  1. In the bottle: I'm a bit overwhelmed by the scent. It gives me an immediate headache, but it smells strange, like green pine sol to me.

Wet: Less green pine sol, but it still is smelling slightly green, bitter, and spicy. I'm not getting any distinguishable scents.

Drying: Grapefruit peel and ginger. I'm not getting much apple blossom

Dry: I finally smell the apple blossom and white tea with a little spicy ginger. Unfortunately, this combination gives me a headache, so I don't think it is for me.

  2. In the Bottle: Very intense dragon's blood with geranium underneath. I'm having trouble smelling anything else.

Wet: spicy, fruity dragon's blood with exotic geranium underneath.

Drying: Gernaium, fruity, orangy candied currant with a bit of incense coming up behind everything.

Dry (12+ hours later): I smell geranium with a little dragon's blood and a little sweetness behind it.

  3.

ITB:I smell really heavy cinnamon with a little bit of honey underneath.

Wet: Cinnamon followed by honey and just a little bit of copal.

Dry: sweet cinnamon and myrrh with some honey softening it out. Very nice!

  4. In the bottle - I get very fruity, like strawberry and perhaps fake pineapple. I'm not to thrilled with it in the bottle.

Wet: A little more flowery, but still very heavily fruity. Not digging it.

Dry down: I'm getting much more lily now. I'm also getting something that smells like sweat or something musky underneath. I don't like the underscent.

Dry: Not a whole lot of throw here once dry. After 2-3 hours, I have to be about 1" away to smell it. I smell lily, but no sweat, thank god.

  5.

ITB and Wet: I get lots of oakmoss and lemon behind it for some reason. The violet starts to come out as it dries, as well as an oddly peppery undertone. I'm not sure if that is the oude or the copaiba.

Dry: Very faint already. I'm getting white tea, violet, and some spiciness, which might be the balsam.

9+ hours: I get violet, white tea, and a little bit of sandalwood. I really like the scent after the amount of time. It's light, feminine, and interesting without smelling like rose, powder or other commonly associated woman scents.

  6. In the bottle: It reminds me of Trappist monk fruit cake. I smell cardamom, clove, some cinnamon and rum (I know it's not in there, but that is what I'm getting). It's a bit cloying in the bottle and wet.

Wet: More of the same with a bit of a buttery undertone, followed by a little pepper.

Dry: Sugary cardamon, cinnamon and clove with a little rum.

12+ hours:A bit of clove and cardamon. It's very faint, but I can still smell it.

This is the first scent that my husband said, "I like it!"

  7. In the Bottle: Almond with a bit of patchouli

Wet: Almond, patchouli, jasmine and a bit of bitterness. I'm not sure if it is the lilies or the incense.

Dry: Incense, patchouli, lilies, and just a hint of cinnamon and jasmine. I'm surprised I'm not getting the almond since it was so strong earlier.

After 11 hours, I'm smelling faint almond, but that is about it.

Overall Verdict: A nice complex scent that changes with time. I like it!

  8. In the bottle: Heavy eucalyptus is all I get on first sniff. I'm not against the scent, actually.

Wet: Eucalyptus and pine. I'm not getting very much citrus, but again, I'm okay with that.

Dry Down: As it drives, I'm getting a slight citrus scent coming up behind the two other notes. The pine is coming through while the eucalyptus is fading down a little.

Dry: 6+ hours later, I get pine tempered by a little citrus. I'm a fan!

  9. In the Bottle: I'm getting lemon (I know it's not in there), and olive blossom. I get just a little bit of tea on the tail end. It reminds me of Lush's Olive Branch mixed with Snow Cake.

Wet: A bit more sweetness here. I think the amber is coming through, but a bit powdery, followed quickly by olive blossom and lemon again.

Dry: Olive Blossom and lots of powder with a hint of spiciness. I'm hoping the powder will die down after hours of well. As of right now, it is just alright.

  10. In the bottle: Heavy gardenia with a hint of bergamot - a little overly flower, but I'm eager to apply it.

Wet: I'm smelling more bergamot with with gardenia following right behind, perhaps tempered by some geranium + a little soapiness.

Dry (1 hour): Heavy gardenia, tempered by tobacco flower and bergamot. I'm not smelling bourbon or geranium though.

  11. I have left this scent at the bottom of my drawer for a while, never venturing to put it one because I cannot stand the ITB smell. I thought I would be brave today.

In the bottle: I'm not getting any of these notes at all. I smell synthetic strawberry, which I cannot stand. I'm thinking this smells like gel strawberry car air-freshner and the Mr. agrees.

Wet: Ick, still synthetic strawberry. I'm tempted to scrub my wrist, but I want to see how it dries.

Dry Down: Ok, now I'm starting to get Georgia peach -very sweet, but with a slightly boozy undertone. Someone earlier suggested schnapps and I agree. Ew, still not a fan.

Dry: A touch of amber under peachy oddness and powder. Not for me :(

  12. Midnight Mass 09

Bottle: I'm smelling myrrh and something sweet that is the top note, not sure if it is a floral scent or woodsy sent right now.

Dry down: heavy resin, frankincense, myrrh.

Dry: More woodsy with frankincense coming to the top.

Lasting time: I put some on this morning around 5am, but I could not smell anything 12 hours later. I'm not sure when the scent stopped throwing, but it was before my workday finished.

  13. In the bottle: I smell leather, juniper, dragon's blood resin, and mulled wine in that order.

Wet: Mulled wine is very much making its presence known. I can smell some grassy/woodys scents barely underneath, and just a little resin finishing it off. Right now, it reminds me of mulled spiced rum. Yum!

Dry down: The dragon's blood now seems like the primary scent, toned down just slightly by the mulled wine. I can smell hints of leather cured in juniper berries and damp woods. I'm still adoring it!

Final: Mulled win and dragon's blood as primary notes, followed by the woodsy scents, with leather just sneaking under. This will be a scent that I need a bottle of.

  14. In bottle - I don't smell any vanilla to me. It smells like incense, and not really the resin kind either (more like stick incense).

I didn't smell it wet, but some 13 hours after application, I smell vanilla bean and mild incense spice. Hubby, however, proclaims that it smells old. I shall be aging this one to give it another go at some later date.

  15. Honestly, I thought Dorian was "O" when I put it on at 5am this morning. In the bottle, it does smell like Fresh's Lemon Sugar, but as soon as it hit my skin, out came the musky vanilla. I don't remember the lemon lasting very long, but after nearly 14 hours of wear, I still smell vanilla, some tea, and just a hint of bitter if I concentrate. I am rather impressed at Dorian's staying power.

  16. In the bottle, I smell baking vanilla and honey.

Wet: Vanilla and honey still come through, but I'm getting a powdery scent, which I hope dies down a bit.

Dry down: I am getting much more amber now, and the honey and vanilla seem to be taking a back seat. I still smell powder though.

Dry: I smell heavy amber and some honey, followed lightly by vanilla. The powdery scent is gone, thank goodness, and I'm left with a lovely, rich scent.

  17. Wet: I notice the Juniper berries, hints of lavender, with and undercurrent of the rice wine.

Dry: The Juniper berries fade to let the lavender and ceder/benzoin dominate as the primary and secondary notes. I really enjoy this scent, but then again, I love the more woodsy scents.
