  1. As the winter encroaches, the time comes to embark on the last Great Hunts of the year. The deer are fattened, the fields have been reaped, and the light of the full moon illuminates the wild creatures that have come out to glean. This scent is redolent of night skies, falling leaves, and the high-pitched tension and release associated with the Hunt. A blend of traditional lunar oils touched with dry leaves, autumn bonfires, warm mulled wine, feral, animalistic notes and the chill of approaching winter.

Am I the first to review this one? Yay! I just got the scent this afternoon and put it on as soon as I got it. I have to say, I really like this scent. It truly captures the season accurately. If I had worn this scent last night it would have been too perfect!

In the bottle: Smells like grapes. Is that the wine? I'm feeling kind of hesitant about this!

Wet: Smells vaguely floral, it's so well blended I couldn't tell you what flowers. Very soft, it's not an obvious floral. I think there's musk in there, but it's hard to tell. Musk usually appears on me a little later.

Initial dry: There's a sort of freshness about this scent, the chill of appraoching autumn. It's really gorgeous. In addition, I'm getting hints of spice and woodsmoke. The smoke is there, but really close to the skin, it's just fantastic.

Dry: THe wine is coming out more, sort of displacing the initial florals, the scent is darker, if you will. Almost like the sun was setting during the initial part of the scent and now it's set. THe fires are lit and wine is being drunk around the fire. Every now and then there's a gust of cool autumn wind.

This scent is absolutely fantastic. I'm in love! It's so perfect for right now. :P

  2. Lovlely lovely stuff! On first sniff this smelt to my nose just like lemon. Nothing special.

On my skin though it's really started develop. The green tea has really come out.

Like malanna said, the scent is pretty equally divided between verbena which is a very herbal lemon and the tea. The honeysuckle really sweetend it up but it's not predominate and on my skin the cranks up the florals that's saying something!

Not strong, this perfume is very light and clean. Really gorgeous.

  3. I wish this scent liked me more so I could like it more!

First sniff: Smells like and herbal/floral. Like lavender but...not. This has potential.

Wet: Hmm, going floral (what a surprise). I'm getting hints of rose, hints of fruit but mostly sweet

Dry: THis is not working on me. I now smell sweet but there's this cloying quality to it that is just making feel...bleh. Too bad, because I wanted to like this scent!

  4. First sniff: Hmm, fruity floral. smells nice.

Wet: Strike the smells nice. This smells cute. I know I know, but I swear I smell cute! I can totally picture a cute furry little mouse. THere's fruit and floral, the peony I think. Smells yum

Initial dry: The peony is coming out more and smelling REALLY nice. I like!

Dry: This is reminding me of Empyreal Mist for some reason, but with a lot more staying power. REally nice, a floral with fruitiness in the background and what imagine to be tea. This ones a keeper!

  5. This scent is all grass. I lurve the smell of grass, really and truly. Smells so fresh.

Wet: Grassy. Yum. I love grass and it loves me! The flowers are starting to peak out.

Initial dry: The flowers are rearing their heads. They are strong because my skin just loves to amplify the hell out of florals so thank goodness they are light florals! The aquatic note is coming out too.

Dry: The grass is gone, it's just flowers now. I don't mind the aquatic note so much. And love peonies too, which smell good on me. I'll be keeping this imp.

  6. I just had to try this one, based on my fascination with Japanese culture and my overwhelming desire to visit (some day!) Tokyo.

In the vial: THis smelled really fresh and clean. I think it's the bamboo?

Wet: The bamboo hits my skin and just blooms. It's a really lovely fresh scent. I'm liking this.

Initial dry: Hmm, we're going floral. This was not exactly what I was hoping for with this perfume.

Dry: Just smells like...flowers. Sigh. They don't smell bad, but where did the lovely complexityt that was initally there go? I wish my skin didn't amplify the floral notes so. Stupid chemistry. That said, I'll probably use up the imp I have, but I don't that it'd bea repurchase for me, unless I fall madly in love with the flowers.

  7. This was a very odd scent on me. In the bottle I smelled buttered stale popcorn and then when I put it on that faded but then I started to smell like...manure or something really awful. :P However that was gone swiftly and then the flowers came out. They're qute strong on me initially then they sort of calm down and blend with some spices. I think this oil will take a few more tries to see how I feel abou it!

