  1. got this simply because the tp was out of a component of another bath oil and I was too impatient to wait. I get sweet, fresh rosewood lightened by green tea and sweetened with carmelized sugar (this note is not overpowering at all). I really love this and am so happy the order worked out this way!! It is light and softly sweet, not too strong or heachache inducing at all.

  2. delicate vanilla black tea...very nice for hot weather...makes me feel a little thirsty since it smells exactly like my favorite brand of vanilla black tea. not too sweet (I was worried about this!) so it is perfect. I applied after a showering this morning and I can still smell it lightly after 4.5 hours.

  3. Decant from ladymeag. Wet: Apple with a bit of woodsy ash. Dry: just Apple...just like All Hallows' Apple, but I prefer All Hallows' Apple more so no bottle for me. However, I amp Apple to the max, so....someone else might get more woods than me.

Edit: sniffed again, an above reviewer is right. This is more of a green apple scent as opposed to All Hallows' Apple, which is more of a red shiny apple scent.

  4. Wet: sweet coffee with strong champaca....but I'm also getting a licorice, root beer quality. This turned me off at first, despite the fact that I love the root beer, anise notes just because I wasn't expecting it. Dry: champaca sweetened with root beer..??? I don't want to say I don't like it, because I would if it were described that way, but it is definitely not the description on my skin. However, I will mentally change the notes and will like it as a champaca and sasparilla blend instead...I know that's weird, just a mental thing I have to do to overcome disappointment :( To me, this is drinking a strong root beer in a head shop.

  5. Wet: resiney sweetness....something that smells like the mahogany note in other blends. Dry: the dark woodiness lightens up to a fruity smell that is kept in check. I have several CNY blends (metal tiger, earth rat, fire pig, etc) and this is a darker, richer take on the same fruity notes. The deepness from the woody resiney notes makes the fruitiness more sophisticated in my opinion. I also think this would be great for cooler weather. Thank you for the decant lady meag and I now have a bottle as well.

Throw is good and I had it on for 5 hours before it started to fade.

  6. Decant from ladymeag. Wet:ho wood, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, ebony (I think???). Dry: patchouli amped with ho wood and vetiver. No apricot....bummer, I like the lab's apricot note a lot. It's nice, but I don't need a bottle. Strong throw and lasted about 6 hours. Seems more fitting for cold weather than spring.

  7. decant from ladymeag. wet:champaca strong with a little floral from magnolia and a bit of sweetness from the honey. very nice at this stage. dry: champaca...champaca...champaca. I apparently amp champaca...my coworkers asked who was wearing patchouli  I like this a lot, but am unsure if I need a whole bottle or not...I will mull it over...It lasts about 4 hours on me and throw is obviously strong.

  8. Decant from ladymeag!! Wet: lemoney matcha tea, sake, sweetened with amber. Dry: Amber incense with sandalwood (soft) and the red bean sweetness of yokan!! I was skeptical that the yokan smell would actually be there, but it is in the dry down...I love this. In fact, I just bought a bottle!! Throw is medium, just enough!

By the way, I also layered this with treasure ship coming in and it smells so amazing!!

  9. Got this as an imp from the lab. Wet: sassafras and vanilla with a hint of balsam. Reminds me strongly of a weaker stimulating sassafras Strengthener. Dry: the sassafras is still strong, but it is deepened and rounded with cedar, the vanilla gives it a bit of creamy sweetness that makes this an amazing scent. If you love sassafras or root beer in general, get this pronto!! Throw is pretty nice, not too strong but sits on the skin. Staying power is ok, 4 hours or so, but I don't mind reapplying. I must get a bottle of this.

  10. 2014 version. Wet: sweeter, deeper snake oil. Dry: spicy snake oil with a honeyed overtone. I like this a lot, but it is strong. One application lasted me over 8 hours!. This probably would be better for night out or date night, not for work! However, I still love it!!

  11. Wet: currant, vanilla cake with a hint of ginger. Dry: sandalwood, marshmallow, and a tiny bit of cherry (not fake smelling!). I like this, but the staying power is poor....it only lasted 2 hours. I will put this in a rollerball so I can reapply on the go. Overall, wonderful scent, but plan to reapply often. :huh?:

  12. 2014 version: wet: slightly sour incense. dry: frankincense and myrrh, olive blossom grounds it and something makes it a little spicy (cypress??) overall, i like it and i think it will age well and layer with other scents well. throw is good and it's still going strong after 3 hours.

  13. i was sooooo disappointed with this bc I love ginger, but I think one of the red musks makes it really bad for me. wet: wet dirty dog musk... :rantrave: dry: slightly sweeter dirty dog musk with the hint of something going sour and rancid in the background. thank god I didn't put this on and actually go out bc it is horrible on me! I'm not getting any of the sweeter notes or the ginger, just dirty unwashed sour BO! now I have to figure out what to do with the rest of this...

  14. Wet: TKO lite!! Dry: lavender with soft vanilla and as it dries further the cotton blossom emerges. I used to hate cotton blossom (blame bath and body works... ;) ), but I love the BPAL version. There is a dryer sheet scent to this, but I happen to really like the dryer sheet/dryer exhaust scent especially in cold weather so I actually love this!! So nice for bedtime or chill time...

  15. Wet: dark and herbally..mandrake, vetiver, ginseng??? Dry: herbally with a little resin. I personally like it, but not sure if I need a bottle. It reminds me of chinese apothecaries my parents would take me to as a kid so it's more of a nostalgic scent for me.
