    Villain

Moo, I'm underwhelmed. It's basically Dorian, minus all the charm. Much less long lasting and much less throw than Dorian, too, but would probably work better for anyone seeking a 100% masculine scent, whereas Dorian is more pleasantly gender-blurred to me. That said, Villain mixes *awesomely* with Bram Stoker, both of them seem a little lacking alone, but together they are AMAZING! Turns into a scent that makes me think of Heathcliff - upperclass and rather arrogant, grumpy and antisocial, but sexy despite all that. And somehow, when you mix them they give *great* throw, which neither has alone on me - alchemic wizardry!

    The Forest Reverie

This smells *exactly* like Blood Popsicle! ...except a hell of a lot nicer, richer and more complex Really compulsively huffable, not something I would wear out, but rates highly in the 'interesting smells to wear while reading/writing for my own sniffing pleasure' stakes... Once dry, there's a *teeny* bit of green woodlands, the main body of it is rich and warm and gently fruity (the grape, maybe?), and there's just enough of the opium smoke to darken it down and make it interesting. It really does smell like a bunch of poets getting stoned in a sunlit forest, and I think it's awesome Not quite a bottle, but I'll be grabbing more imps on my next order...

    Shub-Niggurath

I was frimped this today, and it's one of the best things in my whole order! I would never have ordered it from the description but goddamn, it's amazing To me, it smells exactly like 3 Witches - admittedly my memory of that is hazy since it was so long ago, but yup...lots in common. Ginger isn't something I really go for (unless it's gingerBREAD) - I didn't get on with Count Dracula as the ginger was too raw and tickly, but this ginger...on me is really more like dry cinnamon with added pepperiness, just like 3 Witches was. Very warm, and dry, and beautiful. I may well need a bottle

    Bram Stoker

This is very strange, but so addictive - I've reapplied it twice and I can't stop huffing the back of my hand! In the bottle there's the tiniest hint of Dracul, which is pleasing, but on it's very...rainy, and British. Not cultured Victorian London English, like Dorian and London with their elegant refined sweet tea notes, this is much more rough around the edges, soggy and countrysidey! I honestly have no idea what to liken it to, note-wise, it just makes me think of dismal, squelchy countrywise walks (I guess that's the hay!) and dripping rain-coats, and pipe smoke, and creaky decrepit old houses. It smells like a very anti-social, eccentric and brooding sort of chap, and it's rather wonderfully bizarre. I probably wouldn't wear it *out*, just because it's more of a mature-smelling masculine scent than I like, but it's so evocative and strange that I'll definitely grab some more imps. Wonderful sulky, DON'T TALK TO ME I'M WRITING, rainy day smell!

    Gingerbread Snake

I rediscovered a bottle of this recently My Gingerbread Poppet was running low, so I went for this as my next gingerbready bottle available. It's definitely more complex than Poppet - wet, it's very sharp, strong raw ginger, which settles down to a warmer, softer gingerbread with a bit of sexy snake oil underneath, BUT, I'm mostly reviewing this today because I DISCOVERED A THING! ...got a bottle of Suck It that wasn't doing much for me - it dies on my skin in seconds, and alone in a locket it's just strong cherries, and not complex enough. So, I tried a blend of Gingerbread Snake and Suck It in my locket, and holy mother of fuck it's good! The cherries were too strong initially, but after about 20 minutes they died down, as did the rawness of the ginger. Now it's absolutely gorgeous, warm and rich and rounded, like cherry pie and warm gingerbread coming out of the oven simultaneously. I am in love, and so glad that both bottles are basically full!

    Hand of Glory

I wasn't sold on this when I first got it from the lab, but I rediscovered it a couple of weeks back, don't know if it's aged *beautifully* or whether my nose was just an idiot first time around, because...damn, this is my favourite BPAL in the world right now! In the bottle it's beeswax and leather, slightly sharp, but when it dries down it becomes amazing - beeswax and candle-smoke with a hint of sweetness, perfect gender-neutral balance and I think it's pure sex. BPAL smoke scents usually do nothing for me, and anything involving a 'burning' description I've found is quite sharp and icky, but this - this is bloody gorgeous, and it lasts for hours. I really, really hope it comes back with the next Carnaval, my bottle's almost full, happily, but I need to *hoard* this shit!!

    Dorian

I absolutely bloody love this stuff! On me, it fades to very slightly TKO-tinged Earl Grey tea with a hint of vanilla, and the throw is amazing. It's the most compulsively sniffable thing I've tried in a while, and I love how it's masculine but not aggressively so - definitely the clean, elegant scent of a privately debauched Victorian gentleman, fits its inspiration perfectly, and I think it's shot directly into my top 5 favourite BPALs ever, ever, ever - I will be wearing this A LOT! ...as such, I went back to BPAL and bought a whole bottle less than 24 hours after receiving my imp - that's how much I love it!

    Blood Popsicle

I should have known than 'frozen' was an ill-boding description, but I'd seen a review on another site describing it as 'honey, amber and salt', and I thought that sounded amazing, so I gave it a try. In the bottle, it smells exactly like Blood, but with a really irritating cold, tickly addition. That tickly cold notes never goes away once dry, it always smells very cold, and I don't like that at all. The scent, disassociated from it's pretty damn cool inspiration, to me was just very, very generic, like a bar of not particularly pleasant soap. I think I get the 'salt', but it's cold and tickly, not like the nice salt in Jolly Roger/Black Pearl, and as for honey or amber, nope, not happening for me. Definitely not a keeper!
