  1. Sensual, sibilant, sexual and hypnotic: Arabian musk and exotic spices slinking through Egyptian amber, enticing vanilla, and a serpentine blend of black plum, labdanum, ambrette, benzoin and black coconut.

Oooh.. Goodness! This was way worth the wait and the HOM mix up.
    This smells divine!
Snake charmer never really worked on me, it was a bit too heavy. But this is just right. It's very close to snake charmer, with the vanilla and insence and a smell of baked goods and sex, but this is lighter and not cloying at all . I think maybe I can detect a hint of coconut, and a whiff of plum which is a tiny bit tart, but this is blended to perfection.
It's a warm, yummy, sexy, comfort scents, and I am keeping this one for sure.

  2. Pretty roses and sweetness! Not candy sweet, but more like a cake. A strawberry shortcake maybe? Very pretty, and it seems pretty stable staying a sweet rose for hours until it finally fades away.

However, this isn't really my favorite rose since moon rose has my heart for soft rose scents.

  3. First on a citrus of some sorts, and something green, this feels very layered. A bit spicy maybe? This one definitly agrees with my skin. Very bright, clean and happy. But not innocent by any means.

It dries down to some sort of spicey, herby citrus. Definitly golden. I wouldn't mind having a bottle of this, although I don't know if I'd actually buy one.

  4. I love this! So glad I got the 5ml off the bat.

First on dirt. Very much like Nosferatu. Then something acrid and sharp, this is where i got worried the first time, but as it dries down it gets really mellow. Dirt, some sort of wood, some sort of floral and a hint of gingerbreadynes. I find it really hard to describe since it's such a unique scent. The final dry down is a soft ginger and hint of floral dirt. This review does not even do it justice.

I feel so grounded and calm when I wear this. It's just... it smells like earth, not as in dirt finally, but as a broader concept of earth and warmth and being grounded. :P i feel like my brain has melted... one of my most scattered reviews to date.. but i love Penny Dreadful!

  5. Like the others, not what I was expecting at all.

But while my search for a dark and insency scent continues, this one is nice too.

There is no rose listed, but it smells almost exactly like moon rose to me. In that dewy citrusy floral way. I can sense some amber maybe. Definitly a very light scent.

I'm gonna keep this one. Again, not what I expected, but I found a really nice dewy amber-floral instead

ETA: thought this was snake charmer at first.

This is really House of Mirrors --Shollin

  6. I put this on and it straight off reminded me of something else, so I went throught my bpal list and AHA, it smells very similar to morgause! Which must be the same night blooming flowers, only without the violet.

This smells like soft flowers, and moonflower always smells like berries on me. So I get a very soft, airy floral with sweet berries, and then an undertone of something a little bit earthy which would be the cardamom. I like it! For once Jasmine didnt turn on me.

  7. This smells alomost exactly like Clinique Happy. Very smooth and bright. I don't think any of the notes are the same, but I think its the aloe that makes them smell similar to me.

sort of citrusy but the aloe really takes the edge off. I like this one alot, but due to the sweetness I can tell I would get sick of it fairly quickly if I ever got a bottle.

  8. This was suprisingly pleasant!

I really like vetiver, and this is my first civet. I was worried, but I like this alot!

It first really dark, musty, evil. Does sort of smell like old people. But the fade down is to a very vetiver, mossy, dark and dry scent. But at the same time that its a cave, it's also very cozy. I would put this on to cozy up on the sofa with a good dark book in front of an open fire.

Definitly conjures up dark evil imagaes, but at the same time.. i like it! and somehow it smells cozy, like an old blanket that the cat has been sleeping on. (but not in a cat pee way, I get no civet=pee notes here at all)

  9. ooo, i get chocolate in here on my skin. Smoky, dark chocolate. A very lingering, sensous smell. Smoky and dark, with roses and a hint of sweetness (cactus flower?).

This is a very different rose scent from the others in the catalogue, this is neither innocent not sultry.. this is... hmm.. it does smell like things you would offer to a goddess. chocolate, clouds of incense (or maybe this is the vetiver?), and dried roses.

Very nice! Will finish my imp for sure.

  10. Very clean, fresh, and green. Along the same vein as empyrial mist and old glasgow to me. Very natural and outdoorsy.

It smells like spring time grasses and moss. Well, now that I think of it, mainly moss. Wet moss. Like holding my face down the ground in a forest. A tiny bit of soapyness.

This is my favorite clean scent to date, but I'm not usually looking for a clean scent, so I will just keep my imp and it should last me more than well for when I want to feel fresh and springy in a completly nonfloral way.