  8. Chaos Theory XXVII

I was really looking forward to this - the idea was just so intriguing. I really really like the blend and it's too bad that I can't ever get it again. So I will cherich my 5ml until it is all gone!

In the bottle: My nose can never decide what it's smelling. I get citrus but with an herbal edge. Juniper maybe?

On: I get the juniper, heavily. Not a bad thing, I like the crispness of the scent, The heavy juniper fades though and soft florals start peaking through. They're very soft and lovely. My skin amplifies the hell out of florals often making them cloying and sweet, but that's not happening here. The scent dries down to a lovely clean smelling floral with herbal undertones. Just fantastic!

  9. Wow, I'm kind of wondering if I tried the same scent! I was really hoping that this would wear well on me, but I can't say that it's my favorite.

In the vial: Cherries, sweet fruit.

On: Very sweet cherry-ish, Then the floral, I'm assuming that's orris comes into play

Dry: This stayed a very strong floral on me, which was kind of disappointing, because I was hoping that the sandalwood would come out more. I think my skin just amps up florals way too much.

  10. Tihs was a freebie in my order, and I'm really glad I got to try it. I have some negative connatation with roses, but this one? was REALLY nice

When I opened the imp, I smelled roses. On my skin? Roses. It dried to a distinct rose scent, but as others have said, there's something that makes it wet. I really liked this, it was what rose perfumes SHOULD smell like.

  11. I wore this the other day, and while it was alright I don't think that my skin chemistry and it get along. As soon as I put it on it screamed FLORAL and just stayed that way for a long time. It eventually toned down to something that smelled (to me, anyway) like Bounce. I'm thinking that lilies and I are incompatible...

  12. Echoing the sentiments of the other reviewers, this scent does come across as cool and severe. Very spare, but I think I like it that way. It's turning soapy on me, but I really like the scent of soap. Like so much so that I was looking for a soap scent. This just might be it, actually.

  13. Tried Tintagel last night, and it was absolutely lovely! I got this for my brother because he's a King Arthur fanatic but I just might keep it for me!

In the bottle: I smell a spicy sweetness

On me: Warm comforting spice. As others have mentioned a very autumnal scent, fantastic for the weather we've been having of late. The nights are cool and even the days have cooled off. This scent eventually fades to a floral sort of (at least, it was floral when I woke up). I'll have to try this during the day when I can sniff my wrist more. I think this one's a keeper!

  14. I wore this today and I'm not sure it was such a good idea - I have a cold and it's wreaking havoc woth my sense of smell.

When I opened the imp I smelled something so familiar. I', not even sure what it was, but I KNEW that scent. I think it's the ozone. It usually gives me headaches too. Not a good start.

I applied it and the ozone I had been smelling faded (YES!). I was left with a very cool smelling perfume. Very aqautic and very cool. I like the cool part, I'm not so sure about the aqautic part. As time went on I the aquatic notes evaporated and the soft florals underneath came out more.

Ultimately I'm unsure about this perfume. I'll retry it when the cold goes away. It just seems like it's not *me*, whatever that means. To ponder...

Incidently, a friend of mine, when I presented her my wrist, said I smelled like Angel. Weird. I hate Angel, and I certainly didn't have that vibe from this perfume!

  15. This is a beautiful scent. I got this as a freesbie in my order and am I ever glad that Beth included it! From the vial I got flroal spiciness and when I put it on the myrrh really comes out on me. I get a warm slightly spicy scent with a background of florals. This is gorgeous stuff!

  16. I ordered this oil because (attn silly reason ahead) a good friend of mine was in a Midsummer Night's Dream and I loved the costume of Titania. Hey, we all have our reasons, right? :P

Anyway, I tried it this morning and I didn't know what to expect exactly. In the vial I smelled fruit right away. On my skin it initially smelled like a juicy peach. After a while the scent turned more floral, but the fruit was still very much at the forefront. It's a very light scent, all light fruits and florals. It lasted on me til about lunch. I can smell faint tracs of it on my skin if I bring my wrist to my nose, but other than that it disappeared.

I like this oil but I don't LOVE it. I'll keep the imp and might order more at one point to have it on hand when I feel fruity.

  17. I had high hopes for this scent and I was NOT disappointed.

In the bottle: The top of the imp came off surprisingly easily, I almost spilled this all over the place. Almost. Thank goodness for small miracles. In the bottle this smelled like a fresh floral. I really got the apple blossom.

