  1. I also agree with this scent being gender-neutral. I freakin' love it. I wear it year-round and it's the HG I've received the most compliments on. For me it's very mint and eucalyptus and neroli. There are constant pumpkin whiffs that come through and mix nicely with the other scents I smell. Whenever I'm feeling down I spray my hair with this hair gloss and I start to feel better, it's a great pick-me-up! :)

  2. [No additional description given.]

    I'm a terrible first review, I'm sorry!

First I'd like to say I love the smell of dead leaves. This HG starts off as the sharp, crispy, crunchy Dead Leaves scent. After smelling it for awhile, the sweetness of the pomegranate comes through and smells lovely with the leaves. I'd safely say this is a fantastic Autumnal scent for your hair, and would be a great choice for those who love Autumn scents but aren't a fan of foodie scents.

I said I was terrible right? I have no idea what Chypre is or what it smells like. But I like it in this hair gloss, so I guess that means I like it!

I'll be wearing this from now until New Years for sure.

  3. I'm not sure I get much of any pumpkin in this, but I love it anyways!

This is BAM spices and sugar to me and on me. By far the longest lasting scent I have ever worn. I think it smells like spice cakes, classmates think it smells like cinnabons, family thinks it smells like brown sugar with allspice.

I wish it had more of a pumpkin-buttery smell as others have noted, but as it stands it's a beautifully spicy seasonal scent. For me I only need a little bit on my wrists, no slathering here!

  4. I've already worn this scent multiple times this Autumnal season! It also reminds me of mulled cider that's made during this holiday season. For me it's a little more "christmasy" smelling than "Halloween" smelling, but it is none-the-less amazing. I get a lot of the ginger, clove, and cinnamon, as well as wine. It's not overly boozy, it's like a nice warm hug. Definitely reminiscent of a cold, holiday night with some close friends and mulled cider.

I'll also be placing this in a diffuser because my house needs to smell like this through New Years.

  5. When I saw this one in the weenies I had to blind-buy a bottle. With the sea air/salt air of Calico Jack & Mary Read I was sure this would be a winner. Boy is it!

I'm not sure if it's the musk or the ambergris but I get a nice clothy/linen scent from this perfume. It reminds me of line-dried clothing left out in ocean air, but not "beachy" air, that salty somber beach air when it's early morning and everything's covered in clouds and fog.

I never thought I'd like the beach/ocean scents as I'm not a big fan of beaches in-person, but Beth captures the essence so perfectly and I love them.

  6. 2010 Version:

Wanted to try this one out and bought a decant off the FB group. Arrived in great condition, and after six years it does still smell like toothpaste. I don't hate it, but I don't feel the need to smell like toothpaste all day.

  7. A sugared rainbow: strawberry, blood orange, lemon peel, lime, blueberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant.

Really nervous about being the first to review, but....this scent!

In the bottle it's a veritable explosion of skittles goodness (confirmed by husband who thinks a lot of BPAL is 'babypowder')

On the skin, I smell the blueberry, raspberry, lemon and lime. It's a sugary rainbowy skittles sweet fun-time scent. I want to cover my black heart in rainbows and butterflies and run around giving people candy. The lemon-lime gives it a soda-y kinda effervescence and tang. Smells like Sprite with raspberries and blueberries, totally a good thing in my opinion.

I have a sinking feeling it'll be eaten up by my skin, but I don't regret blind-buying this bottle.

  8. Ashinros - I'm going to have to keep an eye out for your swaps page. I think we have very different tastes! X-P

Rendezvous in the Bath - Polyester Spider Web (starts out funky but really deserved more love). Possibly Envy if you like lavender. It's got the mint and herbal cleaness. A similar vibe?

Snow at Noon reminds me of Embalming Fluid and The First Time I Saw a Ghost

Titania - other cool, sweet fruity florals would be Kitsune Tsuki, Juliet, 51 and La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

    Hope that helps!

I believe we do! And I have handfuls of imps that aren't my type of scent that sound like things you would like!

  9. I have tried a bunch of BPALs now from when I first posted here, so let's see what new recommendations I get based on what I like now! :D

    The Instruction Manual

    Rendezvous at the Bath

    The Snow at Noon

    Moons of Jupiter: Metis

    Titania

Also my husband likes BPAL and here are the ones he likes most:

Thunder Moon (he super loves this one)

    Villain

    Arkham

    Calico Jack

    Hexennacht

  10. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but I wasn't sure where to put it!

I just wanted to see if other people have been having problems with the caps splitting and breaking off inside their imps recently?

I've attended the January and February lunacy events in LA and both times I received frimps from the events, the imp caps split from their tops or break off completely.

I'm worried that they got a bad batch of caps, or is this a thing that is normal?

  11. Purchased from the Lab:

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Holy butts.

So this is like, all the things I like. Ask my fiance, my best friend, my family. Everyone knows that this has the notes I like. I like citrus and florals and smelling like a bottle of Pine-Sol (Embalming Fluid ALL the way!)

But something sinister happened with this scent. I opened it fresh from the lab and gave a good wiff a few times like I normally do and WHA-BAM! Instant headache, I was honestly thinking it was going to induce a migraine. I figured it was off to the swaps with it. But my story does not end there folks, oh no.