  11. Got this as a gift from my lovely swapfaery.

First on: Lavander. Smells alot like the sleep blends. I also get licqorish (sp?), not anise, but the store bought candy kind.

Soon: This really mellows out. Sooft, soft lavander, manybe a little soapy. But it smells so soft, and I don't mean weak, i mean it smells SOFT. Like down.. or petals.. or bunny rabbits. Very weird! I've never smelled something that conjured up a texture before.

Later: 4 hours later I can smell it for sure. Still mellow, still soft. Not that much a change since before. This is really white, soft and clean! smells a little like dove soap, but definitly lived up to its name.

  12. wowza, this is amazingly piratey! I get leather and ocean, and bonfires and stinky pirates drinking booze. I thought this would smell better on a guy though, my my bf said "foooochie, this stinks!" and in a way.. it does! But it stinks like pirates, and thats the whole point! A real amazing scent.

  13. this smells very aquatic on me. Musty, wet florals, with a some lingering herbs. Fades away after an 3 or 4 hours. Pretty nice, sort of relaxing, but didn't really make me feel in any particular way. Not sexy.. at all.. if anything it makes me want to clean things.

  14. This is a very pretty floral on me, I don't really get any vetiver at all. If anything it reminds me of an airier black dahlia which i suspect is due to the sandalwood. Very pretty, although probly not my favorite floral.

Dry down is light sandalwood, a hint of very pretty musk and a trace of bright florals. This is one of the prettiest musk blends I've smelled to date.

  15. I get lots and lots of lavender from this one. Of the sleep blends, this is the most mellow to me. Much less tart than the others. When I finally decided on a sleep oil it was between this one and Baku, ultimatly Baku won cause it was stronger, but Temple of Dreams is still very lovely and very relaxing before bed.

  16. wow, I know this smell somewhere! But where? some reason my instict says holiday/novelty shop, maybe some sort of a doll? It smells sweet and thick, almonds, herbs, alcohol? Smells almost plasticy at first, and then it mellows out to a sweet almond and that odd scent I can't figure out.

Not an every day scent, but whatever it reminds me off conjures up good memories, so definitly a keeper.

  17. when I first put this on I get methol coughdrops, for sure. definite cough drops. Ten minutes later, it mellows out. Incense, nice! a hint of wood (cedar?). smoky. dark. but yet... the methol cough drops linger, leaving sort of a cold sensation to the smell. I like the dry down a lot, but the start is a bit unpleasant to me.

  18. This is very pretty on. Golden, and soft, with a hint of apple and florals. I like amber alot, but it smells sort of weird on me sometimes and I get this in here too.

I want to like this! I do! But it sort of gives me a headache and makes me feel sickly. damn,

  19. Ok. I don't even know what the things that are listed to be in here smell like in their own. But I do know that this smells like the perfect match for Bastet.

I get alot of the same notes in the two, or maybe they just feel the same somehow. But to me this is the masculine counterpart of Baset.

    Incense, yes!

    Honey, I think so!

Sweet, sticky smoke, and herbs! Yes!

This smells sweet one, not like candy or fruit sweet, but a sweet smoke. Very interesting, very warming, and almost a bit nausiating.

I can see how people are undecided on this one. At certain points this smelled amazing on me, and at others "whew! Why do I smell like a bonfire of crazy magical wood?"

Definitly will keep the imp until I figure this out!

  20. This is much more lemony than the other sleep scents. And i guess lavander, but it blends deeply with the citrus and it smells weird on me. This is not nearly as sharp than the others, and a bit sweeter, more mellow perhaps.

As for sleep, I had some sort of dreams, can't recall them anymore though.. hmm... I prefer the sharper ones, they knock me out faster it seems.

  21. First on: nightime, in a field. Reminds me of a darker glasgow for some reason. Things you would smell in a field. Plus something more, something juicy! Here is the currant. Burtsing and juicy. Very red.

After a while the currant tones down, and I get a hint of orchid and incense. Still the meadow scent though, mingling with it.

This is very pleasant, but doesn't really make me go WOW like some other scents I've tried.

  22. I get fruity too, juicy and sweet. But not candy sweet, just a hint of berry sweey. And white flowers, and spring time, and petals falling from trees. I like this! If I were to choose a young, innocent scent it would be this one. It's not nearly as sweet as the other scents I'd group with this, nor as tart as say, the unicorn.

It fades away to just a tiny little hint of flowers (and candles?) after an hour or two though. Nice spring scent, a bit too young for me maybe.
