  1. In the bottle: Snake Oil and dragon's blood

Wet: The patch comes out more, it reminds me a bit of Mme Moriarty

Dry: As it dries the honey comes out, and it all melds into a musky warm snekky blanket

I had high hopes for this, and I was not disappointed! If you are a fan of Snake Oil, Dragon's Milk, or Mme Moriarty, then you will probably love this.

  2. Cherry blossoms cascading onto a snowdrift, white wisteria buds, and ume petals.

In the bottle: Pine and cherry blossoms
Wet: A blast of minty pine sweetened by cherry blossoms
Dry: As it dries, it becomes sweeter and creamier, the pine goes away. I don't get any wisteria, and I think the ume petals are adding to the sweetness. It eventually dries to a sweet, slightly vanilla cherry blossom scent.

This scent seems to have a lot going on, but it dries to such a lovely scent. If you like Bpal's cherry blossom note you should give this a try. And if you're like me and don't like the Snow White snow note, this is the minty, piney snow note.

  3. This scent took me by surprise. I expected it to smell much different based on the notes. It is definitely a peach blossom and not peach fruit scent. The musk is the star player and reminds me of the musk in the Anniversary Swift as Light. The almond peeks out as it dries. I think it gives the scent some creaminess. If you are a musk lover like me, you need to try this scent!

  4. In the bottle: warm amber, vanilla, and a hint of citrus, and possibly spice

Wet: Rich vanilla, feels very golden and warm

Dry: Becomes a close to the skin vanilla

I was lucky enough to grab a bottle off of Etsy. It's a shame that this couldn't have a wider release because it is truly beautiful. It reminds me a lot of Edith, in fact I think I like this better than her. Simple, elegant, and gorgeous.

  5. Is there anyone else who has tried both, and felt a similarity between, Mini Magdalene and Petite Planchette? I feel like the wood/vanilla synergy is working similarly. (This is A-OK with me, as I loved Mini Mag and no longer have any.)

I put both on side by side, and I agree that they are quite similar. They both have that warm, glowing sensation going on. However Mini Mag is much sweeter, a slightly resinous beeswax on my skin, and Petite Planchette is more resinous, mostly frankincense and wood on me. But still very close scent wise. I'm interested to see how Petite Planchette ages, if the honey and vanilla come out more and sweeten it.

  6. In the bottle: nail polish remover

Wet: Beautiful red rose like the one in Peacock Queen (that one does the wierd nail polish thing on me too) and lily

Dry: The lily goes slightly soapy but the rose stays so fresh and sweet. Smells very elegant and clean.

This is such a beautiful scent. I just got my order of Liliths in today, and I'm usually more of a gourmand person, but I could not stop huffing my arm with this! I waffled on this one when I ordered because I have so many rose scents, but this is stunning! So glad I got a bottle!

  7. Thanks to my fairy for procuring this for me!

In the bottle: Tart cherries and sugar

Wet: The sugar crust and meringue mix with the cherries. Gorgeous!

Dry: The cherries are pretty much in the background, the sugar crust and meringue steal the show here!

The drydown on this actually reminds me of a less fruity Velvet Unicorn. But it doesn't last very long at all, barely 2-3 hrs. So I'm hoping that it just needs a little more time to rest. So glad I got a bottle of this! Beautiful!

Thank you both for all the recommendations! I do have The Bride, Cave of Treasures, and Sanguinem Menstrum. I love them all, but I think the florals in the first two, and the red musk in the last take over the scent. I think Celestia is right, I really love the honey dominate blends :D You guys have given me so many great suggestions! I will start hunting for some of these! Thank you!

In that case, armed with that knowledge for your desire to experience honey/amber and honey/light musk dominant blends, let: Blossoms in Springtime, O, Harikata, The Lights of Men's Lives, and This Wan White Humming Hive be your first hunts! :D

Let us know how you go!

Harikata sounds amazing! I have to hunt down a bottle of that! Anactoria, Sleeping Nymphs, and A Wonderful Light sound awesome as well! Definitely keeping an eye open for those! And possibly Creeper Dragon and Mrs. Bunce. I have a teeny amount of Blossoms in Springtime, so I rarely use it. So I tested it again and yep, amazing! Need more! And I should mention that I amp beeswax, so as nice as Wan White Hummingbird and Lights of Men's Lives are, they turn into beeswax single note on my skin.

Edit: I'm realizing that I have a lot more scents like this in my collection than I thought :-P

Anyone have suggestions for scents that contain honey with musk and/or amber? That scent combination is absolutely intoxicating to me. I have Lady Una, Swift as Light, Blooming Flowers of Spring, Faun, and recently got Vagina Treasure hair gloss. I love the slight skankiness of the hair gloss.

