  1. Smells very similar to Calvin Klein Escape on me, which is not an insult. I have an unnatural love for Escape and if it weren't such an obvious and sort of date perfume, I'd probably still be wearing it every day. Very nice, and more complex and less strong than Escape.

  2. Forgive my short-ish review, I had to write up a bunch of reviews quickly as part of the Celestial swap circle...

Very in your face mint, there's something else in there, a spicey note, that I can't really identify. Very nice.

Sweet lemon, not too many other notes, although there's probably some sort of floral in here. Probably the dreaded lotus, which doesn't work for me. Pleasant, but nothing that special.

Beyond incensey, very very strong. This scared me and I disliked it so much in the imps that I was afraid to put it on...

That's it, my nose is broken. I got an ozoney almond out of this one, didn't work on me at all. Plus, makes me sneeze the second I smell it.

Interesting, I got the same impression shelldoo did - light fruit, no wood at all. I'd almost think my imp was mislabled but since everyone else in the celestials swap got the wood impression, I guess its just my sniffer...

Anyway, finally, a BPAL fruit that works on me. I have no clue what the smell of this is, but it smelled wonderful on me and got even better as it dried down.

Spice cookies without much sweetness; definite anise note. Very spicy, in a yummy way, without being cloyingly sweet. A great winter scent.

Very incensey, no sweetness at all. This was terrible with my skin chemistry (interesting, considering I'm a Scorpio and my understanding is its my ruling planet)

Dry, fiery incense notes, slightly ashy smelling. Cinnamon, maybe some dragon's blood? Not my normal sort of scent or something I'd wear on an every day basis, but very nice.

Amber and cinnamon with a drop of something fruity... maybe a vaguely carnation-like note? Very nice. I'd definitely try to find more of this. One of the only cinnamon blends that hasn't irritatated my skin.

Sweet floral, light, slightly aquatic, and very pleasant. However, to me it smells like the "base" for a lot of the lunacies - perhaps these are where the traditional lunar notes come from? On balance, while this was nice, there are a lot of other blends that are similar which I prefer.

My initial impression was WOW! Sweet but not cloying light floral with a hint of mint and light fruit. It's what I'd expect Pisces to have smelled like. But at the end, the mint comes out very strongly and the rest of the notes are kind of overwhelmed, and it's not as nice as it is while wet.

Sweet aquatic, has an initital very strong acetone note, also some light fruits/florals - apple blossom and pear? Once the acetone note completely disappears it is great scent, but given how hard it is to get your hands on the celestials, I wouldn't go out of my way to find some of this one.

Very strange in the bottle, once you put it on it totally morphs into something very nice. Has a baby oil note to it but also a very "clean" note. I liked it a lot.

  15. This is possibly the least helpful review ever. I have NO idea what Danube smells like - sort of a tart juicy citrus, but I couldn't say which citrus fruit. There's some floral in there, but I couldn't tell you which. There's some watery smell, but not really.

In a case of the sum being more than its parts, however, I absolutely ADORE Danube and it smells ridiculously good on me. It's perfect for summer and just plain yummy.

  16. I didn't think I liked this one, but decided to test it again before placing my order today. On me, this smells like Cherry kool-aid that you made too strong, all syrupy and dried up on your hands when you've got some little kid tugging at you to hurry up and finish making it. No amber at all (and my skin loves amber) no carnation, nothing just cherry berry tutti frutti sort of smell. I have no idea of the age of my imp or where I got it from, but it's old enough that it was originally tarted, so maybe that is affecting the smell? But all I get is achingly sweet berry cherry (my skin does amplify almost the most minute of a cherry like smell into something HORRIBLE so it may well be my sking - no dragon's blood, strawberry, raspberry or anything like that for me)

Ah well, saves me some money at least!

  17. One of the very few fruity bpal's that works on me. Smells like glaceed tangerines. I know those don't actually exist, but if they did, this is what they'd smell like. Very yummy, but not necessarily a smell I'd wear as a perfume - would be great as a soap (it is quite similar to villainess's indiscreet, actually) or in a body lotion (where it's similar to skindazzles satsuma guava, though it is much less orangey than the SD scent). Very nice, very youthful, but a tad to sweet for me.

  18. I had such a different experience of this... I know the tower is a card of change, usually signifying something very difficult has happened and such, and I expected it to be strong, smoky, and unpleasant based on the card.

But I really really like it! It remind me a lot of wildfire - smells smoky but with something sweet underneath. In my mind it reminds me more of the legend of the phoenix than the tower card - something burning up and rising again. Although the tower is supposed to signify that things can only get better from there, so maybe its appropriate.

anyway, enough waxing philosophic. Sweetish smoke and florals, with a bit of a powdery smell. Lovely. Might be a big bottle for me. I have this paranoid delusion that Beth will decide to discontinue the tarot scents and I will feel compelled to buy them all at once, so I'm trying to get one I want an order to avoid having to shell out a huge amount of (hypothetical) money in the future.

  19. Oh fruity BPAL, why do you spurn me? I love fruit, I love BPAL, but fruity BPAL? Unless you're the King of Spades, you pretty much hate me.

Mi-Go, I had such high hopes for you. I bought two bottles, and was so happy to see my squishy brains and open up your deliciousness. But your fruity wonderfulness dissappears on my skin, and all I can smell is jaZZmine - annoyingly assertive jasmine, which is why I typed it like that. No amout of pineapple, pomegranate, pink pepper or peony can rescue you for me, nor can such abject alliteration.

I'm sure you'll make someone else very happy, but why for once can't it be me???

  20. I ordered a second bottle of this on pure instinct yesterday with the lunacy update, because I only got my first bottle of it today.

Heaven, heaven, heavean. Totally aquatic without too much ozone. Smells like being caught in a thunderstorm while sitting on the beach - ozone, water, salt, and not much else - maybe a bit of some dune flowers floating on the wind. Totally unisex without being overtly masculine. Not perfumey, but not so subtle you don't notice it.

Would make a fabulous addition to shampoo - actually, now that I think about it, it's quite like GothRosary's Seattle Rain, only more oceany and less rainy.

    Yum.

ETA: Macha is right - Kingsport doesn't really smell like being caught in a thunderstorm - it smells like it the air when a huge summer thunderstorm has just passed, and it's sort of grey out with the sun breaking through a few clouds, and you go back on the beach. The sand is wet, it's suddenly 10 degrees colder, and everything smells clean and salty all at once.

But I'm an East Coaster, so our beaches might smell a bit different!
