    The Dodo

I had to run water over my hand immediately after applying this due to the itching. At that point it was an all-out cassia fest. I didn't wash it off completely, and after a bit I started to get hints of lemon and sandalwood along with the cassia. But the itching is going to keep me from wearing this, unfortunately.

    The Knave of Hearts

Graham crackers?? Seriously? One for the "age it a bit and see what happens" pile.

This oil *would* be green, wouldn't it? Overpoweringly musky at first, but after about 30 minutes this settled down into a soft, fruity (I can smell the guava), faintly floral scent. Fresh and cool. I may try it again in a few weeks to see how that initial musky blast is faring. And if there's EVER another X-Files movie made, I've got something to wear to opening night now.

    Croquet

Oh wow. I smell the lime and grapefruit and nectarine! This is so refreshing and citrusy, but not citrusy in an air-freshener way. I assume that's the other notes at work, especially the musk. I can definitely see me reaching for this on a hot, muggy day. A winner!

    Eternal

This is awfully fleeting for something called "Eternal". Light, pretty, sort of faintly gardenia and very clean. Reminds me a bit of The Ghost and Dirty, with that clean feeling. Nice and inoffensive.

    Aglaea

Peachy indeed on first application, then the amber kicks in and this goes very odd on me. It smells almost like pastry with a faint hint of peach. I get no florals at all. A strange one.

    Megaera

Bergamot and citrus. This is like a fancy cup of tea with lemon. Bergamot and grapefruit sometimes disagree with my skin so I doubt I'll be wearing this much, but I'll keep it just to sniff now and again.

Fresh apricots drying down to dark, musky apricots. The musk keeps this from being too fruity in a "Is someone eating apricots in here?" way. Not too much staying power but I think this beats March Hare and Grand Guignol in the BPAL apricot ranks.

    Jezebel

If O is heavy, sticky, amber-y honey, then Jezzie is light, flowery, powdery honey. The springtime counterpart to winter's O. It gets a little more powdery than I'd like after a couple of hours, but it's still so sweet and light that I don't mind. I couldn't make up my mind in one of my first imp orders between this and O, so I asked the lab to pick one. They sent Jezebel and I added O to my next order and ended up loving both!

    Hunger

Has anyone seen Hunger and Ravenous in the same place at the same time? They smell nearly identical. Strong, strong orange with vanilla underneath. A little too strong--it's a fine line between oranges and rotting oranges and this is a little too close to the line. But it does have good lasting power.

    Lolita

Spicy orange/lemon candy at the start (sort of like spiced jelly beans or gumdrops). Then it fades down to a straight citrus, mostly orange. Unfortunately, I've tried this imp twice now and both times it's made me itch, so...farewell, my Lo!

    Horn of Plenty

So medicinal! This smells like something Grandpa Simpson would whip up if Maggie had a cold. Sort of fruity/herbal/sweet. Would taste great as a cough drop; not what I want in a perfume.

    Alice

Powdery carnation and an instant headache. Alice, baby, why can't we get along?

    Frumious Bandersnatch

This must be the only carnation blend that's not a giant rampaging orgy of carnation on me. Instead, it's a spicy plum that reminds me of fruit compote. As it dries, the spiciness disappears and I'm left with...plum. A nice plum, but it's a little too Yankee Candle to wear as a perfume. As a room scent, though...most definitely!

    Baghdad

I'm getting mostly amber and sandalwood from this one, and maybe a little bit of mandarin. It conjures up a dry, hot landscape. Probably better on a man than on me.

    Dragon's Eye

All lilac and lily on me. Very springlike and fresh, and not at all like any of the other Ars Draconis oils. It's fading fast but this might make a great room scent or sachet.

    Dragon's Claw

Dry, dry, dry sandalwood and dragon's blood to sweeten things up a bit. This is the manliest dragon's blood blend I've tried. Not much throw, nothing I'm too wild about, but nothing offensive either.

    Cairo

If there were such a thing as lemongrass incense, this would be it. It's not what I expected at all, and it's nice, but a little heavy on the citrus. I do love the saffron color of this oil.
  19. Iceblink

    Blood

The dragon's blood and cherry in this make it so sickly-sweet on me--it smells gorgeous in the imp and then it's sweet sweet syrup all the way on my skin. The clove is there, but not enough to balance out the sweetness. It smells a lot like Dragon's Heart. I do get the metallic note underneath everything else, and it does give the scent a bloodlike quality. If it weren't so sweet I'd love this, but it just doesn't work on me.

    Lampades

Sweet fruity cranberries that are rapidly being devoured by evil lilies. Damn you, lilies! This reminds me a lot of Shango on first application, before the lily kicks in. If only it stayed that way!
  21. Iceblink

    Masabakes

What the hell? This smells just like lawn clippings. Lawn clippings with myrrh. Bizarre.
  22. Iceblink

    Maenad

This smells really green on me, with just a little fruitiness. Almost like really unripe fruit. It's not horrible, but it's not great, either. I think carnation just doesn't work on me in any form.
  23. Iceblink

    Madrid

Yum. This smells just like I spilled very fruity red wine on my arm and then rubbed cloves over it. Not a daytime scent, but great for a night of barhopping!
  24. Iceblink

    Amsterdam

From this imp I learned that tulips=instant headache. It is a very sharp, damp, green floral and the tulip note dominates, crawls up my nose, and tries to kill me. Yeeeowch!

    Nocturne

I wanted to love this so so much. It smells divine in the imp--all lilac and iris and like the most gorgeous spring flower garden, ever. Tragically, something in it turns to that old, dusty powder scent within just a few minutes, and I am sad. However, my misfortune was my lingerie's gain, because I used the rest of this imp in the water when I did handwashing today, and the bathroom and my stockings smell so damn good!
