  1. Wet: Booze, booze, booze. One night (very long ago) I got extremely drunk off of Black Russians. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had consumed 9 of them. Perversion at this stage is what was coming out of my pores.

After an hour: I agree with Nachtwulf above - Yankee Candle's Fall Lineup. Intensely sweet.

As the day wears on, the sickening-sweetness is calming down, rounding out and getting creamier. It deepens and I start to notice the leather and a slight smokiness.

I keep getting whiffs of something crazy-sexy and I think it's probably me.

I wish Perversion smelled like this right from the get-go, because I don't know if I can get past that first phase.

It doesn't seem to have a lot of throw, it stayed pretty close to my skin, but the staying power was 10+ hours.

If you're looking for a well-behaved leather and aren't afraid of sweetness, definitely try this one.

  2. I really do like Snake Oil very much. My first impression of it was that a high-quality vanilla bean and Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo had a baby.

Snake Oil has a slight medicinal undertone underneath the vanilla spice that strongly resembles Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo for me. (which I love the smell of, by the way)

Wet, the medicinal note is sharp but after wearing for an hour or two, it rounds out and becomes sweeter. Definitely not foody-sweet, more like sunkissed skin-sweet.

Sexy... like kissing someone's who's been drinking bourbon.

Color-wise it reminds me of a tiger's eye stone.

My imp is probably 3 months old now, but it has mellowed even in that short time.

  3. I'm such a noob, I wish I could help out on this thread, but I'm clueless.

I would, however, take any recs anyone wants to offer, though :blush2:

I freaked out for Morocco and Lyonesse both. Those 2 make me drool. Big bottles are already ordered.

I also like - Dragon's Milk, Neutral and Scherezade.

I'm wondering, would I like Haloes at all? (from what I understand, that one can only be found at retail locations? Not sure how I could make that happen.. There was one on the swap board that I noticed today but when I went back for it, it was gone. You snooze, you lose!)

I generally like creamy, spicy, warm, I guess. I never thought I was a vanilla fan, but Morocco and Lyonesse really changed my mind.

I have imps on the way of Dorian and Perversion, but obviously haven't smelled those yet.

I'm also thinking about possibly, The Lion?

    And/or maybe Liz?

  4. I love Wolf's Heart, I'll definitely be getting a big bottle.

It's slightly woods-y, but not pine-y.... like a sweet wood, Rosewood maybe.

I get the Dragon's Blood, which seems to go slightly cherry on me at first but does calm down.

I get a clean, almost medicinal note but it's tempered and not sharp.

It's two wolves, a male and a female, running through the forest together, exhilarated, eyes and teeth flashing, hearts pounding, not afraid.

  5. The lovely Lab threw this one in as a freebie for me. I really, really like this. I totally agree with Vega's review above, pale blue-white, jasmine, and to my nose, I get a touch of lilac. Neutral smells very similar to Ralph Lauren's Blue, which I wore for years until it started to give me hives for some reason. Clean, soft skin musk, floral, I get no fruit notes that others describe.

I put it in my room diffuser also and it's amazing as a room scent also.

It's my old fave, Ralph Lauren Blue, reincarnated!

  6. I'm really sad about Dragon's Milk. I loved it in the imp, but my skin amps something in it to straight baby powder/play doh.

I get no vanilla, no cherry, absolutely no spice at all. It's a soft, but quite heady, urinal cake.

It has lasted amazingly on my skin too, has serious staying-power. I've had it on for about 10 hours now, however it hasn't morphed into anything gorgeous.

Maybe I'll try it again at a different time of the month.

Edit - lesson learned: Don't review scents during Shark Week.

I get the Cherry Slushie now, (dominant) maybe a little spicy. I think if you like foodie scents but don't want to smell full-on bakery you should check this one out.
