  1. O CT CCXLII:

This first one smells very flowery and that breaks my heart a little. (I'm not a floral fan.) I don't wear florals and can only identify a few floral notes easily and this isn't any of those. Probably a complex blend of notes I'm not familiar with. Possibly some jasmine in there, but I'm not certain. I can only barely pick out the O in the background.

I don't think I can keep this one, which makes me sad. It's not my style at all.

    O CT CCXIX:

    in bottle:

Smells like something fresh and clean in the bottle. A little sharp, Green and pleasant. Maybe aloe or something sort of like a nice cucumber/melon shampoo. Reminds me of something like Green Phoenix, but I like this better.

    on skin:

The scent softens a good deal on the skin, but my impression remains about the same. I don't smell O at all in this. I'm hoping that aspect strengthens a bit over time.

This one's a keeper. Will be lovely summer scent...in the same general category as scents like 51, Green Phoenix and That!. Surprised that I don't smell the base scent in these as much as I was expecting. Interesting.

  2. Dorian CT CCLXXXIII: (i think?)

    in bottle:

Smells like Mad Hatter! Interesting! Must be pennyroyal or peppermint or something? I think I can also detect some lavender. Don't smell any Dorian in the bottle, but this one makes me happy.

on skin: still smells like Mad Hatter, which is nice because I've been wanting a bottle of that anyway. A warm pepperminty scent. After it's dried down a little bit, the lemony tea scent starts peeking out from behind the Hatter. Not strong, but it's there.

Nice. Of the 3 CT bottles I ordered, this one is probably the one that suits me best.

  3. There's just not much to say about this one other than omg chocolate. It's pure chocolate heaven. It's like baking brownies or chocolate cakes. It's exactly like that smell in Hershey's Chocolate World. (If you've been there!) Chocolate love.

I have a bottle of this. Don't wear it very often, but I consider it a favorite and I'll always need to have a bottle on hand. Yum yum yum.

  4. Huh! I could have sworn that I received an imp of this at some point, rejected it and got rid of it. That I didn't like it. But I received two free imps of this scent in the past week or so and decided that I was supposed to give it another chance. I don't remember it being this nice!

I have a bottle of Bengal and a couple bottles of O. I kind of see this scent, Chimera, as a mid-point between those two. Very cinnamon, but with a hint of powdery sweetness. I guess there's no amber in the blend, but that's how it smells to me. O with cinnamon.

I don't think I'll need a bottle, but I like this quite a bit and I'll be holding onto my imps. See how they grow on me. :P

  5. This is really nice. It reminds me of 51 alot, but it's not the same. I definitely agree that there's an aloe-like element to it. Beautiful and fresh and green. Fruity but green fruity. And not soapy on my skin the way that Green Phoenix was.

I love it. It's getting to be winter now, so I'll probably put this in my box and ignore it for a while. But I expect I might wear it every single day once summer comes. :P

  6. I haven't tried any vintage of Beaver Moon yet, but oh wow. This scent makes me so happy. (And not just because I got to draw a robot brain. Though it might be a factor.)

Smells like strawberry cupcakes! Or strawberry shortcake. Something warm and delicious and cakey and covered with strawberry! This is already a pretty serious favorite of mine and it just arrived today. I want to have a bath in it. I'm in love.

  7. On my skin:

After drying down, I felt it was very much like other "burnt" scents like Brimstone and Djinn. But softer and more complex.

    On my husband's skin:

It smells ALOT like Iago on him! With a touch of the charred note in Death of Autumn. I definitely agree that I smell vetiver. I'll update if my impression changes significantly.

It's very nice. It's one that I'd prefer to smell on a man than to wear myself, but I like it.

  8. I've tested this a couple times and the results are consistent.

I can't make out the notes in this. It's strange. I know it's black tea, honey and wasabi, but I can't recognize any of those elements. It starts out light and very fresh smelling and then it dries down to...something else? I'd agree that it smells somewhat green and soapy. This one's a mystery to me. I wish I could describe it better. :P

It's nice, but not for me. I will see if the husband likes it!

  9. I need more wear to be sure, but I think I'm going to love this scent.

It's an almost seamless blend of wood, tobacco and vanilla on my skin. Smoky, but soft and creamy at the same time. Very nice.

It's not masculine or feminine really. I'd say this blend falls in between.

Lovely. And it does feel very steampunk. Or at least refined Victorian gentleman.

  10. It's my bottle of Hellfire that I have up for swap. I go back and forth between mentioning the difference and not mentioning it. I'll go back to mentioning it. :P

My husband loves Hellfire and we've sniffed many imps and a couple bottles of it. This one bottle is very different. It's so sweet, it's almost...grapey? Not smokey at all like we're used to. Though I'll have to sniff it again and see if it's aged any closer to the scent we know and love!

  11. When you're certain your bottle of perfume is an uncommon batch variation and you don't like it...Do you feel dishonest trying to swap or sell it?

It's sad for you because you spent money on something and now you're stuck with something you won't use. But it also sucks for someone you give the item to. If they're expecting the usual scent.

What do other folks do when this happens?

  12. Wow! First, let me say I love this and it's totally a keeper! But it had to dry down before I knew for sure! The wet stage totally scared me!

At first, there was something kind of sharp in there. In the bottle, it had a note that smelled very much like Mr. Nancy or Sugar Cookie. And on the skin, it really did smell like Vanilla Coke or something! At first, I was so sad! Oh no! Soda!

But then it dried down and all my dreams came true! It's the smokey toasted vanilla note that I love. I think it's similar to what you can find in Tombstone, but don't quote me on that. Warm vanilla with saffron swirled through and a smooth creamy finish. I love it. ::Sniff:: Mmmmm!

  13. If I was going to make my Milk Moon update order all over again, I might have gotten a bottle of Bloody Mary instead of the Dummy. (For my own tastes.) You know what, though? It's still a success! Though it's not for me, it smells really wonderful and sexy on my husband. This one is great on men. Really really yummy on men.

Smells very foody in the bottle. Once on the skin, though, it goes to mostly wood. It's a strong wood scent with a desserty and sugary edge. Yes. Desserty and sugary wood describes it best. I'm sure this could work on the right woman, but it's definitely masculine to my nose.

    Excellent throw and long lasting.

In conclusion, I love it! I'm just mildly jealous that I bought my husband a bottle when I meant to get one for myself. :P

  14. On my skin, this oil is not particularly foody. It has a chocolate scent, but the chocolate is no stronger than the herbs and spices to my nose. When it dries down, it becomes this lovely smoky and sweet scent. It's like chocolate, clove and catnip incense? That's the best way I can think of to describe it.

It's lovely and much more exotic than I expected. A keeper!

ETA: I love it I love it I love it! I haven't tried the other versions, but I hope this one will come back. It's amazing!

ETA2: More than a year later, ha, I just wanted to add I love this scent. It's chocolate and clove. The ultimate Halloween scent. When I wear this, it evokes the Halloween season for me more than any of the official Halloweenies. <3

  15. The Bloody Mary label art makes me smile. It's alot like my own illustration of Bloody Mary, which was inspired by the legend of La Llorona...the bloody empty eyes and all that. (Cropped down version in my avatar.) It looks like Macha used similar inspiration for hers. Neat. :P

I love the Tokyo Stomp label. Thanks for posting it! Can't wait to get my bottle!