Wet: Wow! This smelled very green, the red clover started to come out on my wrist.

Drying: The clover recedes in the background and the apple blossom peaks out. It's a lovely floral with a green edge.

Dry: The orchid takes over. It's a very haunting scent on me and it made me feel very confident. Lovely lovely stuff. It's sorta how I thought Unseelie might be. A bottle might be in order...

  18. I've been wanting to try Envy for a while. I loved the idea and I loved the ingredients and I love green scents

In the bottle: Smelled, as many have said, like mint predominantly, with herbs in the background rounfing it out.

Wet: Smelled minty for a bit, with a floral edge hinting at the back

Drydown: The scent started to blend even more and I was left with a fresh green herbal scent.

Dry: Faintly floral, but very herbal. Really nice. :P

This blend didn't last very long on me - I was surprised, perfume usually really lingers on my skin. I will therefore, have to buy a bottle to slather on! Great job Beth, it smells fantastic!

  19. I was really excited when I saw this scent on the update and when I received my order it was one of the first imps I tried

In the bottle: Smelled mostly lavender, with citrus and herbs in the background

Wet: Again lavender, and an orange note emerges to sweeten the scent. Alas, it is gone almost as quickly as it came.

Drydown: I'm getting mostly lavender, with some herbs in the background. It reminds me of a cleaner of some sort. I'm not sure I like it on me.

Dry: Still lavender. Not bad but not what I was looking for. I'll still use the imp, who knows, my opinion is subject to change!

  20. I just put this one on, but WOW! What a gorgeous scent! Very soft, very quiet and understated. I get a floral with a hint of fruity sweetness. Just beautiful.

In the bottle: I smell floral and fruit. Very gentle, well blended. The florals are white florals, and the fruit is crisp. Smells promising.

Wet: Mmm, lovely! Still soft (my skin just generally amplifies scents, they linger forever, and they stay strong enough to give me a headache). Initially quite floral on me.

Drydown: Still floral, some fruit has crept in to juice up the scent a bit. I detect a hint of greenery?

Dry: A soft green floral. So pretty!

This scent was a freebie in my order and I'm so glad Beth added it. There were no notes listed, so I was a bit apprehensive, but this is gorgeous. I'll buy a bottle of this!

  21. I had such high hopes for this one!

From the bottle: Hmm, smells like a high-end, really expensive perfume. Really floral though. No hint of greenery or herbs...

Wet: Wow, this is floral and is going very powdery...

Drydown: Still very powdery. I get an occasional whiff of of darker scents mixing with the powder, but all in all just powder.

Dry: All I can smell is baby powder. Now baby powder isn't the worst thing I've ever smelled, but it's certainly not what I was aiming for.

:P This one didn't turn out the way I was expecting, far too powdery for my tastes. My skin doesn't seem to like florals much, even though I do. I'll give it another shot but if not, I'll probably swap it.

  22. When I first smelled this scent in the imp I got lemony mint. It stayed that way on my skin for like 2 minutes and then the floral, I'm imagining it's sweet pea, although I'm not very accomplished in picking out notes, started to peak out. At first it was tempered with lavender and now and then I'd get hints of lemon in the background of the scent. When I arrived at work that phase was mostly gone as well, leaving me with a VERY sweet smelling floral. I don't know if it's the cumulative fatigue of my week but by 9 I had a headache. I'll try this again when I get more sleep to see if that's what caused it. I want to like it, I am a Gemini after all, but not at the expense of a raging headache.

  23. I'm wearing this right now! It's a really lovely fragrance although it initially surprised me.

In the bottle it smelled floral but darkly so. A lot more grown up than I had pictured it

When I put it on it was really sweet, too sweet for my tastes. I could smell flowers but with a sweet fruity note.

It dried down though into a slightly powdery floral. Really lovely. I didn't put much on so it was fairly soft, but it lasted all day on me. But then most scents linger on skin.

All in all lovely stuff. I don't know that I'll buy a bigger bottle right away (I have so many new scents to try) but I'll certainly keep it in mind.

  24. ... Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name.

    Ooh, my first review!

I've just tried Dana O'Shee. What a lovely scent. On me it smells much the same as it does in my imp. Pretty much straight sweet almonds, as many have said very much like LUSH's Snowcake. I'm really liking this oil.
