Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

Maybe Othello and Rome? I'm not sure off the topof my head if these are the absolute least feminine, but they aren't feminine.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Is there anything in the BPAL catelouge similar to the now discontinued Heaven and Earth Essentials' Earth?

    Lilac!

I just dug through my 'to test' pile for Asphodel, and I agree with the above poster. It's got a hyacinth/lilac/gardenia thing going on.
  4. I'm looking for blends similar to Dragon's Reverie, which I have joyously just discovered.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Nothing is Fee, but I've found that Titania and Fire Pig have similar vibes. If you layered it with something vanilla-y it might be even closer.

    Shakespearian enabling

My instinct is actually pointing towards Lear. He's scarily hypermasculine (not at all compensating for being 5'7, oh no...), so anything even remotely girlie would be . No one else bother responding to my post, pls. I'm a girl who likes masculine scents, but when I tried Lear I had a woah too masculine moment, so you're instincts might be right about that one. For the original poster, i just put on some Titania it's a lovely complicated pear scent.

    Pink Grapefruit

Mmmmmmm yum. As others have said this is a very pithy wondrously tart rendition of grapefruit with an almost candish note. It's more reminiscent of a grapefruit sliced in half and covered in a liberally ladled tablespoon of sugar. Not that a mere tablespoon could ever cover up the stand-up-scream-out tart citrusy-ness of grapefruit. This SN has COTS (citrus oil throw syndrome) which is to say it doesn't have much at all, but the staying it has on my skin is really impressive considering how much I have to slather Boabhan Sith. Next time I wear it I'll actually keep track of the hours, but for the time being suffice to say it lasted longer than I expected. I grapefruit, and I'm so grateful I got my hands on this.

    Relaxing BPAL Scents

I might shy away from Tushnamatay and Snake Oil, they might be a bit heavy for the inexperienced sniffer.

    Relaxing BPAL Scents

Sudha Segara is a nice mellow warm scent. Speaking in terms of use as herbs, lavender is supposed to be calming and citrus is supposed to be uplifting. I've got some lavender/lemon bubble bath that works wonders, so you might check to see if there's a BPAL with those compnents.

BPAL Patchouli - there's nothing else like it

Vixen and Greed are quite compelling, and Sin is the closest to straight up patchouli. I would be careful with Urd, if the grape goes bad you might scare her off. . Luperci is by far and away my favourite patchouli blend, so might break the LE rule for that one . Plus it's not that hard to find Luperci on the secondary market. Mme Moriarty is another good patchouli blend from the LE catelouge.

    Melon scents?

Fee is all sorts of love, and there isn't much like it. It you feel like hunting, Ingenue is a beautiful melon and grass combination, yum yum yum.

    Squirting Cucumber

This is one part cucumber, one part grass, plain and simple. It might end up being too simple for me, but it's definitely a good summer scent.

    Roux-Ga-Roux

I would contest the calls that this is a masculine blend, to me it’s an armful of fuzzy white florals with some spicy moss thrown in. Fuzzy is a weird adjective, not one I would think of using before smelling Roux-Ga-Roux in the same way I started understanding the label ‘soft’ after smelling Buck Moon. Come to think of it, Roux-Ga-Roux seems to fit into the Buck Moon and Wolf Moon ’07 scent family I’ve started collecting. I could probably use another bottle of this.

    The Ecstasy of Infatuation

I could cry! In about five minutes on my demon skin this scent goes from maraschino cherries and pink grapefruit (good) to champagne grapes and plumeria (bad). I can only sit here sniffing my wrists and wondering whether I was a puppy-killer in a past life. Cruel cruel world!

    Recommmendations for Green Scents

I really really love green scents. However, all the BPAL green scents seem to fall into four categories. They're either lemon balm herbal, sharp aquatic, sharp herbal, or evergreen. I want to try something different! Anything out there?

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

Habu reminds me of pineapple liquer in all the best ways.
  17. Niflheim is pretty dark, not so much sinister as gothic.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

2/5/7, Spellbound and Thantos sound interesting. I worry a little bit about Thantos because my skin loves roses and myrrh, and it might result in a duel to the death. Blends such as Ouija scare me a little bit because dried roses really aren't my thing. I shall have to read more reviews. Anyone have good rose-ridden experience with Persephone? I'll definitely try 2/5/7 first, but I do have some rarities in my stash with enough trade value to at least nab me a decant of Red Rose. Hex and Buck Moon and Fee and such.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

I’m looking for blends where it’s instantly recognizable that _is_ rose, but they needn’t be rose-centric blends. For example, I really like Rome, which has rose peaking out from between some spicy greenness and creamy chamomile. And I’m so tackling Faith and dragging her home, meddlesome sister and all. Specifically I’m looking for… Rose with spices Rose with green But I'm up for anything that doesn't involve tobacco. Any suggestions?

Looking for BPAL that resembles a Body Shop scent

If you like The Body Shop's Woody Sandalwood, you'll like BPAL ______?
  21. Strangler Fig nearly killed me, I washed and washed but I was never CLEAN. Luperci and Scherezade have a lot of throw. And, ya know, actually smell good. I'm looking at you Strangler Fig, very disapprovingly.

Nag Champa scent in a BPAL blend?

Nag Champa scent in a BPAL blend?

In the headshop vein, I’d really like to find a way to smell like newly purchased hippy clothes. When the linen still smells of the wood crate it was shipped in and the sandalwood sculptures and incense it shared space with. At least that’s what clothing purchased at my local headshop smells like for a couple of weeks. Is there anything in BPAL catalogue that could replicate that smell in a more permanent way?
  24. I was frimped an imp of Dracul, and I really like it, or at least mostly like it. It's the tobacco that's causing me problem. It's not overpowering the blend so much as it's slinking maliciously through the blend’s background, adding an unpleasant twinge to each sniff. So is there anything out there in BPAL land with a similar wood/orange peel or orange peel/musk/mint combination without the nasty tobacco? Or even something with the same feel.

    Black Hellebore

To me this smelled like dry crumbling earth and, oddly enough, peonies. Lots of peonies. This is a very dark scent and it's very floral. If you like peonies, you'll probably like it. I, however, do not. *Runs away from the imp*