I ended up giving it to my best friend who thinks it smells lovely which is great, quite honestly because to me the scent shoots up my nostrils like double-drills trying to mine for liquid gold which is my brain. She was insistent that if I -tried- it on my skin, I may like it more. So I tried, and it was only slightly less assaulting, but still trying to liquefy my dome-piece.

Thankfully she enjoys it because I sadly cannot. All the notes I like try to murder me in this perfume.

  12. My mom doesn't think that BPAL can smell good she always tells me I smell like baby powder or Bengay. She wears Celine Dion by Celine Dion the notes are:

    Red Berry

    Violet

    Lilly of the Valley

    Yellow Rose

    Tiare

    Orange Blossom

Jasmine (ironically she's allergic to Jasmine, I'm not sure if she knows this is in there)

    Blonde Woods

    Sandalwood

    Amber

    Musk

If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them! Thanks so much! :wub2:

  13. I have a personal spreadsheet of my inventory and wishlist. This was pretty fun to do!

Musk (mostly Musk, Red, White) - 15

    Trees (all sorts) - 13

    Teas (all types) - 8

    Rose (all types) - 8

    Vanilla - 8

    Lemon - 8

Sandalwood (mostly Red and White) - 7

    Honey - 6

    Mint - 5

    Carnation - 4

    Bergamot - 4

Opium, Ozone, Mandarin, Orange - 3

Kindof a surprise, but good to know! :D I kindof knew teas would be pretty high, but I had no idea there were so many trees in my favorites 0w 0

  14.

Oh why not, I'll give it a go! :3

I'm 26 and I've gone to school for both environment art for video games and to be a pharmacy technician. I do neither for a living but I still enjoy keeping up to date on both fields. I'm oddly good at accounting, although I was never very good at math growing up. I like to crochet, draw, and be crafty. I drink loose-leaf tea, listen to fantasy & folk metal, watch an assortment of tv shows (Scream Queens, Face Off, Hellevator, Star Trek, Master Chef for variety's sake)

I'm INTJ very much so. I love animals so much. I have a cat named Beebuls, and had a dog named Dexter. My favorite animal is the Snow Leopard. I have an odd fascination with snow. The solitary, desolate, endlessness of winter I love and it comforts me in a way.

I love Halloween. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat, but I love dressing up and the whole feel of Halloween in comparison to other holidays.

I'm not very romantic, definitely not sexual. I believe I'm asexual actually. I'm also gender-neutral, although I do go by female pronouns. My clothing style is comfortable. So usually an over-sized top and leggings.

I'm 5'10 and 215lbs. I'm curvy a bit but my height makes it all work out. Short red hair, almost boyish in cut. Blue-grey stormy eyes.

People who know me well know that I'm a huge nerd/geek/dork. I like to learn about new things and throw myself into them and get very excited about those things. I play board games and D&D. I like video games. I have a very dark sense of humor. I wear nail polish a lot. I love candy and sweets. I have a very low tolerance for stupid people. I think stupidity should be painful.

I have a few medical conditions, so I'm not a huge fan of having to go and deal with doctors, but I do when I need to.

    I can't think of anything else. I hope I gave enough information! *w *

Hooray for another asexual on the boards (I'm asexual too, or at least I have never seen a reason not to think so) :D

    Anyway, on to recommendations!

The Lab makes many wonderful snow scents that you need to try if you love snow. There are three distinct kinds of snow notes that I have been able to identify; there is a sweet vanilla-y snow note, which can be found in Snow White. Then there's a minty snow note, like in Snow-Flakes. And finally an ozoney snow note that can be found in the general catalog scents Kumari Kandam and The Old Goblin. They are of course easier to find than the LE's I listed, but at least Snow White is available right now in the Yule collection.

If you love Halloween, you might want to try out Jack, which is the general catalog pumpkin scent! Other than that, for me the quintessential Halloween scent is Samhain, which comes out every year in October.

Since you like roleplaying games, you might want to check out any of the blends from the RPG line - you can even layer them to create the character you're playing, for example Lawful Good Elf Fighter :D

Yay Asexuals! I'm always like "But...I could be having cake. Or doing anything else."

I'm currently waiting to hear back about getting a decant of Snow White! :D And I'll look into the GC's you mentioned with snowy scents! I got Jack as a frimp one order and omg it was so fantastic! I started wearing it waaaaay before Halloween did not even care! :P

I have an imp of Druid, I need to go back and re-test it on my skin. I have a few others of the RPG line on my wishlist, but I should take a second go-through and see if any others pop out at me!

  16. Wet: Smells citrusy and hints of flowers

Dry: All sorts of flowers. Definitely carnations

Light and feminine, reminds me of pale flowers bathed in moonlight. Serene. I can't stop smelling my wrist. Definitely an instant favorite.

  17. Wet: Smells like alcohol, I think rum. And vanilla. It's super sharp and I'm not liking it.

Dry: It gets woody, smells like crackling firewood. Smells a lot nicer than wet.

It's a nice smell, it draws up nice imagery in my mind, but not a scent I would wear very often. It's a bit too strong for my skin. Maybe it would smell better on my fiance.
