    Euphrosyne

Wow! Wet - this is all lemongrass - which is strange since there is no mention of that anywhere. Nor can I figure out which of the notes is causing it since everything listed is pretty true to scent on me. Dry - this could be an Annick Goutal fragrance. And I am an Annick whore. This is like a combination of Grand Amour and Passion. The best of both of them put together. I am a bit surprised that the gardenia isn't stronger on my since I seem to amp it - maybe the jasmine (which, depending on what type it is can turn to poopy cloying yuck) is tempering it. I get a hint of vanilla and almost no rose at all. The rose part really confuses me because I can usually pick the rose out of anything but I am damn curious as to which particular type of rose this is since it is totally hidden behind the gardenia and jasmine. I would give this a 10+ on a scale but alas - it has almost no staying power. Maybe if I slathered it would work better. So taking that into consideration this would prob be an 8 I would still condsider a big bottle of this eventhough it dries down to invisibility because it is THAT lovely.

Yankee Candle - need I say more. Ugh.

    Casanova

definitely a male scent in the bottle, wet and dry this is men's antiperspirant. I couldn't get it off my arm fast enough and this sucker lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts...

    Machu Picchu

My kingdom to know what note it is that smells like vomit to me. Wet - this is vomit and lemon pledge furniture polish Dry - well at least the vomit smell goes away but all I am left with is very sharp lemon and lime zest. can't win 'em all!

    Incantation

Oh man - another one that I really like. I am so screwed. Wet - lily of the valley, fresh cut grass and new green leaves Dry - All I can say is this is lovely, simply lovely. It is a very "clear" almost transparent - in a visual sense. It has great staying power on my skin. LOVE IT!

    Black Cat

whoa!! wicked spearmint in the bottle and wet dry - this is sooo cool. Yup - it IS rose. Little tiny, just bloomed, en masse roses - with a vague hint of wintergreen for some reason. This is a great lighter rose blend. I would put it in the same strength catagory as Moon Rose (at least on my skin) This is a lovely scent that does not remind me of cats at all. Probably because if this was a cat it would be a sweet one that dotes on its owner - not like the two lunatics that bound around my house. A keeper!

    Penitence

well I think it is fairly safe to say the my chemistry abhors frankincense. wet - this is cypress for some reason. dry - I can feel the myrrh trying to elbow it's way to get some air but frankincense is being bonehead and hogging it all. I have gotten similar reactions with alot of the "ecclesiatic" scents. I adore the myrrh but whenever there is frankincense in the picture everything turns to generic bad/cheap incense. booooooooooo!

    Sri Lanka

Ok - who gave me the E-ticket for this scent rollercoaster. Mary mother of god I am so befuddled. Wet - a completely rain-soaked cardbord box filled with new green leaves next - arid, bloody dry as a bone scent next - cedar next - I swore I was on the river here in Bangkok. A melange of confusing elements (just like living in the city here. LOL) last - sweet cigar smoke. Ok - who spiked my coffee!!! Needless to say this one is not for me. Oh well...

    Nephilim

wet - holy mother of jesus where the hell are these menthol crystals coming from. I nearly fell over. dry - the menthol dissipates and is replaced with eucalyptus and the strongest sweet cherry. Now where in sam hell is cherry mentioned in the notes?!!!!! Then the cherry dies down and is replaced with faint pine and cypress and an unidentifed floral. Ok - all I can say is WTF!! I might actually like this one if the menthol crystal small wasn't the start - that kind of ruins it for me.

    House of Night

someone mentioned that this one was green with a hint of spice. I actually concur with this. There is nothing too memorable about this one. It's not bad but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

    Lust

Very cool... Wet - I get the musk, myrrh, light ylang ylang anf light pachouli (thank goodness for that) Dry - I am convinced that I am a sucker for myrrh. And again - thank goodness the pachouli stay WAY in the background. The whole pachouli thing reminds me too much of cheap indian/headshop places. The ylang ylang goes out much stronger when dry. This one has staying power and then some! This isn't a scent that I would normally wear - and there are others that bring out more "lust" for me but I might use it to mix things up a bit. It IS quite beautiful.

    Anne Bonny

Named in honor of the most notorious female pirate to ever set sail. Wicked, cruel, beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and dangerous: a true role model. A blend of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood, and frankincense. A million thanks to Juliana Williamson-Page for inspiration! On me, this one is almost identical to Cathedral. I didn't go back and test the two side by side but that was my first thought when this dried down. I didn't much care for either of the two in that I am not drawn to the heavy "incense-y" types. I love these spicy, heavier notes in conjunction with others - but not all in the same bottle.

