint about bonfire night is that the scent does not last nearly long enough on my skin. this is a dark, rich, sweet, smokey scent- i can't say much beyond that, but it is so good. i only got a decant but i definitely need a bottle of this one.
-
in the bottle, all i get is buttery pumpkin, and on my skin it's the same creamy pumpkiny scent, with a hint of spice. it also sadly lasts about 5 minutes before vanishing altogether.
-
death of autumn is what i hoped october would smell like. in the bottle all i get is wet foilage but on me it's driving on a dark road through thick woods on a cool autumn night with the smell of burning leaves thick in the air. it's amazing.
-
so that's vetiver? eep. i also don't think oak moss likes me very much. this is way too bitter for me and almost makes me queasy.
-
this is gorgeous. i don't know if i would call it my One BPAL To Rule Them All but it is definitely up there. it's effing gorgeous. old books and incense! there is one stage, after it's just applied, where it's super strong (odd because i figured this would be a much softer scent) and almost harsh but as it dries it is just beautiful, a smoky skin scent... not much throw but it lasts long... this could actually be my first multiple bottle scent.
-
spicy wine and smoke, evergreen and really sexy musk. this is so perfect for autumn and really sexy, which i didn't necessarily expect. i really love the way this smells on me!
-
so- this is totally delicious. on me it's all juicy black cherry, rose and sweet honey. after a little while the rose really pops- i amp rose like crazy but before that it's this delicious sticky fruit i want to sink my teeth into. (i managed to resist the urge to bite my arm.) later some of the spicy carnation comes out. mm.
-
at first it smells like damp leaves. it does smell autumnal, but it is not at all what i had expected. as it dries it becomes very "men's cologne" although it's one that i like a lot. i won't wear this. it's definitely not the dream scent i had been hoping for, but good in its own right.
-
the pumpkin is really dominant at first. the butteriness remains as it dried and a little bit of the tart pomegranate starts to come through. i do love pumpkin but this just isn't distinctive enough.

some reviewers have described this as a mature scent or one for an older woman and i concur. it's really too old for me. the violet and wisteria are strongest. it's not really a cloying floral, just kind of powdery.
-
starts out piney and lush and dries into something darker and even better. if this is black musk, i love it. this really does smell like a forest at night- dark, damp, spooky. it smells great on me and i think it would be awesome for a guy, too. i actually really like this for fall.
-
at first it smells like sandalwood but then the spiciness fades and it just smells like... i don't know, generic wood? oddly enough later in the drydown it becomes considerably spicier. i wish i knew what i was smellng! it's a pleasant, comforting scent to me, but i don't think i can wear it as perfume very well.
-
in the imp i smelled delicious crisp apple, but on my skin it's ALLLLLLLL rose! then the lemon comes along and is unfortunately a very strong, bitter lemon- more like lemon peel or something. eep.
-
yeah so turns out, i don't like juniper. this is all juniper and annoyingly cloying flowers. really sour. as it dries i get a little rosewood and sandalwood and i wish those would come out more. actually the drydown is considerably more pleasant but those flowers keep creeping back up- ick.
Singing Moon

singing moon is much sweeter than i expected. it really is very evocative... i regretted not ordering a bottle when it came out and now my partial is not enough! it smells like moonlight over a cemetery overlooking the sea. sweetly herbal with faint whiffs of sea air and smoke. i've never smelled anything quite like it. it's fantastic.
