  1. This is just lovely!

In the imp, it smelled fruity and floral, which are not a few of my favorite things, but it was delicate enough that I tried it anyway. It stays that way for a bit, but and then takes on a dry smell that reminds me a lot of Hamadryad. I have a hard time pucking out specific notes, but I have to imagine its the champaca, clove, tonka and moss that come out to play.

Whatever it is, I absolutely love it, and am kicking myself for not buying a bottle.

  2. I LOVE this scent. It smells the same on me as it does in the bottle, and isn't much of a morpher. Its definitely herbal, but underneath it all, I get moss and damp dirt and grass and flowers, and salty air. It manages to, at the same time, make me think of being by the ocean at night and in the woods early in the morning. It makes me feel peaceful.

    More, please.

  3. In the bottle, I get wet pine and woodsmoke, and underneath that, a sweet floral. On my skin, its got a fairly strong throw, and at first, its all pine, all the time. That fades over the first hour or so and it mellows into a sweet, heavy musk cut with herby flowers. It lasts all day (8+ hours), but by the end, its almost all musk.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this. I want to love it, and when its in the bottle, I do. On my skin, though, its a little too sweet and musky for my tastes.

  4. I had a similar experience to this as Ahania. My initial sniff made me dubious, and wearing it for awhile didn't make me feel any better.

In the bottle, I can find the strong chocolate that Beth was talking about, but the fruit cuts through it pretty sharply and feels tropical. Something smalls like sour milk. Maybe its the honey, because its the same thing that put me off of this year's Milk Moon. Beyond that, its very complex and my nose isn't nearly refined enough to pick out most of the notes.

After an hour or so on my skin, the sour milk goes away but something still smells acrid. The chocolate picks back up, but its much softer than in the bottle. Hubby says he smells ginger along with it, but I don't get that at all.

After about three hours, the scent has faded almost completely, but by the time it got to its last legs, it was the soft, fruity-sweet chocolate that I had hoped for.

  5. This is one of those scents where I sniff the oil and I read the reviews and I wear the oil and I read the reviews, and I almost convince myself that I must have something totally different than what everyone else has.

I don't get mint. I don't get cinnamon. I don't get any of the other ick smells that people have mentioned.

Hamadryad is a scent that reminds me that my nose isn't nearly as refined as I'd like it to be, since I have a very hard time picking out specific notes. Its a warm scent, to me, and earthy, but with a soft floral undertone. Not heady florals, like roses, but more like the scent you get when you walk past a flower shop in the summer...sort of the idea of flowers, rather than ZOMG FLOWERS! Somewhere under the flowers is the scent of wood and moss, and the whole thing reminds me of a forest glen.

It smells the same in the bottle as it does on my skin, its not a morpher, and at the end of the day, I can still catch traces of it if I try. Definately one of my favorites!

  6. In the bottle, this smelled just like green tea with a little lemon--not enough to make it seem sharp, but just enough to add a little zing. It seemed soft and light and wonderful for a warm day.

On me, the lemon instantly overpowered the green tea, and now, a few hours later, the whole thing has morphed into something that smells exactly like Ivory soap. Sadness. :P
