    Goliath Birdwing

The lemongrass in Goliath Birdwing is *really* strong and herbal, and the presence of the anise makes this even herbier. I picked up a little more lemonyness as it dried, and a hint of sage. The combination is making this smell like a really great cleaning product. I'd love for my dishes or laundry to smell this fresh and good--but I don't think I like it much on my skin.

    La Belle au Bois Dormant

Opens as a fresh, watery pear, very delicate, but the drydown is pure floral soap. Nice soap, but still soap!

    Gnome

I *almost* love Gnome. I certainly love the wet stage--amazingly fresh, true ginger and fizzy sarsaparilla, but with a depth to it from the nutmeg and pepper that keeps you from smelling like pure ginger ale. Nice! The smoke and oil notes emerge on the drydown and make Gnome heavier and a little bit too powerful for me. I think I'd really like this if the oil/smoke were not quite so present--that initial ginger blast really is wonderful!

    Banshee Beat

Oh hai Banshee Beat; I see what all the fuss was about you! The three notes here are nicely balanced. Wet, the patchouli is the strongest (and it's a great patchouli!)...then I start getting more of that lovely ropey/grassy hemp note. A perfectly smooth, warm vanilla balances the blend. This is GREAT. I was worried it would be overpowering but it really isn't. Just good and warm and sexy. If you're on the fence, get a bottle!

    Paladin

This smells almost nothing like the description to me. It's very light and when I think musk, frankincense and leather I think of a much heavier scent. The leather is faint and there's something almost herbal/woodsy here. White musk tends to be quite sweet on me and I don't get any sweetness from that or the vanilla. I wonder if the armor, whatever it's meant to smell like, is taking over all the other notes! Odd, odd blend. Not bad but not what I expected.

    Mage

Lots of notes here and they're blended together very well. It's hard to pick out much beyond sweet dragon's blood and a general "resin"...with a little bit of green-smelling balsam. I'm not amping the frankincense like crazy here, just this once. There's something on the drydown that's almost--spicy? It's making me think of spicy candles. This is ok, but not something I would try again.

    Fighter

Another great leather! I've had a LOT of trouble with leather going crazy on me in the past but whatever went into these RPGs is working so much better. Once this is dry, I pick up the steel note more--leather and metal! I'd expect there to be a sweet blood quality here, but I'm not getting it...and this isn't particularly musky, either. If you like metallic notes and leather notes this'll be perfect, though. Might try it again.

    Rogue

WOW. I wasn't expecting this to be so beautiful! From wet to dry it's a beautifully worn, soft, sweet leather. I am not very experienced with hemp notes (hmm...maybe I need to try Banshee Beat?) but I'm guessing the sweetness here is from the hemp. This is *really* gorgeous and although it's strong on the leather it doesn't yell MAN MAN MANLY all over the place. VERY nice. I'll give this another testing, most certainly.

    Orc

I sniffed this in the vial before I read the note list and I thought "Cucumbers??". Now I see it's zucchini I'm smelling--oh well, it's all good. Once on the skin I got a blast of vetiver. The drydown of Orc is almost shockingly wearable and mild considering the odd assortment of notes--it's mostly a soft, earthy leather. Weird. But in a good way!

    Halfling

Opens up *very* sweet. Spicy raisins. Buttery pastry/pie crust emerges on the drydown. Unfortunately I'm getting the slight plastic edge to this as well. And the wet stage is really tooooooo sweet for me.

    Neutral

My hopes were high for Neutral as I love skin musk; this definitely meets my expectations! It's clean, fresh, simple--skin musk with a powdery edge and maybe a touch of florals like others are saying. I was worried this would be too faint but it's actually got decent throw, too. WONDERFUL! I'll need a bottle for sure.

    Dwarf

Stone and iron. I'm impressed with how Beth is able to create those notes! There's a light leather note; no hops on me. A great representation of a character in perfume form, although not something I would wear.

