    Vixen

In the bottle: very sharp, it has that "drugstore perfume" feel to it, but fortunately that's the kind of thing that usually fades on me...which this does, phew. Now, patchouli...it's the dominant note for me, and it tends to go through some really weird gross phases on me as it dries, which it did in Mme Moriarty and it's doing again in this. Oh...great. I have to give patchouli half an hour, though, and then it mellows down...get a little bit of spicy ginger, though I wish there was more of that. I get about zero orange blossom, maybe a vague sweet smell but that's it. It still feels like a very "orange" scent (the color, not the fruit). Very earthy-spicy, which is kind of nice, I just wish that either it was stronger or it had more orange blossom. I like my spiciness to be balanced out with sweetness, and more orange blossom would do it.

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

No one's suggested Shango? It's got all kinds of fruit in there, it smells like a tropical smoothie. I it.

    Tiger Lily

I wasn't sure I'd like lilies, since strong florals usually tend to disagree with me...but I really like this. The lilies are very fresh and green at first, almost fruity, with more of a polleny, airy feel as they dry. As a whole the scent is very sweet. And of course, I'm a sucker for honey, so that makes the scent ten times better for me. The honey lasts for aaaages on me, even after the lily fades. It's a pretty good GC duplicate for Et Lux Fuit, on me anyway...would be just about a perfect match with a little bit of vanilla (Tiger Lily + Antique Lace = Et Lux Fuit?).

    Snake Oil

Snake Oil does distinctly different things for me depending on the time of the month. *cough* So I feel like I should review both of the ways it smells. During my period, I tend to amp resinous and incensey scents. I don't know why, I just do. 'S weird. So when I put Snake Oil on at this time, I smelled like a headshop. I also got the dreaded baby powder note that other reviewers have bemoaned, only because of the super incenseyness, it was slightly BURNT baby powder. However, now that I'm about halfway through my cycle, Snake Oil is amazing! It's still resinous, but the vanilla is more dominant, and it's a lovely natural vanilla, not fake or overly sweet. It still has a sort of incense/patchouli base, which makes it really sexy, but no headshops or baby powder to be found. It's a perfect spicy+sweet scent...and it's this good now, less than a month after arriving from the labs, so I can't wait to see what this'll be like when it ages.

    Anathema

I couldn't figure out what this smelled like when I first gave it a sniff, until I looked at the lab description and realized I had never smelled any BPAL containing opium, honeysuckle, OR vetiver before. ^^; So that explains that. I could definitely pick out the honeysuckle, which is a scent I love in real life, and I figure that, going by other reviews I've read, the earthy thing I'm smelling in this is vetiver. I have a feeling that's going to be a winning note for me, and it pairs well with the honeysuckle - the earthy + sweet is a nice combination. And oddly, during the early stages, something in this smelled like fruit on me? Only wet at the very beginning, though...then it settled into earthy-flowery goodness. I think I like this one okay...it doesn't knock my socks off, but it's kinda sexy, and it's definitely not a swap pile candidate.

    Cupid Complaining to Venus

I _knew_ I would like this when I heard honey and apple blossom...those two notes tend to love me. The honey is very natural-smelling, not phony at all, and you can almost smell the honeycomb itself, and the beeswax. As it dries, the peach comes out, and a bit of a woody base...the sandalwood and thyme keep it from being too cloying. It finishes as beautiful honeyed fruits...actually, what this reminds me of? Flavored honeys. When I lived in Arizona, all the touristy souvenir shops sold little tubes of honey that had different flavors to it, and you can just eat them like candy. So this is like fruit-flavored honey. And it's AMAZING!
