    Dia de los Muertos

As someone already mentioned, floral incense is a good description. Once on, I don't get any of the foody smells It's a soft floral with a smoky feel to it. It's very pretty but I don't think it's my cup of tea.

    Haunted

Haunted: Wet: When I first put this on, I get green almost citrusy scent. I was actually questioning why this imp was in my "like" pile. Dry: This scent completely changes to a lovely warm round amber. Makes me think of golden light filtering through the windows during a beautiful sunset.

    Dana O'Shee

Dana O'Shee: Wet: Honey and sharp almond Dry: the almond disappears and it's all warm honey and milk. This is absolutely wonderful! Sweet but not cloying. Similar to Dragon's milk but lighter.

    Dragon's Milk

Dragons Milk: Wow...sweet vanilla and the dragon's blood "cherriness" peeking out. This is another wonderful vanilla blend from the lab. And the honey is just tickling my nose. Larger bottle, definitely!

    Forbidden Fruit

Forbidden Fruit: Wet: Sweet Tarts! On: This smells like a ripe plum without the tartness. Maybe that's the amber and lotus. I don't get any citrus. Very light. Reminds me a lot of Mabon which is strange because they don't have any of the same notes.

    Empyreal Mist

This is a fresh, sparkly scent. It's very green...but a fresh green with a little bit of a soft floral. This would be great for days when I need to be alert and on my toes but will need something to center me.

    Blood Rose

Blood Rose Wet the dragons blood and rose are strong but well blended. Neither scent over powers the other. Dry this mellows into a soft fruity rose scent. Very nice. Generally I don't like florals but I like this.

    Has No Hanna

This was the first BPAL oil that I had to go wash off. This was a very sharp, green scent on me and it didn't change at all after a couple of hours. Very strong. Kind of reminded me of dried oregeno. This will be going to the swap pile.

    Baron Samedi

Baron Samedi: Wet: Very strong, very boozy scent On: This dries to a really lovely spicy rum scent I can see how this would smell great on a man but I think I'll be keeping this one for myself.

Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...

I plan on wearing Velvet on the days I travel. It struck me as a comforting scent and I am always anxious ball of nerves on the days I travel.

    Perversion

This scent is amazing. At first it smells very coconutty, reminds me of a pina colada! As it mellows out, I can smell the leather. It stays sweet, though. Kind of like I just pulled out my old leather jacket and when the last time I wore it, I had spilled some pina colada on it! Yummy!

    Mabon 2004

Like Koumori, my first impression was of grapefruit. I think that must be the sage/apple combination. This does not smell at all like what I expected. This isn't foody at all. This has an herby, menthol component which is strongest on me with the apple/blackberry cider scent lingering with it. I really like this! Perfect for Autumn.

    Velvet

Oh my...this is fabulous! Chocolate, but not like a candy bar. A dark, bittersweet cocoa with a smoky quality. Like melting chocolate over a campfire. And yet, it's not really a foody scent! The other notes are there but they are mingling beautifully with the dark smoky cocoa smell. I have got to get more of this!
  14. Sheila, Assume your BPAL order will take about 5 weeks (unless you are international). I think the CCNOW message just means that the BPAL folks have your order. I'm still fairly new myself, but I have learned not to pay any attention to the CCNOW status. ETA: I am still waiting for an order from August 17th (patience is a virtue, right?)

    Lampades

Lampades: ... Their scent is the crisp, inviting bittersweet tang of cranberry with smoky dark lilies, heady, sensual musk, a tingle of ginger and a brush of Mediterranean spices. Wet: this is very fruity with a little tartness Dry: Still very fruity. I don't get any of the musks or florals. After about 4 hours, it's completely gone I will probably be using up my imp to scent my car. This would be a lovely room scent or car scent.

    Harvest Moon 2004

Out of the bottle: Lordy this is potent! Smells like a really sweet strong hard liquour. This completely changes once it's dry. The sweet heaviness dissappears and it becomes a light floral scent. I'm not really into florals, but this is pretty. It will be a nice change from the usual musky scents I wear.

    Regan

Regan: Oooh..I really like this! Sweet vanilla with a little bit of a heady floral mingled together perfectly. Very feminine.

    Dragon's Bone

This is a light, dry scent on me. The first molecules that hit my nose are sandalwood, but it immediately taken over by the orris root. Unfortunately, the orris root goes straight through my nose and to the back of my throat, where I can taste it! Unfortunately, it doesn't taste nearly as good as smells! It also lasts a long time. I put it on yesterday morning and I can still smell it this morning.

    O

O: This very sweet on me with a deep musky undertone. Very warm and lovely. The little bit of sharp musk smell gives it that "just after sex" smell (but it is subtle). This is a keeper!