    Elf

Oddly herbal--ITA with a lot of the reviews above; this is almost piney/cleaner-y. For something with all of those sweet notes listed it's not sweet at all, either. Too sharp for me.
  14. Iceblink

    Half-Elf

Sandalwood and beeswax and yeah...something almost dirty and unpleasant in here too. Chemically. It's hard to describe but I think whatever musk is in this isn't working well on my skin.
  15. Iceblink

    Good

Very pretty--musky vanilla with fresh honey and a bit of fruitiness. This sounds like it could be ridiculously sweet, but it's a subtle, close-to-the-skin scent on me. Nice!
  16. Iceblink

    Cleric

Rose and frankincense--smells a lot like Rose Cross! The lab's frankenincense note continues to go unpleasantly burnt and ashy on me after a couple of minutes. Not picking up any other notes here--that incense is just too powerful!
  17. Iceblink

    Lawful

Starts out as rather harsh oak, almost wet-smelling. Dries down to a softer wood with a LOT of herby-smelling chamomile...kind of like being in a forest on a sunny day, actually--it's nice, although not something I would wear. I bet this would be fantastic on the right person layered with Ranger.

    Evil

I amp opium. Like CRAZY. This has not changed with Evil. It's very dry opium--is there amber here too? It's faintly sweet from the plum and tobacco but I'll agree with previous reviewers that this goes powdery perfume on me very fast and stays there. I can smell how this WOULD be a great, sophisticated statement perfume on some skin, and I may age this imp a bit to see if the other notes will become more prominent with time. Reminds me a bit of Darkness from the GC.

    Ranger

This went on wet as pure buckskin. VERY strong, clear leathery buckskin! On the drydown, I'm picking up pine, bark, moss--all grounded by earthy patchouli, with hay floating on top and the buckskin faded into the background. It's very outdoorsy/foresty, as is fitting. Men would smell amazing in this! ITA that there's something about it reminding me of Golden Priapus. Nice--not me, but nice!

    Chaotic

Every blend I've tried with rooibos so far has ended up amping that note like CRAZY on me. Lots of red tea here, with musk. I get a little spicy kick from the wasabi. No heliotrope, although it would be hard for it to be distinguishable with so much tea and musk! This does have nice throw, and would probably layer well with the darker RPG blends.

    Chokecherry Honey

Definitely cherry and honey!! And thick, sweet cherries. This feels very "pink" to me. Will be trying this again for a full day for sure!
  22. Iceblink

    Redoul Honey

I get a tart fruitiness from this and very new, fresh honey. I wouldn't have pegged the fruit as blackberry at first; it was almost...green? Herbal? Something...but as it dries it's definitely fruity! A little too sweet/sour for me though.

    Bordello Claw Polish

BORDELLO CLAW POLISH Metallic Flake Pearl The bright raspberry of Dance Hall flocked wallpaper. Perfect for any Painted Lady. Oh, this is so pretty. It's a beautiful raspberry color with LOADS of silvery shimmer. I've got it swatched on a piece of paper and the light bouncing off it is just dazzling! If you like Morgause, this is in the same color family. This suits the name "bordello" so well!

    Bones Trombone

This is quite true to the description--pie crust (subtle, but there) with creamy blueberry and lemon. The fruit notes are tart but the cream/marshmallow sweetens them and keeps the lemon from going Pledgey on me. There is a very, very faint trace of hemlock. I'm happy that the marshmallow is NOT turning to plastic here! I like this a lot but will need to skin-test it again post-shower, as I've had a little trouble with blueberry being an irritant in the past. But overall--delicious! I want pie now.

    Knockout Drops

I smell a lot more than a dribble of absinthe in Knockout Drops--on my skin that note dominates this blend. There's a hint of lemon and mint too (I see I'm not the only one thinking this smells a bit like a mojito!) and a creaminess deep down from the vanilla and white chocolate...but thanks to the absinthe and lemon this is more of a herbal blend than a foody one. It's softening more and more the longer I wear it. Nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the Lab's absinthe note on me because it amps so much. If you like that note you will LOVE this!
