  1. Delighted to try a sniffy! Smells like peach incense, which is a somewhat odd combo to my nose: I like peach if it's blended with other fruit notes (Titania :yum: ), and I sometimes like incense, but I don't really like them together. I'm glad I got to try it, though, and it's for a great cause.

  2. Melon baby powder.

To be fair, I tested a generous frimp decant labeled 2013; I'd be willing to try it again to see if it smells different new, as some BPALs get better when aged and some don't. Then again, that may just be what my skin does to 51.

  3. *chef's kiss* This is perfection, the first bottle in a long time that I've bought unsniffed without trying for a decant first. In fact, I stalked the website to grab it the second it became available. Something about the scent of clove cigs has always been so seductive to me, and I have Demeter's "Humidor" but it's a bit...weak. Beth's version is strong, complex, and delicious. :yum: I will wear it to death (alternating with Haunted) this autumn.

  4. This is delicious! :yum: I love the BPAL cotton candy note; my all-time fav is Midway, but this is like her fun younger sister. I get each note quite distinctly while wet, and the lime is perfect for a tangy balance to the sweet. The strawberry is least dominant on me, which is good as my skin does tend to turn it to plastic (notable exception: Strawberry Moon). Dry, the notes blend into cotton candy with a slight fruit twist. Strong throw, and very summery!

  5. This would be a perfect holiday room scent in an oil diffuser as well as a perfume. Wet, it smells like apple cider, but it blooms as it dries and becomes more complex, with orange and different spices emerging. I don't really get red wine (I was hoping for the note from Tintagel), but it's warm and festive and yummy.

  6. Weirdly enough, this starts out (wet) as pine trees on me. Definitely Yule, but not really my thing. However, the pine vanishes as it dries down and it becomes a fresh lemon (as opposed to cleaning-product lemon) over the moonflower note I recognize from Moon Rose. It's pretty and unexpected but still wintry.

  7. Well-blended floral with sweet, light gourmand underpinnings and excellent throw I looooove vanilla + floral, so this was a no-brainer. Even though it's a Yule scent, I'll definitely wear it for Valentine's. However, I don't love jasmine, and though it's not the dominant note, I'd love this even more if it were replaced with, say, my beloved frangipani. It's not a dealbreaker though.

  8. I hate the word "flesh" (*shudder*), but I had to have this based on the notes. Wet, it's strong and reminds me a little of Snake Charmer crossed with Smut--a heavy vanilla-musk. However, on drydown it really morphs, becoming a soft almond with a slight "edge" to it. Not a foody almond, more like an almond flower, if that makes sense? I like it in both stages, but not as much as I love O.G. Snake Charmer.

  9. This is a weird one! I was expecting spicy, but on me it's patchouli and mandarin only, and it's both sweet and quite sharp. I was hoping for more amber, ginger, and 'mum, but nope... 'Mum Moon remains the best mum scent on me.

  10. I get the leaf notes while wet, then the spices come out as it dries. This isn't at all sweet on me--it's spicy and a bit chilly (the "dead leaves" notes read as "cologne" on me, but not in a bad way). I wish the layers of notes blended a bit better on me, as I get leaves then chai rather than leaves + chai. I like it, but a decant is enough; I think sweet sexy Bengal is still my ideal spice BPAL.

  11. A generous frimp from a BPALer :smilenod:

Wet: I'm getting fresh orange and geranium (?) although maybe that's actually the bergamot.

Dry: my brain is saying "witch shop." 🧙‍♀️There's a pagan shop near me, and this smells like it. There's definitely myrrh, but it's something else too... I'm just now reading other reviews and they say things like "head shop" "Psychic Eye bookshop"...we're all getting the same vibe, but it's so hard to describe! :hippie:

  12. A generous frimp from a BPALer :smilenod:  Aw, this is a Dumbledore scent! Magical but kind. 🧙‍♂️ Incense with a lot of depth. Floating on top, that slightly citrusy note from High John the Conqueror. On the drydown, a softer resinous incense. Good for when you need to feel wise.

  13. I had to try this, as I love frangipani and the only BPAL I think I've ever had it in is Desire--but the jasmine kinda killed that one on my skin. This one starts out beautiful; while wet, it's a frangipani-rose bouquet with a sweet, almost sugary edge to it: about as sweetly delicious as a floral can be! On the drydown, it gets soapy (jasmine...again) and fades away. If there's ever a frangipani scent without jasmine, I will buy a bottle, but as it is, I'll use the decant. Overall, I would say "Orgy" is like Extra "Desire", which makes perfect sense!

  14. I didn't have the notes in front of me when I tested this, but I immediately thought "lemon and yuzu and maybe pineapple, floating in a flute of champagne!" Now I see that it's apple + ginger rather than pineapple, but either way it's a delicious, sparkly, delicate scent! Perfect for summer, and definitely one to get based on the notes rather than the name. ;)

  15. I admit, I got this because I have never gotten over my long-lost love, La Fee Verte, from (I think?) BTPT circa 2005, whose dominant notes were absinthe and honey. I've never forgotten how surprisingly perfect that scent was. Alas, this is not the green fairy, though it is nice! Strong honey and mint/herbal. The notes are distinct; they exist at the same time rather than blurring together. I like it enough to use up my decant, but not enough to buy a bottle.

  16. I have been longing for a clove-tobacco scent, so I jumped on this, and it's perfect! Deep, dark clove and tobacco, like pipe smoke or those yummy but oh-so-bad-for-you clove cigarettes. It's not at all sweet, just deeply spicy. Definitely unisex and perfectly autumnal. :yum:

  17. This is great! A cotton candy scent for grownups! The vanilla-rose base gives it depth and sophistication. I got a hint of sour on first application, but it faded quickly. I'm not sure what that was. The cotton candy also fades fairly quickly on me, although I enjoy that phase, and I'm left with a longer-lasting base of vanilla rose that is very wearable and not too, too sweet.

  18. A very young, sweet scent--I immediately thought Bath n' Body Works or Vic's Secret, as others have said, but for me that's not a good thing; I was hoping for musk and floral, but this is strawberry-vanilla candy. I'm actually kind of embarrassed to be wearing it at work. I will give my decant to a friend's daughter; it'd be adorable on a little girl, but I feel too old and grouchy to pull it off. ;)
