  1. This scent brings a overwhelming sense of comfort to me and I could not be happier with it.

From the moment I smelled it just from the bottle I almost started crying because the emotions were that intense.

It conjures up memories of my great granny's farm. Most specifically the hay she had laying outside the barn door and by the pond. This is the scent of that hay and the little bit of rugged musk that is barely in the background when I inhale deep enough. I do get the lemon in it but I barely even notice it because the hay and burnt grassy note is too dominant and I love that part of it. When I wear it the hay just becomes stronger and deeper and it really does make me think of Autumn but more so it makes me think of the woman that I loved and still love with all of my heart and miss terribly. This scent makes me feel like she is right beside me through life and guiding me.

  2. This was one of my very first bottles and when I first got it I was not impressed at all. It smelled like complete root beer on my skin and that smell makes me physically ill and incredibly nauseous :ugh: and I scrubbed it off immediately because that wet stage was too much to handle.

So I talked to a friend of mine about it and she was really intrigued so I sent it off to her to see if it would get more love. It got way more affection from her than it did from me and she loved/loves it so much that she has 3 or 4 back up bottles now. She kept raving and raving about how INCREDIBLE it was and how it just smelt so sexy and beautiful and warm on her and my little mind went haywire and I figured "Hey, why not try it again" so I did........ I purchased myself another bottle a few months back and let it sit for a few weeks before I got it out to test it and MY GOODNESS IS IT JUST FLAWLESS. Deep, dark, sexy, smoldering and warm all at the same time and no root beer smell on me at all...... funny how things can change on you. I am just swooning over this and very glad I decided to give it a second chance and I will be getting a second bottle in the future.

  3. Hello everyone!

I received my 6 imps a few days ago and if I wasn't hooked before (which I most definitely was) I'm hooked now for life!!! Seeing as I am such a newbie to everything BPAL, I would absolutely love it if someone could recommend some scents for me based on my personality.

I am 19 years old, a Pisces (born on the Aquarian/Pisces cusp), blue eyes, bisexual, I love to act, read, paint, play the piano - if it's creative, then I love to dabble in it! I'm attending University at the moment for a Bachelor of Arts and the courses I'm doing at the moment are Drama, English, History, and Film, Media & Cultural Studies. Even though I know it sounds trite and naive, my dream is to be an Actress. Ever since I was little I have had a passion for the Occult and have had some of the 'things' that come with the gift of Second Sight. For one example, when I was about one and a half I told my Mother that in my past life I was a male farmer from Scotland with 5 children, "those horses with the very large feet" and a wife!

Some words that people in my life have used to describe me are "ethereal" - "dramatic" - "complex" - "intense"

I've always loved Gothic Horror (my 3 favourite gothic horror literary texts being Wuthering Heights, Dracula & Jane Eyre), the Renaissance, Pirates etc. A few people have actually told me that my face/features are like out of a Botticelli painting - not that I'm saying I look like Venus, or anything as vain as that haha.

Two big role models of mine are Florence Welch (from Florence and the Machine) and Helena Bonham Carter. Game of Thrones-wise, I love me some Margaery Tyrell!

If anyone could help a baby BPALer find her scent, it would be you guys! I would be so grateful for any suggestions as it is slightly overwhelming looking at all the gorgeous descriptions for the vast array of scents!

Thank you so much! (And I promise once I'm more knowledgable on what the perfumes smell like, I'll be recommending so many to all of you!)

    xx

    Some more GC suggestions (:

Anne Bonny- Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood and frankincense.

Bess- Rosemary, orange flower, grape spirit, five rose variants, lemon peel and mint.

Mata Hari- five rose with soft jasmine, vanilla, fig, Tonka bean, mahogany, spiced with a drop of coffee bean.

Morgause- a bouquet of five night blooming flowers deepened by dusky violet, purple fruits and the barest breath of medieval incense.

Ouija- oak, rosewood, teak, wispy blue lilac, tea rose, dried white rose and ethereal osmanthus.

  4. I just really had to get this one because O Negative is my blood type

It does indeed smell red both in the bottle and on my skin but I only get the metallic part in the bottle and it disappears almost immediately once on my skin. There is a little bit of fruit there being balanced out by some musk and dare I say, sweat? That sounds really strange but I do get a almost sweet sweat smell to this and it's just melding in perfectly with my own chemistry in a way like it was made for me. It smells really romantic with a dash of macabre.................absolutely love this

  5. The two that jump right out at me the most are Obatala because it is nice if you want a sweet almost fleshy coconut and Brown Jenkin if you want something like a deep roasted coconut husk and it is divine in the cooler months.

A friend of mine really loves Black Pearl but she barely detects coconut and she claims it smells like sexy showered skin after 5 hours. My Mom also enjoys Black Pearl a lot and she gets more coconut and hazelnut and she describes it as smelling like a dessert.

  6. I really never thought I would like much less love this scent as much as I do.

I love bay rum, spanish moss and anything that smells like dirt but I am not the biggest fan of magnolia for many reasons.

THAT IS UNTIL I DISCOVERED THIS BEAUTIFUL BLEND!! :wub3:

In the bottle it is just crisp greenery with a little herbal tinge

Wet on the skin it turns into the same crisp greenery but with less herbal now and sharp moss and the magnolia is barely noticeable

Dry on the skin it completely takes me by storm......... the magnolia comes out a little bit but it isn't giving me a headache or making me think of bad memories like it usually did. Strangely I am comforted by it and it has a tiny warm feeling with it and it smells so Southern which I am and it just brings a immediate smile to my face.

This just gets more and more lovely with each time that I wear it and it is my favorite scent right now. It may not be completely perfect for the upcoming Autumn season but I am still gonna wear it because it's that comforting and lovely to me. Beth really did it right with this one A+

  7. My god this is the most GORGEOUS Tobacco I have ever had the pleasure of smelling :love!:

It smells like the most deep, chewy, rich and decadent pipe tobacco in the world with a sexy caramel undertone that only gets richer and smokier the more it sits on my skin. I do get the slight burnt sugar quality that others have mentioned but it isn't overwhelming or anything and it just rounds out the whole scent. I am sooooooo glad I got two bottles of it when it came out and I will most definitely cry when I run out because it is that amazing!!!!

  8. Spider is just one of those scents that I absolutely cannot live without!!! I am hopelessly inlove with it :wub3:

It does have that soapy, aftershave quality but that's one of the main reasons why I adore it.

It's undeniably masculine and I don't care because it's so fresh and clean that it just makes you feel happy, at least it does for me.

It also has this underlining sensual thing that comes out the more it sits on my skin, must be the vetiver or the ginger...... ughhhhh PERFECTION
