  1. I am so happy to have acquired a bottle of the beautiful Aradia. She totally smells like Antikythera mechanism & Revenant Rhythms love child as others have mentioned. The patch and oak stand out above all...kind of reminds me of BPTP's luper, Loveswing.

As above and so below are still my favorites of the haute macabre scents but Aradia will get lots of love (as sparingly as possible hehe)

  2. Vanilla-infused cardamom and sleek black patchouli.

On me this is a very dark patchouli lightly misted with the vanilla cardamom. With it being in my hair for a while the vanilla cardamom is a bit more obvious and I'm in love. The patch in this almost reminds me of revenant rhythms but slightly darker, however it isn't sweet...nowhere as sweet as RR but it is def. in the same family. If you love patch you will love this.

  3. This is super light and fluffy. The marshmallow to me is a melted sticky marshmallow. I almost get a slight caramel sweetness but not quite. The vanilla is creamy and delicious. I'm not getting the tea but the cocoa butter is obviously there. This is beautiful and I can't wait until I get my Stekkjarstaur in so I can pair them :)

  4. Strawberry cream, white musk, and orris root.

Ooh it appears I'm first :)

I tried Enveloped in silk yesterday but I've been dealing with a cold so I wasn't sure if my nose was being 100% honest with me. I can say however, that this HG smelled absolutely amazing regardless!

It reminds me of strawberry ice cream and bizarrely... I get a slight whiff of dr.pepper lip smackers. This is a good thing though. I wonder if dr. pepper is made with orris root?!

Upon waking up this morning I realized that my nose was finally working and my first instinct was to sniff my hair. AHHHH it smells so good. Sexy, creamy strawberry musk. It smells exactly like its description. Simple.

I'm concerned that I'm gonna have to get several more bottles of this. :wub3:

  5. In the vial this reminds me of my beloved Dorian mixed with Lavender. When I put it on my wrists the patch and snake oil come out to play, and brings to mind my absolute favorite scent from Lush, KARMA! (patchouli, citrus, lavender etc)

I had to track down a bottle of this immediately. Lilith Victoria is beautiful.

  6. Hmm... this is an interesting scent.

I get fruit jelly, potporri and BREAD! Also, something a little weird in the background. Might be the mincemeat... it isn't a bad weird though.

This isn't really something that I see myself wearing on a day to day basis but it doesn't require washing off.

  7. The first thing that pops out to me with this spray is the myrrh followed by the leaves and smoke. It is a beautiful scent and I've been using it all winter. Its also pretty strong and long lasting. It is my first and only atmo so I can't really compare the longevity to any other scent.

Are there any requirements/guidelines for running a swap for the first time? I keep having these fun ideas for swaps but don't really know how to go about starting.

Swaps I've been thinking about (do let me know if any of these have already been done before):

Bath swap- Anything involving baths and showers...bombs, salts, scrubs, gels, loofahs, sponges, oils etc. & things to enjoy while taking a bath: Books, candles, mix-tapes, face masks.

Paper doll round robin- This is something I've really been wanting to try out here since I know we have lots of artsy/crafty people among us. Basically I would choose one paper doll either drawn by myself or selected from my collection. Then she would get sent around in a sturdy envelope and each participant would have to create 1 outfit for her and send it along. Most people just draw/color/paint it but I've seen some situations where people go all out with their creativity and use sequins/glitter etc. I would have to figure out whether or not the participants keep the outfit they created or whether I should receive all originals and create high quality scans to send out to everyone then send back the originals? Any suggestions would be great!

Stomping grounds swap- We have people from all over the place on this forum and I think it would be cool to pair up people and they would have to send each-other things that represent their stomping grounds. I'm in the Dallas,TX area which is basically a crazy awesome melting pot of so many cultures so we end up with lots of amazing locally made foods, beer, handmade items, stuff from Mexico, stuff from Korea. I love it here.

I would want to start one of these in March maybe?

Circular swaps are pretty easy to run. I'd start with that. If you want to steal portions of one of my directions sets and modify for you purposes go ahead.

    Thank you so much!!!

  9.

Someone did a virtual tourist swap, which sounds a lot like your stomping grounds, earlier this year which was a lot of fun. No concept is proprietary, so you are always welcome to do your own spin on it!

That was me! I had been thinking about doing a virtual spring break this spring (I think last time was summer vacation), but if someone else wants to do it, I would be more than happy to just participate. (And offer my help as mentor/organizer/whatever if it's desired. I've done a few on here and a few more on other forums. It's getting to the point where it feels weird when I'm *not* running one and participating in at least one other one at the same time now!)

    Hiya!

Since I've never done one before, I think it would be great if I just helped out with one first. If you plan on doing the virtual spring break I would be down with being kind of a swap "intern". :D

  11. This is sooooo yummy. I love, love, love this.

As soon as it goes on its a delicious yellow cake with halloween spices. I get the custard too.

After a while a dried flower scent peeks out from the background and makes this a little less foodie but still absolutely beautiful.

    :wub3:

  12. I'm not sure if its just me but I totally thought this was a pumpkin/apple scent. I smell apples and I don't know why?! Maybe its the orange?

Its a bit tart and nutty.

Anywhoo I love this so much and if I can ever get my hands on a bottle I will be really happy :)

  13. This smells like what I imagine the color grey smelling like. Clean, soft and a bit sharp.

This is a bit comforting though, reminds me of something that I've smelled before. Maybe clean sheets from my grandmas linen closet?

All in all I won't be reaching for this all too often but I like it enough that I don't ever wanna get rid of my decant :)

*Editing because I've been reaching for this one a lot this week and I'm loving it more and more! I think I need a bottle!

  14. Oh my gosh I love this!

Never tried the original but this lives up to all the hype of its predecessor.

In the bottle its very red smelling! Fruit!

But after I finally put it on my skin I realize how much it reminds me of BLOOD KISS. That delicious red vanilla scent.

And I love blood kiss and only have an imp. So this makes me really, really happy!

I don't get any patchouli like at all... but that's okay.

  15. Wet, this is really spicy and pumpkiny and it was hard for me to detect any trace of Dorian, but once dried it becomes an almost perfect mixture of pumpkiny tea goodness and I smell the delicious yummy vanilla/fougere. I can't wait till it starts getting cooler so I can actually wear this out.