    Ozymandias

cleaning fluid. I really don't know what to say about this other than I cannot get past that thought while this one is wet. I cannot pick out anything here. Dry - this one goes from cleaning fluid to "fresh" scented anti-perspirant. Very strange.

    The Red Queen

oh man this one just bums me out. Wet - this is soooo cherry and I absolutely loved it wet. Dry - the cherry just curls up and dies leaving the wood. Someone mentioned earlier that it smelled like sawdust. Holy crap - that's exactly what I am left with - a sweetish sawdust. WWWAAAHHHHHHHHH All that said - the wood scent left behind is quite nice - but to wear this one I would need a bit more than just wood.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

holy moly is this one sweet and sticky. Wet - a combo of tuberose and gardenia - and wet this one throws like no tomorrow. Dry - the florals calm down and I seem to get a bit of very soft amber I think. I am surprised that this doesn't stay strong on my because I seem to amp tuberose and I used to wear Fracas which is sooooo full of tuberose. But after about an hour this one just walks away leaving only its shadow... sad really.

    Cathedral

Not much to say about this one. Churchy. Not bad, not good. To me this one is very plain, so to speak. It really doesn't do anything for me one way or the other.

    Forbidden Fruit

dirty socks, peaches and lily of the valley Ok - none of those are notes listed in the description so WTF!!!! Dry - this baby is heavy! Please someone tell me that the dirty sock smell is not Lotus. I will weep. God, this one is so strange. It is like a combination of Shalimar, slightly dirty socks and jasmine. Ugh. I can't get this off my skin fast enough - it reminds me a a blue haired old lady.

    Golden Priapus

Juniper, Juniper and more Juniper. Wet - think maybe it smells like juniper? Hell yeah! A Christmas tree. Dry - I must amp juniper something insane because 95% of this one is the damn shrub. As it dries the pine comes out a bit as well as the vanilla and amber. Too bad the amber doesn't come off heavier because I think that would have saved this one for me. But alas - it's all holidays... Into the swap pile this goes

    Pannychis

OMG Laurel - you are dead right with the Celeb Deathmatch! Wet - I can smell everything at once here. It was difficult for my nose to stay focused each individual note. Dry - Although this is quite complex and quite floral, on the drydown this softened up on me and something warm (the cardemom I'm sure) popped up. I wouldn't consider this daily, but I think I will keep it around and try it again.

    Nanshe

How can I live in Thailand and not LOVE lemongrass... Wet - this is about 98% lemongrass with the slightest hint of lavender - which is good because I am not fond of lavender in body scents - actually I am not fond of lavender for most things. Dry - the lemongrass tones down, the lavender stays very quiet and there is an added bonus of something almost woody with a touch of what makes me think of orange juice that has been warmed up (huh?) All in all a great scent. I will have to try this before bed at some point but since I can fall asleep just about anywhere at any time I wouldn't need it to help me sleep - just assist in the dream aspect.

    Ultraviolet

this one was a shocker. Wet - soooooo peppermint. No floral at all. Nothing But dry this is a whole other story. When the mint finally decides to release its Kung-Fu grip the violet comes shining through. This is what I envision a "green" violet would smell like. It is violet alright, but with a green edge. I am not sure if a full bottle is in the cards for this one because I am a full on VIOLET sucker, but as a daily scent in this hellish humid climate I think this would work out well. hmmmmmmmm...
  22. buzz23666

    Wings of Azrael

wet - pale violet and juniper dry - very pale violet that is slightly wet. The juniper and cypress take the lead here and don't leave much room for the flower! Bah - I wanted to like this one.
  23. buzz23666

    Chimera

wet - vanilla bubble gum - if there is such a thing. Dry - this still stays vanilla but now with a slight hint of cinnamon. I think it's the myrrh that I am amping so bad here. My chemistry seems to turn myrrh into creme brulee. What's up with that. Oddly enough I find this to be almost a "comfort" scent and I am surprized that I like it as much as I do eventhough it is quite food-y. I will have to try it again.
  24. buzz23666

    Succubus

wet - this is a flowery orange peel with clean wet grass Dry - strangely this turns to honeysuckle and wet grass - go figure. I'll keep the imp and try this again later since the orange didn't completely put me off like it usually does.
  25. buzz23666

    Jezebel

wet - this is very sweet orange As this dries the orange turns to orange candy with a hint of spice Orange as a dominant note doesn't do it for me.