For sure The Bride, if you can find it, I like the honey musk in it even better than Lady Una.

Another one that doesn't get as much love as it deserves is Sleeping Nymph and Satyrs Wild woods, Bulgarian rose, tolu balsam, vanilla absolute, ambergris, honey, and vanilla. The ambergris is very musky in it.

Creeper Dragon is a sexy honey and musk scent Creeper Dragon Musk: daemonorops, green leather, and red musk with dribbles of honey and white cream.

Sanguinem Menstruum is another musk/honey/beeswax fave The copper tang of blood musk, swept by a cloud of dying bees and red poppies of madness.

For a much darker honey and musk scent, I like The Cat Sleek, black, dark, and clever: benzoin, honey, cedar, and dark musk

Thank you Celestia for the recommendations! I have a few on that list that I haven't tried in a while, so I will have to take them out and re-test them! And the others I'm going to go read some reviews and see what I can find. L'Estate has been on my wishlist forever, and I recently snagged a bottle, so I'm excited to see how it smells! It sounds like we like a lot of the same scents!

You are super welcome! I can never resist answering honey/amber blend requests! Haha. I hope there's something that works for you!

I don't get much honey per se, from L'Estate but it is indeed a glorious golden blend! I was also actually super excited to read that you love Lady Una and Blooming Flowers of Spring. Lady Una is mostly honeyed tea and light musk on me, it's my favourite dominant floral-honey blend! The Bride also has honey musk as aforementioned in my post, but it's not so honey-centric like Lady Una is, it's a lot more fresh clean due to the floral (magnolia) in that blend..which is also quite dominant! I get more honey from Cave of Treasures (and it also has amber!) but that too is also quite floral-dominant, but they are indeed absolutely beautiful floral-centric honeyed blends abd worth testing. Who knows, your chemistry might go either way ... It might be all honey musk and honey/amber on you!

Since Blooming Flowers of Spring was predominantly also very honey-centric on me, I thought you might prefer more honey dominant blends :D ( without a lot of extra stuff, like red musk or tobacco, which I find can overwhelm an otherwise very honey-amber-centric blend.. but you might love them even more, hence I added some anyway. You might like to try them if they don't contain any notes you are adverse to).. but yes! I took a peek at your wishlist and we do seem to like quite a bit of the same scents :D Yayyyy! I'm going to shut up now because I could go on about honey and amber all day.

I love them all, but I think the florals in the first two, and the red musk in the last take over the scent. 10. Thank you Celestia for the recommendations! I have a few on that list that I haven't tried in a while, so I will have to take them out and re-test them! 11.

  12. In the bottle: The dead leaf note and neroli are front and center. I don't really pick up red musk.

Wet: The red musk emerges. It's quite dry and the neroli is giving a bit of greenness and bitterness to the blend.

Dry: All three notes meld together beautifully. There is a bit a smokiness from the musk and the scent has smoothed out considerably.

When I first got this over a year and a half ago, I was disappointed because it was so dry and sharp. I didn't get hardly any red musk. Aging has done wonders and I'm so glad I hung on to this. I'll be wearing this come fall time along with the hair gloss!

  13. To me anything with coconut and orange blossom and/or neroli screams summer and happiness in a bottle to me. The scents I own that have this combination in them are:

    Avunculus

Beanman and Beanwoman Prepare to Attack the Vagina

    Violet Hilton

Violet is the perfect summer floral, absolutely gorgeous.

  14. In the bottle: Apple and lavender

Wet on skin: The apple and lavender are fighting over who is the dominant one

Dry on skin: The vanilla cream comes out and softens the lavender and apple. There is a hint of spice, which I'm assuming is the bergamot. I don't really get any patchouli.

I think this is my favorite of the Lupers this year. It's a beautiful creamy scent, and has a comforting feeling. I think this will only get more beautiful as it ages.

  15. I first bought this scent when the carnival came back in 2015. I thought all of the notes sounded perfect. But when I tried it, it was so sharp and medicinal, and not at all what I was expecting. So it went in the back of my drawer. I took it out a couple more times over the years but it still smelled so sharp.

So recently on a whim I decided to skin test it. It was still very sharp at first, but then the vanilla came out, and it turned into this wonderful, smooth, fruity scent with a lovely incensey base. This is what I wanted it to be all along. It has catapulted to one of my top scents. I'm so glad I didn't get rid of this!

  16. In the bottle: Buttery cake, tea, and fruit

Wet: It reminded me of something, and then I realized it was some of my loose leaf herbal fruit teas. The buttery cake is prominent. Smells heavenly!

Dry: It reminds me of Plush Viscera. The butter note is gone, and the rosewater has come out. It smells like a very sweet fruit tea with added rose petals! So glad I got a bottle!
