  1. so, after my very first swipe of this, i thought, oh GAWD this is terrible! floral, sharp, almost aquatic. and then syrup. :D and then i thought, what is this "dry" business everyone keeps mentioning?! wtf ever, it's floral and sticky and gross.

um, and then i let it sit for um...i dunno, a few months...and tried it the other day.

    RAWR! :P so good!!!

i get the dry! the white! the dusty! the only thing is that it's a bit over-the-top dusty, and it goes powdery-sweet on me, but that's also not a complaint. just different.

also, i can't pick out any of the notes. very weird. oh well! makes no difference, i still love it. woohoo!

  2. holy shiznit, this is teh good stuff.

what can i say that hasn't been said already...at least not too many times...

it's a weird scent, that's for sure! but weird in a good, unpredictable way. definitely get that odd, but somehow very lovable root beer essence goin on. is that, what, anise/fennel? and i usually hate, hate, hate cinnamon, but mmm, yeah, this has cinnamon in it that i do like. wth? :D

so let's say that i wasn't so thrilled with it at first, but the imp really won me over, and fast. and i really can't say why. shrug.

in any case...i'll be getting a bottle soon. :P

oh, and efficacy? haven't gotten lucky over it yet, but the mang has actually said that this one smells good, and that's honestly a first for him. he just doesn't like smellies of any kind very much...unless it's pure sandalwood essential oil. so that's something! heh.

  3. A sultry, exotic scent that inspires devious plotting and clandestine affairs. It is a scent painted in artifice, veiled in deceit, and slithering with whispered secrets. Black palm, with cocoa, fig and shadowy wooded notes.

you know, i really wanted to love this one. but all the things i love i can't find, no matter how much i sniff. no woods. no cocoa. it didn't even smell dark or heavy or anything like evil to me. and the smoke? old ashtray.

    :D :P :D

i am so so sad about this! heartbroken, really. but i tried, i really did. it's just that all i can think of is potpourri in an old smokey motel room. SIGH. :)

    eta site desc.

  4. in the imp: dirt.

    wet: vanilla dirt! heehee.

drydown, initial: vanilla dirt, mint, vetiver, and...is that a lonely little patch of berries growing up in there?! love it! :D

drydown, much later: all of the above, but the sharpness of the berry minty vetiver flavor mellowed and softened out quite a bit. there's a floaty layer of incense smoke wafting over everything now...and it's a bit powdery, tho not offensively so.

oh wait, this is a mushroom? hrm. :D whatever, those sticky, sharp little mint berries are crazy good, mang. :P

  5. ohhhh, typhon! ohhhh, drooooolage.

in da bottle: cold, sharp, angry, woodsy.

wet: all that, with a resin-y stickiness rising up...vetiver, vetiver, vetiver!

dry: spicy-warm, sticky, resinous, woodsy, smoky, spicy, incense-y. delicious!!!

so much vetiver. i really can't get enough of it - i'm totally hyperventilating from sniffing my wrists so much! me wants to take a baff in eet... :P

    eta:

months afterwards, the patchouli is really prominent. still love it tho!

  6. oooh, vixen...

wet: spicy and sharp, tangy, quick vapor.

dry: warms up fast! hot, spicy patchouli. deep, dark, smooth vanilla. mischievous orange blossom. and a quick snap of ginger.

honestly, i didn't think i would like this one...but when i opened up the imp, she knocked me down and threw me in the corner, and i just couldn't say no. :P

she does fade rather quickly on me, however...i'll be going thru my bottle a ml a minute...
