  1. when i first got this oil as a frimp, i studied it before opening it. the first words out of my mouth were something like 'what the shit, it's GREEN'. i've never seen a green oil before. 'IS IT POISON? HAS IT EXPIRED?' i hesitantly test it.

    IT SMELL GOOD. in the bottle it's spicy green stuff. i guess that's the uh, wood spice eh? lol. it's murky. every time i apply it i get some sort of different vibe. it's definitely something a man would wear...at least on me. i wish more of the spice came out. i get...OMG, NO patchouli from this. and i AMP patchouli. the dark musk acts weird. i am going to layer this with the lion, or something similar. see if the spice comes out. it's really pretty, just needs a little something. :P

    thank you beth :D i wouldn't have ordered it.

    eta: oh and i really like my title 'hyacinth unicorn-farts'

  2. HOLY CRAP I LOVE THIS SCENT!

    i just got it yesterday for my birthday (nice shipping bpal, only 2 days after my bday!)

    in the bottle it's jasmine, a little opium.

    skin: HOLY CRAP it smells like someone in the den has jasmine on. i can't detect patchouli. it just smells like a very very sweet jasmine-y opium. apparently, the dog loves it. she came over here when i opened the bottle. i need to get another somehow...because i would love to burn this.

    i applied it earlier and it lasted awhile on my wrist, i slept for about 7 hrs and it was still there, but it had died down to magnolia i think, it was creamy.

  3. bpal violet turns green on me, though others have said it has on them too over here. might be the violet beth uses.

    white moon is VERY green on me because of the violet, though it's LE. i avoid violet now cuz its not a pretty green scent. ;_;

    also, it's not exactly 'green', but i died for beauty turns sort of...dark brown-green? also, nocnista, definitely. these are both 'dirt' scents.

  4. thought i'd ask for a little help...i haven't tried any of the blends because well, i wear a bipap at night (it's for sleep apnea) and i can't really SMELL much as i sleep.

    my problem with sleeping is i can't get to sleep, but once i am asleep, i STAY asleep....it's like i want to take a sleep aid but that just makes me sleep more.

    any ideas?

  5. i tried an advanced search for the notes you described. didn't find anything that really looked/smelled like what you said.

    i would look thru the ars draconis line (layering them would be a good idea maybe?). dragon's blood is usually very berry like. i would order a sample imp of dragon's blood to see how you like it, some people can't take it. dragon's heart (A scent pulsing with vitality, warmth and insurmountable strength: dragon's blood resin, red and black musks, a throb of fig and a sliver of black currant.) is very lovely, i think you would like it.

    other than that, you would probably have to layer. as i've never smelled hanae mori, i can't make any good rec for you...i think it would be best to layer. perhaps fallen (Cherubic white sandalwood and golden musk with a dark halo of amber, a breath of imperial florals, unbending woods, and the shadow cast by vetiver and violet.) with something berrish?

    (note that i am biased on the ars draconis line of bpal)

    ETA: oh crap, my net was being crappy and i saw that it listed the berry as STRAWberry, so dragon's blood wouldn't really be the best idea, it's more grape and blackberryish.

    Maenad (Orgiastic mayhem in the extreme: sweet strawberry and orange blossom distorted by carnation, black poppy and hibiscus.) might be a better idea to layer. it's very pretty and i didn't know it had poppy in it...o_O

  6. i don't know if red patchouli is 'sweeter' but it is less heady for me. doesn't give me asthma attacks, lol.

    The red is less aggressive on me, too - the black can easily turn into burnt BO on me, it's terribly inconsistent.

    omg i know.

    i don't think i'll ever order anything with black patchouli unless it has BOTH, but i've recieved frimps with the lab and i go 'ohh, nice patchouli' and i look it up and its black patchouli o_O'''

  7. ^ i did, and i have tamora, and it's WAY too fruity. i smell no fruit in the perfume.

    i really want more insight on like how some perfumes i don't have smell, that are amber based.

    eta: i saw sin has three notes i'm wanting, amber, sandalwood, and patchouli. but after my friend said it smells like SEX, ROUGH SEX, i think i'll have to hit up the reviews LOL

  8. I smelled my aunt wearing this scent today when I visited her, and she is being very kind to me like always during a tough time in my life. Since I know she likes this amber stuff (which I've smelled in the store before, and it didn't really smell like regular amber to me...it's muskier, a hint of patchouli in it) I wanted to try and get her a bpal scent, maybe make her some lotion or something or just give her an imp or two.

    Now, the scent that first comes to mind is of course, The Lion. A favorite of mine, and my staple amber scent.

    Others I am considering, since I have them:

    * Baghdad (in the lead so far)

    * Black Lotus

    * Black Rose

    * Machu Picchu (for a sweeter, more airy fragrance)

    Any insight on some others (especially Imp, Bastet, Iambe)? Here are the notes listed on the website.

    * Sophisticated fine fragrance inspired by your favorite Bath & Body Works scent

    * Fragrance Top Notes: Bergamot, Wild Berries, Succulent Plum

    * Fragrance Mid Notes: White Rose NP, Orange Flower NP, Lotus Petals, Iris NP

    * Fragrance Base Notes: Amber, Creamy Sandalwood, Vanilla, Patchouli, Praline, Musk Captive

  9. BLOOD COUNTESS!!!!

    Elizabeth Báthory, also called Erzsébet Báthory in Hungarian and Alžbeta Bátoriová-Nádašdy in Slovak, was the Bloody Lady of Hungary. In order to preserve her youth and loveliness, the brutal and incomparably savage countess captured, tortured and slaughtered innumerable young women and bathed in their blood as part of her beauty regimen. Ah, vanity. Corrupted black plum, smoky opium and crumbling dead roses covered by a deceptive veil of Hungarian lilac, white gardenia and wild berry.

    that's what immediately sprang to mind. :D but i'll do more digging. :P

    Salomé

    A scent that is both coquettish and sinister. Exotic and lush, brimming with grace and viciousness: almond with star jasmine, oakmoss, red sandalwood and Egyptian musk.
